  1. Martin too slow to slide in the equaliser after good play by Pring & Cod
  2. not a lot in it, but at least we are playing better than at Millwall
  3. Why did we ever give him a new contract is the real question! He does have a good game 1 in 10, so maybe today's the day!
  4. Agree he gets battered by defenders, agree his hold up play & first touch can be good when he is sharp and is certainly better than Fam offered. The issue is that by continually picking him to start 2/3 games a week, he is not sharp, in fact getting more laboured each game, and is really contributing little to us. Fully rested up he is an asset, not flogged he isn't.
  5. One of my friends who lives in Derby says he was a chalk & cheese player with the fans, i.e. some thought he was good, others thought he was a poor option. Can't argue that he is an intelligent player, but his movement limitations are really limiting what we can get out of him. Wells, if fit, is surely a better option even the raw Janneh would offer more threat than Martin does.
  6. Exactly this, a sharp fully rested Chris Martin I see as an asset, an overused Chris Martin with legs/muscles still not recovered from the last 90 mins does nothing for us. He was awful against Millwall.
  7. Really hoping Chris 'slow coach' Martin is not picked to start again, but that may depend on whether Wells is fit or not.
  8. Bakinson is capable of some good one touch passing when playing as an attacking midfielder, but defensively he is (and always has been) a liability. Add to that his languid style and just cannot see him making it as a regular above league one level.
  9. Would like to know why he was pulled from subs at last minute; somehow picked up a knock or said something about being dropped I wonder? For me if Wells had played instead of Martin we would have done much better.
  10. of course he could, and he wouldn't pass up any good chances to score either.
  11. Nobody is going to take Martin off us, well certainly not another championship side anyway.
  12. Wells was our best attacker against QPR & Fulham, and should have started tonight instead of Martin - who seems to get poorer with each passing game. For sure Wells would have scored from the chance Martin wasted.
  13. Sky commentator says "Bristol City don't have an attacking idea"... so darned true.
  14. Yes and that wasn't a real shot, it was Weimann overunning the ball to the keeper.
  15. Yes, but wonder why... perhaps Wells said something along the lines of "why I have been dropped instead of that lard ass Martin"...
  16. I'm over 60 and sure I could beat Martin over 20 yards
  17. we could have points docked for bringing him on when he is not named on the teamsheet
