  1. Another foul from Tranmere but FGR player reacts and sees red.
  2. Planning to watch this one and hoping FGR do well, be great to see them putting one over the gas next season. Think Tranmere have our Jonny Smith (winger) on loan so be interesting to see wot he is like.

  4. Reputedly Baker is our highest wage earner at £20k and Kalas is paid £23k. Well worth extending our wage cap and offering Kalas £25k, along with a likely 6m fee for Chelsea, worth every penny. Besides we could then offload Baker at least, and possibly Wright too.
  5. Similar aspirations but poorer execution I'd say... Examples 1.8m on a RB who cant defend 1 on 1 against any winger with a bit of pace (Hunt) . 1.5m on a striker virtually never played (Eisa). 1m on a midfield flank player when we have at least 4 better players (Watkins). Very limited chances given to Walsh and Morrell, despite poor form from Pack.

  7. Fair point to an extent. Smith lead Brentford to 9th, 10th & 9th BUT he did that on a shoestring budget whilst playing generally acknowledged entertaining attacking passing football. LJ hasn't had the major bucks to spend compared to some in the championship but he has had way more to spend than Smith ever had at Brentford and achieved about the same.
  8. Spot on...Kalas is worth that.
  9. Can't see Palmer wanting to stay after LJ has mainly used him as a bench warmer. Then take today, best player on the pitch, and he gets subbed off whilst Weimann who had offered nothing (and continued to do so) stay on... LJs biggest failings for me are not finding a way to accommodate giving Palmer and Eliasson more game time, and dicking around with 3/5 at the back when with Kalas & Webster in a back four we looked really solid with the RB position being the only weak link.
  10. Why? For leading us to 11th and now 8th after being in fantastic positions to make the top 6? Time will tell, I simply can't see what he has on his CV for a 'bigger' club to come in for him.
  11. Amen to that... but will depend on the player himself, no doubt he will get other offers.
  12. LJ is going nowhere for now, no way any of those 3 going to offer him a role...
  13. Wouldn't be surprised for Pulis to pay the price of failure to get M'Boro in the Play-Offs
  14. Highs - The 9 match winning run; Kalas & Webster the best CB pairing we have had since Merrick & Collier. Lows - the wasted opportunities not beating sides in the lower third at home because of over cautious line-ups; the failure to accommodate Palmer & Eliasson as regular starters.
  15. Windscribe free edition is just fine, no need to pay for it. The free edition is restricted to 10gb pm which is enough for 4 games and there are plenty of other free VPNs that can be used if more than 4 games shown in a month.
  16. Interesting though that Exeter have also had a good season post-Tisdale, only just missing out on the play-offs today.
  17. EXACTLY, just 10 goals, 50% of what is considered the benchmark for a top striker. 5 of his goals in the first 6 games and 3 at Sheff Utd. Just 2 in over 30 other appearances, yes his endless running is admirable, but his shooting and final pass when on a run are pretty woeful.
  18. As you say can't be worse than 8th and given improvement was what SL expected, can't argue that LJ has meet expectations. Shame he couldn't exceed expectations by getting us in the play-offs (I know with an unlikely set of results this could still happen). He has 1 year left on his contract, imagine SL will want to see us achieve a top 6 position next season, or it will be time for LJ to move on.
  19. Almost agree with this but would add Taylor for 'can't hit a barn door from more than 5 yards out' Weimann.
  20. LJ will play Bailey Wright RB if Hunt not available, you wait and see...
  21. Totally agree, yes Wiemann runs around an awful lot, but there is virtually no end product. His shooting and delivery of final pass on the run is so often woeful.
  22. nah, Pack's taken over that mantle now...
  23. Both correct. Nobody can doubt Weimann's effort or that he makes clever runs (often unseen), BUT when he does get in good position his shooting is woeful, often he hits it at least 6ft wide or high. His final pass when on the run if often too easily cut-out too. There was one chance in the 2nd half when he had a great chance of finding one of two team mates in the centre and his cross is cut-out by the covering defender. As for the effort that hit the bar, poor technique leaning back when he should have been forcing a save at least. AW is not, and never will be, the striker we need - I'm hoping Semenyo might be.
  24. Spot on. Those suggesting 'bigger' clubs will look at taking him on are deluded.
