  1. Sorry, who is this person you speak of?
  2. Agree with this except would like to see Semenyo partner Afobe, and leave Weimann on the bench.
  3. Having moved Pack on, who was Mr Undroppable under LJ, let's hope Bailey Wright is not about to assume that mantle. Poor at Birmingham, with the usual 'rugged' defending giving away a few unnecessary free kicks and consistently giving the ball away with woeful forward passing. From what I heard on the radio and from comments from those that saw the game, poor again last night and not just because of the feeble penalty kick. Culpable for their 2nd goal as it's him that passes to Walsh, despite Walsh having 2 QPR players closing him down (Walsh then naively tried to play out and must take most blame). Don't doubt Wright gives 100%, but for me he simply is not good enough, much rather see us try to develop Taylor Moore than play Wright.
  4. Well said, much rather have Moore at CB rather than Bailey Wright any day.
  5. Just musing over our CB options to go with Kalas… Baker - Yesterday was a typical Baker performance, mainly very good defensively BUT highly culpable for their goal as he completely lost where the ball was, allowing the cross to be lobbed over for their goal. Unfortunately this penchant for making an odd costly mistake, whilst otherwise playing well, seems to have become too common an occurrence with him. Wright - Really should only be used as a stand-in in my opinion. Rugged defending is OK, but does give away needless free kicks. His forward passes are just a terrible waste of possession time after time. Moore - The only one of these 3 that can play out of defence, looked a big sluggish at times against Leeds and caught flat footed a few times, but surely worth investing game time in Moore in the hope that his defensive play can get sharper. I'd prefer to see us play a back four, so as to be able to accommodate Eliasson starting, and would go with either Kalas/Baker or Kalas/Moore for that. If we are going to play 3 CBs then for me has to be Kalas, Baker & Moore, as in that formation there will always be a centre back bringing the ball out and we simply can't afford to continually give up possession like Wright does.
  6. I'd have scored 1 lower for Wright, Brownhill & Weimann. Would have made Nagy our MoM. For me we need to go 4-4-2 so can accommodate Eliasson starting. I'd leave out Bailey Wright.
  7. Yes indeed, partnering Kalas in a back FOUR.
  8. Works fine for the money... Pay £14.99 today and you can watch the next 5 league games and judge for yourself
  9. As long as Weimann does not get picked to play right flank of midfield, that will do for me. (No problem with him being picked to play central up front).
  10. This... ask the question again after we have played 6 games. If LJ persists with the dross hoofball we saw against Leeds, combined with playing Weimann right midfield, then we are going to be bottom half for sure. If he can utilise the overload of true midfield talent we now have, including starting Eliasson regularly, then we could be in for a very good season.
  11. Indeed, and if we start with Weimann right flank of midfield again, you know LJ has learnt nowt! We seem to have the midfield players to play pass and move football now, not the dross hoofball we saw against Leeds.
  12. Pato gone to Derby on season long loan, strange one for me. One thing letting him go and cashing in, another doing a loan to a rival.
  13. Indeed providing LJ plays Eliasson that is! Hoping Afobe is competition for Fammy, not being thought of as a strike partner...
  14. I rate Walsh better than Pack on all fronts bar heading ability. If we can get something for Pack, we should take it.
  15. If you are right that's a nailed on home win
  16. No, rather see Semenyo up front as he has greater physical presence. You could make a case for Weimann instead of Semenyo, but he should either be played up front, or left on the bench, Weimann is a poor option on right flank of midfield (as Sunday showed) Sadly suspect you are right!
  17. Below is side I'd like to see, pretty sure will not be what LJ picks though... Bentley Pireira Moore Kalas DaSilva Nagy Brownhill Massengo Eliasson Palmer Semenyo
  18. Can't argue with that... LJ made to look like he had no tactical nous whatsoever compared to Bielsa.
  19. Looking at the bright side, maybe LJ will play Semenyo up front at Brum now and he will crack home a hat-trick
  20. it was tongue-in-cheek, the Johnson out bit anyways, but seriously if he watched that game on Sky he can hardly have been impressed with LJs 'lump it to the big man and hope for the best' tactics, compared to how Bielsa had Leeds setup and playing.
  21. Exactly... that display could not have helped... Johnson out!
