  1. Yes, well done to LJ today. A most unexpected win, down to him getting the tactics AND the team selection spot on from the start for once. IF he can keep that up and we could win at M'boro the players belief would be flooding back and then who knows.
  2. Agree in general and SOD does hold the unwanted record of longest winless run in league games of 16, but we did get wins against Palace and the Gas in cup games in between. So I was just wondering what our record winless run in all competitions is, perhaps it's already LJs record with his 8 defeats...
  3. Totally agree, sadly. LJ to extend his winless run to 7 games, that's as bad as SOD days, anyone know our record number of winless games in all competitions?
  4. What made that decision even more bizarre, was LJ had openly commented after the PNE game that Semenyo strengths were receiving the ball with his back to goal and using his low centre of gravity and good footwork to turn or keep possession... then he plays him LW with Dasilva at LB who all too often gets caught up field. Queue "accident waiting to happen" which it did.
  5. Agree LJ needs to be judged after 46 games, not based on us temporarily being 6th. IF he gets us finishing in the top 6 I will eat all the humble pie going. Even if we finish 7th to 10th he will have achieved SL expectations to improve on last seasons finish. Finish outside of the top ten... which seems most likely on current form and it's time for him to go.
  6. Agree with you, doesn't need to be a negative formation and actually can work very well, PROVIDED other players get up and about the lone striker to offer support. My point is we have been failing to do that time after time at home, it was crystal clear that the formation was not working again by HT last night, so FFS why didn't LJ change it?
  7. How much longer in this losing his best 3 players stuff going to be trotted out as an excuse? Flint was only allowed to leave after Webster's signing was in the bag, Webster is a far better defender than Flint (I do agree we miss Flint's goals though). Bryan was replace by Dasilva and/or the emergence of Kelly, again defensively both better than Bryan. Reid, well fair enough, not adequately replaced by Wiemann. Also, all 3 of those players were at LJs disposal in the awful run in during the second half of last season, they didn't make the difference then as LJ lost the plot. LJ talks a good game, that's it, how just how can you defend his handling of last night's match?
  8. The title is the headline on the OS. Unfortunately it doesn't seem SL is ready to deliver that final push! I honestly would after what was a new low last night on the latest LJ winless run. One of the telling factors leading to Cotts going was his absolute stubbornness to change from his favoured 3-5-2 formation even though it was not working. Now we have LJ showing the same absolute stubbornness to change from his favoured 1 up top even for home games against the bottom side. To compound this even after watching an insipid first half with Fammy battling isolated on his own, LJ fails to change it at HT by bringing on Taylor or Semenyo to play up top and support Fammy. He then watches Ipswich dominating at the start of the second half but changes nothing until it, all too predictably, becomes 1-1. Then when he does make subs it's like for like position wise and still we struggle with Fammy up top on his own. Finally in the 82nd minute Taylor comes on. Too little, far too late. Clueless, LJ really is.
  9. I don't have a problem with LJs decision to play Semenyo, but that should have been up front alongside Fammy - the role he played so well in the sub appearance at PNE - to start him left wing was stupidity and led to the Leeds goal. LJ repeatedly picking BW at RB is frustrating. I like BW, he is a decent CENTRE BACK, and good backup for Webster & Kallas, but he should not be starting at RB if Pisano or Hunt are fit. Both of them are better defensively at RB and much better offensively than BW. The Norwich game was one , where having gone in at HT leading but with BW being skinned repeatedly at RB, the only obvious change was to take BW off for Pisano, but LJ didn't and it cost us. Judgement for LJ will come after 46 games played; Fall away (like last season) and finish lower than 10th then get rid. Finish 7th-10th give him another season to see if we can make the improvement to finish in the top 6. Finish in the top 6, then much eating of humble pie needed and LJ will finally deserve the accolades many have been prematurely giving him.
  10. Brownhill has been off form for the last half-a-dozen games, giving the ball away cheaply and making poor decisions when he has got forward. I'd drop him for Morrell or Kelly, but LJ won't drop either him or Pack.
  11. Well, if that is the case that would suggest 1300 seats not sold in the other 3 stands?
  12. Absolutely. Cannot think for one minute they, or any, 'bigger' club would seriously consider LJ. Now, if he manages to turn our slump around and get us finishing in the top 6, THEN he will have over achieved and perhaps be a realistic contender for jobs like this.
  13. Leeds only had 1300 Capacity is actually supposed to be 27,699, the Atyeo hold 4,200, but Leeds only had 1,300 in there. Hence 2,900 short of capacity = 24,800. Would have made more sense to open part of the Atyeo for home fans and have the netting between them. Why we needed multiple rows of netting at the front I have no idea. You don't see that at other games, e.g. Palace V Brighton from yesterday just had one section netted to separate home & away fans.
  14. Spot on. We actually helped Leeds pressing by frequently playing soft passes which even when accurate meant the receiving player had a Leeds player in his face. Needed much more zip on our passes to create that little bit of space for the receiving players. Pack often is poor when hassled (although can run midfield given time & space), Brownhill and Dasilva have been off their best for several games too. Add in, as has been mentioned, that Webster's passing (after several good bursts forward) was woeful and that explains a lot about why we were second best.
  15. 2-2... extending LJs latest winless run to 5 games...
  16. BCTV; £12.50 for a month subscription.
  17. I reckon you are right although personally would love to see Semanyo start alongside Fammy to really give Leeds something to think about. If we have another flat 1st half like the last 3 home games we will be losing again by HT.
  18. Well over recent years, except for the fantastic double winning season, being a bit pessimistic has worked out much closer to reality than being wildly optimistic...
  19. Anything more than 6 pts is probably optimistic, I'll be delighted to be proved wrong!
  20. Really cannot see Fulham being seriously interested in LJ. Moyes and Wagner are the clear bookies favourites. Wagner seems an obvious choice for them to me.
  21. Agree lets start on the front foot, we can always take him off if he tires, but for me should start up front with Fammy. I'd drop Weimann because for all his running there is little end product.
  22. Just like it was true when the Mirror ran the story that we were going to get a number of Man City starlets after our League Cup Semi-Final games last season... remind me how many did we get on loan? Perhaps, just perhaps, if LJ can lead us to finish in a play-off spot, that might be an achievement that could make Fulham interested. Have to remember for now LJ has achieved... dick all - well ok taking us to the League Cup semi-finals. That's it.
  23. To the point! Actually on the evidence of the Brum game you are right. Should have been the case that the players were geed up and ready to go following 2 close defeats against good sides, instead several of them looked totally flat and we never got going until subs were made in the second half. Whether you blame LJ, the lacklustre players themselves or both is a matter of opinion. CODs subdued performance didn't suggest LJ publicly (and harshly) calling him out as being at fault for Norwich's 2nd goal, did any good in terms of motivation!
