Another huge following from promotion chasing Bristol Rovers!

Yeah its of a shame that they always bang on about their supposedly MASSIVE away support isn’t it? 🤣

75 at Fleetwood, 300 at Lincoln, this shit turnout yesterday. The away support that, apparently, is the “envy of most clubs in L1” according to sags 🤣

    Deluded idiots.

Oh, so it’s only the colour that matters? Not the form? You think the stars aren’t an important part of the American flag?

Viewed from the side the picture is taken, the blue Union portion is the wrong way around on the American Airlines tail.

  3. Before the season started, Gasheads were all over Social Media telling us all how they had the best squad they’ve ever assembled and that promotion was a formality…..So I guess that leaves 2 other spaces which will probably be Derby and Pompey. Think I’d prefer Bolton over Derby

Actually we both did them a grave mis-service ;) The official figure was 126 taken from their 'guess the crowd' thread on GasChat.

That was probably exaggerated as well.

No, they will forever be known for taking 75 to Fleetwood which was lower than Forest Greens away support at Bradford on the same night.

Imagine claiming your away support is the envy of most clubs in the League when a L2 club from a village travel in bigger numbers 🤣

Anyway, I’m sure there’s a big anniversary coming up in May?

I'm up there for a long weekend. How does it affect trains when we are up there. I was hoping to go to Edinburgh on Friday or Sunday, not sure which operator that is? Also is the Metro likely to be affected? Anyone have any knowledge or info please?

On Friday drivers from the following companies will be on strike:

Avanti West Coast, Crosscountry, East Midlands Trains and West Midlands Trains.

On Saturday drivers from the following companies will be on strike:

Chiltern, GWR, London Northeastern, Transpennine and Northern Trains

There is also an overtime ban in many companies from the Thursday through to the following Tuesday although Sunday appears to be unaffected by industrial action so trains should run normally.

I don’t believe the Metro is affected.

Funny how we weren't even in contention, but now we have appeared in the list of possibilities.

I'm gonna stick £100 on City at those odds.

We’ve been on the list of possibilities since last July being amongst the favourites for the drop before a ball was even kicked….as is usually the case no matter how strong we finish the previous season.

Assuming we stay up we will start next season back amongst the favourites to go down. Unlike the last few seasons I’ve got zero confidence that our owners or manager will prove the bookies wrong this time.

Fair play to all who went, ridiculous journey midweek.

But for a club who apparently have such great support, this is quite something...

It’s a about 5 miles further than we travelled to Ipswich last week for a game that was televised on Sky and they were taking the piss out of us for taking a load more than THAT. 🤣

Stewart’s legs had gone but at least he did want to be here.

Bridges completely took the piss, seen out clubbing after games when he was “injured”. Waster.

Tinnion’s signings were largely disastrous, Alex Russell was decent & a proper manager (GJ) turned Orr into an outstanding RB, Tinnion would never have done that.

In fairness I think they all liked going out on the piss, I remember seeing 3 of them staggering drunk across the City Centre at 5 in the afternoon. But yeah, clubbing whilst supposed to be injured isn’t a good look, Bridges goes down as one of the signings I was most disappointed about in my time supporting City (and it’s a pretty big list).

No, it should have been seen that Bridges and Stewart were well down the wrong side of the hill.

I didn’t say they were exciting young prospects, my point regarding both players is that they had consistently done a job at the highest level.
For a L1 club they were potentially very decent signings and their arrival was welcomed by everyone.

Best thing that happened to them FFS , North Korea style mind control couldn't do better.

Of course , you can't get rid of players and stay in a Division, you have to get relegated, it's the Law or something.

Ok, let’s get one thing straight for this thick as mince Gas sizzler…

Getting relegated to L1 for us would be pretty shit but it’s not something that hasn’t happened in the past and not a single City fan thinks we’re too big to go down.

    However:

Nothing, absolutely nothing, will ever be as embarrassing as getting dumped out of the entire football league, at home, by a team wearing YOUR kit, a week after Gasheads were all celebrating staying up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

To be fair if I remember right most fans were excited by these signings

In hindsight they weren’t great but you’re absolutely right, Bridges and Stewart were exciting signings for L1 given their pedigrees.

  12. I swear we could get relegated and they’d still come out saying “yeah but what about that Southampton game eh?”.

We were 4 points off the Play Offs, not 3. Not a huge mistake but does make it sound like we were within one win of the top six position we were told we were capable of.

You'll be fine, too many sides beneath you.

Been some surprising scores around the bottom recently but it won't last. It only takes 2 sides from the 10 beneath you (not counting Rotherham of course) to struggle, and that's pretty much a guarantee.

    I'll admit I haven't got a clue who's gonna go though.

I’m impressed with how you and QPR have pulled yourselves right back to a point where you look a good bet to stay up. A few weeks back I thought the bottom 3 were going to be adrift before too long but credit where it’s due you’ve shown real fight.

I wouldn’t be in the slightest bit shocked if you both stay up.

Our problem is that a lot of the teams below us are only a few points behind and that means that our distance from the bottom 3 could shorten very quickly especially with the games we’ve got coming up.

Positive: In our hands to a very large degree.

Negative: Very bad record against these teams.

Will Sunderland, Plymouth and Blackburn still be so bad when we get to them?

The next 2 games are huge. I think both are winnable games because of how they will play.  Will Manning get it right? Will he learn to change when needed or react when obvious? Will he field fit players?

How many fit players have we got?

6 of the next 10, Sunderland are above us. Swansea is now a huge game because we are unlikely to get anything against West Brom away and Leicester at home. The last thing we need is to start facing the teams, that could well have overtaken us by then, on the back of 1 point (or zero) from 21 available.

So in the space of one game our odds to be relegated have dropped from 150/1 to 40/1.

I’ve never met a poor bookie and clearly they aren’t as confident we won’t be relegated now !

Probably not helped by Wednesday winning last night and there may have been a few bets placed at 150/1 since Saturday but a good example of how you can’t be too reassured by long odds with so many games left.

What now?  I will take the Paddy Power odds which are worth a tenner. If anyone genuinely thinks a bookie has got it wrong then they should bet. It’s the only way to long term profit

I get that, my point is that you suggested that Paddy Power know more about Bristol City and our current situation than an actual fan who presumably has watched the dross that’s been served up over the last couple of weeks and has resulted in the bottom 3 getting 9 points closer in just 13 days.

If the bookies know so much then what makes one bookie (Paddy
Power) more knowledgeable than another bookie (Skybet)?
