  1. 15th March 2028, 10 years time for the magic 10,000
  2. Am I missing something, have the rules changed?
  3. He told me off for making that joke a few days ago. I'm thinking of composing a song on here to cheer him up.
  4. If you add the number of Stands at Oxford and Bristol Rovers together, how many stands do you have?
  5. On a slightly different note, had a chat with a Gashead yesterday and he was more complimentary about our performance against Man City than I was (I was being modest).
  6. The Bristol Rovers Hall Of Fame Dean Windass - Entered 2008 Sergio Aguero - Entered 2018 Leon Knight - Entered 2004 Wicky Lambert - Entered 2007 Wade Elliott (Player Removed) - Entered 2013, Removed 2015 Any Others?
  7. 1) The Car Park is already under construction. 2) Billy Smart's Circus 3) When Crawley come calling you can't really stand in their way. 4) If their Championship ambitions are never ever then yes! 5) Yes, but he has to pay for the GoOutdoors discount card out of his own money. 6) How much are lottery tickets these days? Ironically, a Preston player might inform Billy!
  8. For what it is worth, I played on a pitch once that was never cut with a mower, only sheep grazing. The groundsman got all the poo up (at least we didn't see or slide through any) and it was easily the nicest pitch I've played on.
  9. Glad you added the edit because I was wondering. I'm writing a book, well more like a pamphlet, about Bristol Rovers and their Supporters. I'm calling it "We Are The Gutter, But Some Us Us Are Facedown In A Massive Turd". I had reasonable statistics regarding average gashead IQs but your data will really help as I've now got IQ estimates for 24 Gasheads, just need to track down the other 2 and I'll have all of them.
  10. He's just upset because back in the 80s he was sold a dodgy washing machine by a little cockney bloke with a yellow, three wheeled van on Duckmoor.
  11. The insult that such a great engineer and Bristol icon is associated in anyway with that tent!
  12. Then you screw over fans. I know with test cricket you are never guaranteed the length of the game but if I booked 4 days off work to watch the entire game, and missed the 5th day because it rained at some point I'd be fuming. At least the other way round where I may book off 5 days and the game lasts just 3, I've seen the whole game. This is particularly important for us Bristol folk as we have to travel to tests and may have booked hotels and transport that may not allow us to stay the extra day.
  13. You don't want too many games being lost by dominant teams that are forced to declare to try and win. It'll also increase the likelihood of a team trying to bat out a day, rather than play to score. Also if the average is just under 4 then perhaps 33% of games need the 5th day. That is a lot of draws.
  14. So does this mean Vince may start in Brisbane...
  15. I think we could genuinely struggle to score 2000 runs on the whole tour. Our bowlers are going to have to play out of their skins.
  16. It's sad as he is such a brilliant player. Not the first brilliant all-rounder England have produced to struggle with booze. But as you say, rightfully so
  17. For me he went beyond self defence and became the assaulter. If I was the ECB he would not be on the plane.
  18. It's a curse Those stats show that Root won't just stop scoring runs, plus he is a better player now. I still believe he could average around the 50 mark at three, which would allow our middle order to score more. If he doesn't then we'll carry one with the losing of early wickets and loads of pressure on the lower order to bail us out.
  19. So for me the only way we can win in Aus is to sort the batting. The solution for me is Root at 3. He needs to step up and be the next Vaughan or Ponting, so if we lose that early wicket, to stand his ground. Even if his average goes down, it would give a chance to whoever is batting 4 and 5 to face and older ball and a less energetic attack, thus scoring more than we'd lose with Root. Also if your captain is willing to take the bull by the horns then others may follow suit and our overall game may improve. I'd also be tempted to play 6 bowlers (I know, I know) as Stokes, Woakes and Moeen are all effectively all-rounders. Take Crane so when the ball gets old, we can spin it both ways with Moeen and Crane. That said I may bring Wood in for Crane if he can prove his fitness as his pace would be valuable. XI for 1st Test Cook Stoneman Root Malan Bairstow Stokes Ali Woakes Broad Anderson Crane
  20. Whoops. Meant to say we do need him for pace. Agree completely. But it could backfire
