Attempts on target last two games
Dastardly and Muttley replied to Jerseybean's topic in Football Chat
He needs a plan B, as there clearly isn’t one at the moment. Whether that’s down to a lack of tactical nous, or whether we just don’t have the players LM wants yet is hard to say. -
Birmingham City away match thread

The Christmas and NY games are tough. Thick and fast, with little recovery. Few teams play well for all of those games. It’s a different game if Mehmeti scores an open goal from six yards out. -
He played really well, putting in some good crosses and a good goal. But, did he actually go past his man at all? Seemed he’d always run at them, then pass back, or cut inside to shoot round them. Would love to see him really take people on.

Hull City at home match thread

Well done City, and Liam. Much better second half, helped by the changes. Although we shouldn’t be in a position where about six players could have been deservedly subbed off. Good to see Mehmeti play with confidence and Vyner was outstanding. -

Nige did have us on the brink of the playoffs. A win against QPR puts us 2 points away. -

Really poor defensively. But for a great tackle by Vyner and O’Leary’s save, we’d be 4-1 down and probably worth it. There’s no plan b if passing it around doesn’t work and, apart from a decent 10 minutes, it hasn’t. -

This is much better. I can get behind this. Just need to take another chance. -

Sign of great squad togetherness… Cheers, Jon Lansdown. -

Jon’s got the selection tombola out of storage again, I see. -
That’s the usual Watford approach, to be fair.

Has decided to leave Twitter. Case of “getting out of the kitchen as he can’t take the heat”? Bet he’d still be there if Manning had won his first few. Real shame that someone else won’t seem to take accountability and communicate with the supporters.

This situation is entirely self-inflicted.
Dastardly and Muttley replied to Redland's topic in Football Chat
I live a little distance away and have three kids, so don’t often get the chance to watch the games. Have listened to every match religiously on the City app, though. Until today. Have completely lost interest and faith in the people that run the club. I’ll carry on supporting the team, but the people running the show are just not up to the job. -

That’s a top finish. -
Yep, so you look at the reasons why we didn’t? did we play them off the park and just fail at finishing? No. were we let down by a poor referee performance? No. were we surprisingly lacklustre and not set up correctly? Probably. That’s down to the coaching team and the players’ attitude. Neither were good enough today.
-
This squad of players are good enough to beat QPR away, that’s pretty much a fact. They were playing as a team under NP. The board deposed the leader of the team and the next performance is completely lacklustre. There’s going to be questions and rightly so. That performance was unacceptable and I’m certain it would have been better under either NP or even CF.
-
What an absolute joke. Get rid of an experienced manager and support staff, claiming it’s so we’d play front foot football and then the first performance is like this. Most new managers get a bounce or a honeymoon period, but really, that was an atrocious performance with nothing positive at all against one of the worst teams in the league. Lansdown and Tinnion have a lot to answer for.

Compensation for the other coaches, maybe. -
Liam Manning - CONFIRMED NEW HEAD COACH

Saw this. Embarrassing, I reckon. Takes the Mickey out of our new manager’s status and then goes on to spell Peyton Manning’s name wrong. Shame, as they’ve done decent ones before. -

It’s their home kit in their home stadium. Luton should have figured this out and have the stewards in different colours. It must be the same every game.
