  1. I live in Maidenhead and have three kids who’d all want to go if I went. It adds up to a day worth well over £150 in petrol, food and tickets if we all go and, right now, I can’t justify it. Prices are too high everywhere, City included. Didn’t miss a home game when I was in Bristol from around 1998-2008 but now I just can’t afford it. And that’s with a decent job as a primary school Headteacher.
  2. Agreed. As a teenager in Bristol, I used to attend some Glos CC cricket camps alongside Liam and his mates. Arrogant, smarmy little shite, he was. Doesn’t seem like anything‘s changed.
  3. This place is the best sometimes. Glad to hear you’re feeling a little better, Porto Red. Please remember there are plenty of people out there who will listen and help, and as others have said, OTIB isn’t a bad place to start! Feel free to drop a DM; or if you’re anywhere near Maidenhead (doubt it, given the username) then give me a shout to catch up sometime.
  4. Anyone worried that none of these reports mention a sell-on clause? Lots of £20m, rising to £25m with add ons, but haven’t actually seen a sell-on clause mentioned yet… Someone reassure me. ?
  5. Remember that Mehmeti was meant to be a target for this summer, we just got him early. Would we still be thinking that we need a replacement for Scott if Mehmeti arrived last week instead of January?
  6. I’m assuming people are mentioning Twine as they look at the number of games he played last year and didn’t realise he was injured?
  7. I don’t deny Wolves have a more illustrious history or that they’re bigger. Just currently, I don’t find them interesting. I think I could name three of their players: Bentley, Kilman and Costa. They’re just a pretty dull team, never competing at the top end, mostly avoiding the bottom. If you asked 100 random people to name all 20 teams in the Premiership, I reckon Wolves would be one of the least mentioned teams. They’re, currently, dull and forgettable.
  8. At least there’s a story behind Luton and Bournemouth. Luton, the plucky ex-non league team who’ve risen back from the dead. Bournemouth, the Russian nemesis origin story. Wolves. A gold shirt? That’s it.
  9. I hope he doesn’t go to Wolves. Just don’t like them. The most forgettable and pointless of all the current Premier League teams. Nothing interesting about them at all.
  10. Have a look at his Twitter. May be one of those who deletes where they’re wrong, but he seems to get a lot right.
  11. I don’t think many are claiming we’re bigger than Bournemouth, just expressing concern over this move. He could end up like Lloyd Kelly, tipped for the top but never got that move after going to an unfashionable club. Yes, he’s had a good career, but he was tipped for England caps just like Scott.
  12. So, if the player leaving is announced first, does that mean Derby will announce Knight leaving at the same time as we announce Wilson? ?
  13. I don’t think you can base a recruitment strategy on “what if these guys get injured?” If they get injured, we’ll use youngsters to replace them. Yep, they’ll be a drop in quality but the youngster could step up. Three alternatives to this approach: 1: sign a first-team quality player to sit on the bench. Would cost a fee and wages. 2: replace our starting strikers and keeper with someone better. If you’re going to spend, why not upgrade? Costs money though. 3. Get a loan player in as back up. Pearson doesn’t seem to like developing other teams’ players though, and these deals often require playing time guarantees. In our current position, going with what we’ve got seems quite sensible unless we can upgrade at an affordable price.
  14. He’s just signed a new contract at Maidenhead. Fans weren’t best pleased.
  15. Got a few contacts here at Maidenhead - they’re due 20% of any Max Kilman sale. Huge number for them if he goes for £35m.
  16. Man City stepping it up… (for Rice, that is) https://twitter.com/skysportsnews/status/1671984212541427714?s=46
  17. Not a chance he’ll be here in August. Too many rumours swirling already.
  18. Man City about to bid for Rice. Still think West Ham is Scott’s most likely destination.
  19. Only 8? That’s not enough depth for Ashton. He’ll buy at least another three.
