  1. After the way Bristol and Bath have allegedly scuppered Gloucester's foreign investment today, I'll certainly be cheering on London Irish.......
  2. Remember saying to the missus when we were 5 down at Swansea in Tinnion's last game in charge, that a couple more might be humiliation and resignation / sacking. Still not quite sure I can hope for this now given our goal difference is still one of the few positives, plus sadly it won't make any difference.....
  3. Blimey reactions are harsh. Only seen Derby and this admittedly and can see why we've done well ( good technical football) and why I thought tonight would be tough (new manager first game for oppo and Warnock). Didn't play well but one huge chance and we take a point. This game doesn't make us crap or Certs to go up. COYR.
  4. Oh Glossy Glossy. Glossy Glossy etc watching on Cricinfo almost as exciting as teletext!
  5. have to say though his words after the game to Atherton were pretty classy. Plus he (as captain) has hada lot to deal with in terms of the effects of Tom Maynard's death. Still enjoy humming the occasional 'oh if Batty plays for England so can I' mind....
  6. Was fist pumping going down the M5 after Glaws won, on way home to Exeter after the debacle at the Gate. Sure people I was overtaking thought it was road rage!
  7. Good win for Glos but let's see how we get on when we're next defending a total......
  8. Last ball wasn't short enough i reckon
  9. Looked like a length ball swung to leg. So frustrating given Miles had really pulled it back from poor start to the over. Still only just cleared boundary but good enough hit
  10. At least Norwell, Miles and Taylor are young so COULD get better, even Howells and Smith are young-ish. But really it boils down to investment and competition. If we had those things we wouldn't be employing the amount of journeymen we do or pros at the end of their careers. Marshall, Jones, Fuller, KNB......
  11. Klinger had the look of a man deciding not to come back next season. Given our mediocrity who can blame him?
  12. Yep, only takes 1 good over and it's game over. Norwell could be it
  13. Why did we sign him if Bracewell was going / about to be pushed?
  14. Yep, but not sure that membership has a massive impact on income in cricket - more about ECB funding and i guess capacity ( so Test grounds in urban areas do better eg 1 T20 match at the Oval generates big cash i'd imagine)? V happy to be proved wrong on this though.
  15. We'll last season div 1 included yorks, Durham, warks, lancs, nots, Middlesex - all test grounds. Of the others only Glamorgan haven't been in div1 recently. Surrey, Hants have all thrown cash at players but I guess my point ( and irritation) is other counties who manage to pay top dollar and attract top (one day / T20 in particular) players. Dare I mention who I'm getting at ( a certain Christ Gayle?!!). Look, Somerset are well run but how can they be attracting better players than Glos? I just want glos to be competitive I guess.
  16. I don't believe that some clubs are following the wage cap. I also don't believe that if SL went to GCCC with a funding proposal (that was put to members) that it wouldn't have a shout at being accepted.
  17. Sorry to raise an old chestnut raised elsewhere, plus I know this might annoy some fellow reds, but unless Steve L starts formalising the bristol sport relationship with Glaws CCC, the latter is never going to compete financially.....
