From the Athletic: This summer, relegated clubs Southampton, Leicester City and Leeds United have cashed in and sold a combined 15 players for almost £300million — compared to around £144million of sales made by the other 21 teams in the division. In 2022, Burnley, Watford and Norwich Citymade around £119million combined from sales Article is Basically saying that there is a premium selling price on players who have played in the Prem. So Lavia, say, goes for £58m while Scott goes for £25m. Now perhaps that’s not the best comparison but the point is that in addition to parachute payments the clubs coming down also make a tonne of cash selling on players, even allowing for buying replacements. Stating the obvious? Maybe. But just another factor showing how difficult the financial competition is to get out of this league (in general before anybody says Luton ?)

Oooo I know - turn us into a team better suited to away then home, just like that LJ team! oh wait, he has already! ?? ?

It’s a nice theory and if it helps great, but the team seemed and seem fairly tight already? Not sure a Pearson team would be anything else really.

Channel 0117 -
As an aside (and just checked this), commentary is on BBC Radio Wales on channel 0117 if you have Sky (but note it also says you won’t be able to get it via BBC Sounds) Presumably might be able to pick this upon some other formats like Freeview?

Think you’ll find it’s actually Monsieur Papa Dix-Pourcent ? -
Agree he normally isn’t rooted to his line but thought he was for the header which hit the post on Friday (which admittedly he saved with his legs). But overall I think he’s a competent keeper at this level and has improved.

Yes!

The one they wore on Monday reminded me of a great line from Half Man Half Biscuit: ‘ooooo he’s here again. The man with the gaffer tape’s arrived’.

As Half Man Half Biscuit once sang: Oooo here’s again, the man with the gaffer tape’s arrived….

And Big Dave. ?

‘They seemed only interested in like minded individuals.’ That really is the biggest load of BS. Violent, hugely anti-social individuals who make decent minded fans reluctant to go to games. -
All we can do (given where we are in the financial non-prem food chain) is: 1. Hope said player behaves with a bit of dignity, tries their best when here, doesn’t openly agitate for a move and says the right things when they do go. 2. We get at least the price we want for the player. So in terms of Kelly, Semenyo and Scott it’s tick, tick, tick. These 3 add to our growing reputation for developing players (both our own and other team’s) and selling them on. So I’d say we should be happy with both the model we have and how successful we are becoming in putting it into practise.

Didn’t see the game today but apart from free kicks Brennan was miles superior. IMHO. -

I’d imagine the squad we have now buys us a seat in the top 10.
