  1. It really doesn't matter what the sport is, confidence breeds confidence, turn a bad streak around you can pull it back. Generally most teams be it football, cricket, rugby, Yank Football, Skittles, the actual difference between most teams in terms of quality is minimal, the big difference is self confidence.

I have always felt you can see the structure Manning is trying to put in place, there have been a couple of games his team has been smashed,, apart from that we have been in every game, the only downside I have seen is self confidence to potentially slow down the approach play and think what we wan t do with the final ball.. when  you are in form you don't need to slow it down and think, it all comes naturally.

Lets be honest good or bad results, I don't think any of us can say the players are downing tools for him.. that for me is a good sign.  The hunger to defend  has never been in doubt for his time in charge, something Pearson installed, and still seems high, you cannot legislate for individual mistakes, but from what i see, they looks a team, if you like what they are producing on the pitch or not

Improved the stadia but made nowhere near the impact an owner with his money should've done on the club's on-field progress.

That's my verdict on Steve Lansdown.

It wouldn't be impossible, with the wrong appointment,  for us to go down this season either. Undermining everything Pearson was building. I had no such fears before yesterday. Now, well there are worse clubs in this division, but a real doozy of an appontment could add us to their ranks.

I have never felt the guy had a clue other than being in it for his own vain agenda.

Got a stand named after him,job done.

Now **** off amd let some worthy of having a stand named after him.

Let's not forget the single ownership rules to stop financial melt down that he ripped up. So all this debt is squarely on him.

He is a complete arse in my book

I think the Holden debacle is what sticks in many minds.

For me it goes back to around judge me on Tinnion Millen lies and stadium lies. I won't start on Coterill or Holden bullshit

It's been evident for over a decade, but people seem to have blown hot air up the lansdowns arse because of money put in.

Money is not everything, you need to read the signs to see if someone is good for your club or not, and it has been evident for a long time to me they are a useless bunch of lying *****

  4. So is it correct they are advertising for a headcoach? ripped out the whole head coach supporting structure, and are potentially putting in DOF who failed as a manager and previous role was a soccer school coach for kids in the South of Spain.

There is a reason I  have not set a foot in AG for nearly 12 years, giving the reason the "Lansdowns" as the reason why.

Scott my fave City LB of all-time (my time)….and we’ve had some good-uns

Mine is still Matty Hill, left or left centre back. Shit technique, covered all our centre backs at the time and made them look better than they were. Gave his all with a smile on his face. Top man for me

But with favouritism aside, it would be Scott all day

    Fair summary.

Scott also played in an era when hard tackles were seen as fair game & he was excellent at them. Good in the air, too.

Always rated Leaning above Sinclair, who was too short & more prone to letting in a shot that he should have saved than Andy, for me.

Agree with all of that, sinclair came in did the job and was hard to drop on form  but I think leaning was better

Scott a class above and that is saying something with out left backs over the years. Top drawer

  7. Don't rraĺy care for the Leicester bashing, they came down and were dog shite the whole way down, the have sold and added and are dominating.

Yes don't agree with the powechute payments , but credit where due, they had their pants pulled down last season and have reacted well, it could have easily gone the other way, and says to me they have bought the right players sho want to fight to get back to the prem.

Money or no money, the attitude needs to be right.  And you have to hand it to them.. if it continues

Loved Martin Scott, solely as a defender I would argue that he was actually the best of that very long line of excellent left backs (Barnard, Brennan & Bell).

Leaning was a decent keeper who didn’t cope too well with the new back pass rule, but purely as a goalkeeper he was pretty good & of course he saved that Holloway penalty..

No surprise to listen to them here where they come across as decent blokes, which I am sure they are.

To be honest Scott aslo put most wingers to shame with his crossing.. that wasn't half bad, and his pens were pretty good. I'd have him as our best left back, if defending was the main concern for the past 40 years

Leaning, well it was all there for him but a squirt called Sinclair took it off him in the most important season then neither really to be seen again after Welch's arrival, the original ball playing keeper, prone to the od 30 to 40 yard howler!

This might be an unpopular opinion but am I the only one finding all this hilarious. The prem has been doing this to other leagues for years and now im loving seeing all the plastics up in arms as their players are jumping ship .

Agree 100% its exactly what the Premier league did, but as we live here we are a bit blinkered to it.  I would love if what happened to Italy happened to us, the knock on effects to not only European football but also teams aspiring to play on a level playing field in this country is much needed have been massively hampered by the PL IMO

  10. if you are using any emails for confidential messages I would recommend signing up for proton mail, you get 1 email address a certain amount of free storage it is fully encrypted.  They have paid for tiers as well, but i have never found the need and use it purely for confidential email, which doesn't exactly get filled up quickly.

Any other general emails which you don't really care if they get compromised then use anything out there, they will all leach your they are all pretty much the same. if you happen to use a lot of google products go with Gmail I guess. I wouldn't trust any of the big vendors with confidential messages though.

    Anyway that's my twopenneth

  11. Rest in Peace Colin.  Many moons ago while at uni I used to work behind the bar at Glos Cricket club in the summer months.

He was certainly one of those blokes happy to chat to anyone and help out if he had the time to do so. I have to say a genuinely nice bloke. We've lost a good un here.

    Condolences to the family.

The Ade Akinbiyi comparison with Semenyo, the former had a terrible time at Leicester iirc, let's hope Semenyo fairs better. Just did not work for him when he moved to Leicester (Akinbyi).

That said he is often hyped as all time terrible but 11 goals in 58 isn't all thst terrible. The way his time there is often spoken about though I assumed his record would have been worse.

Leicester made the mistake there, they bought Ade and immediately sold Guppy, if they kept Guppy as well i reckon Ade would have thrived off of balls slung in for him to attack.  Guppy was up there if not better than Beckham when it came to crossing

    Just evolving with the times

We'll still need a screen to watch our content on, we've not really had TV as we knew it for many years already

Indeed, think Sky glass, completely useless unless you have sky and a ;pretty shit product, but you can see the way it is likely to go.  you will be buying glass panels to stream content.. who will own what? Will TV makers be buying the tv programme producers or vice versa?

  14. Something that just works go with Apple, ideally the rest of your tech in your house needs to be apple to get the most out of it.  You pay a premium though, and I am not sure its worth it for ease of use, but I can understand them being the go to tool for those who are not interested in tinkering and just want a easy user experience.

Personally I like Samsung (great screens).. but I end up rebuilding it so its not full of vendor bloat.

If you go with a pixel you will get all the latest android updates much quicker than any other android phone... and you "should" get the best Android experience as the phone is bult for Android, rather than being shoehorned in to a phone brands such as Samsung, Nokia Huawei Sony etc etc etc

  15. I Remember meeting hlm in the Works many moons ago and offering him the chance to play in goal for our exceptionally shite 5 aside team. I was going to ask Coles to play but he was to busy ogling some grilf! Now I think we were both the worst for wear, but he seemed up for the challenge :)

He has got to be one of the most likable guys I have met, just shading Kevin Nugent as one of the most approachable affable guys to have pulled on the shirt for City.

Top man,  top player  just as well we had some cracking players dropping raking ball from the left into feet or for him to run onto, he picked the right era to join Ciry to make the most of his game.

It didn't take him long to realise reading was shite!
