About generation1

  1. Stewards playing a dangerous game

suggest that before getting heavily critical of the stewards you have ago at doing the job yourself.probably the most thankless job there is. anyway as mentioned earlier there would be no need for stewards if people behaved in a sensible manner and kept within the rules
  2. Cardiff - Back to 12 Noon on Saturday!

not sure if mentioned before as have not read whole thread but should we make the Prem how are the Police goimg to cope with the multiple changes of days/times needed by the channels then
  3. Nathan Baker - Discipline

time we had some bite in the side we have been too nice for too long. we need points not praise. anyway we now have the defenders to take any suspensions in our stride.

be interested to put faces to the forum names, a couple have P.M. me to talk , anyone else interested in letting me know who you are please do so. your I.D.wil remain our secret

thanks for all the kind comments ,glad to know so many enjoyed it. it was not a lack of goodwill from City that brought about its end but rather that other clubs stopped doing it. as mentioned it was maybe a lower league thing but despite the long hours we loved doing it. sadly Lynn and Carol are no longer with us and we have also lost that great man Steve Webb who used to do the ground tours and join us on away trips .could it be done again?maybe but the format would need drastic changes.

My name is John and with my wife Claire and a few others we started and ran these junior clubs for over 20 years. some of the people involved are still around ( Kate Masters ,Jean and Joe Reeves) some have sadly passed on and the others seem to have lost their passion for City. whilst the cubs were going we ran subsidised trips for our young members with the clubs agreeing swops of tickets to keep the cost down, we fed the youngsters who visited us and gave them ground tours and played friendly football games against them. this burst of memory has been brought about by our recent trip to Watford who were one of the better clubs at this. I am proud to say that we were one of the last clubs to do this type of thing but have a yearning for the way things used to be. am I alone in missing the way some things were and wanting more of what has passed
  7. Youth development. Puzzled? I am.

suggest everyone listens to Tinnion interview and learns what the club is trying to do
  8. Hinds Nominated

  9. Hinds, Moore and Morrell join Cheltenham

leaving the family connection out is difficult but I am sure Fergusan jnr was helped out by his dad from time to time however I think that the larger picture is being ignored here , while everyone is talking about where we should send them perhaps we should look at the pattern which is emerging . in Bath ,Cheltenham and Yeovil we are starting to develop a feeder club system where we can farm out players for development in leagues where we otherwise have no control. whats to say that we will not also get the pick of any promising players they have by this connection
  10. Kelly in England U20 Squad

well done , deserved on the standard he showed at Watford. the next player we will have to fight to keep
  11. Flint

when they came out for the warm up he looked far away but once the game started it was the Flint of old , no lack of effort and trying to win everything anyone notice that second half he was taking a position on the touchline to head Frankies kicks back across field and keep them in play ?
  12. Lloyd Kelly

all the youngsters were good last night but he stood out. sorry if some do not agree but to me it showed the strength in depth that we are developing. buying young players and bringing on our own was always touted as being the way forward so perhaps our management are getting some things right
  13. "Taxi for Johnson"

opinions are like a******s everyones got their own and most of the time they just pass on a lot of s***
  14. Team for tonight (Merged)

woodrow is cuptied, played for Fulham in first round
  15. Happy Clappers

perhaps we should have 2 forums , one for happy clappers and one for moaners then we would not fall out. mind you happy clappers would not admit to being one and moaners would say they had been put on the wrong forum
