  1. Not sure but it must have been a horrible experience for them, they were just young girls at the end if the day and nothing should have deserved that treatment..
  2. Looked petrified sadly, no need, dragged them out in the 88th minute too, why? Thought the one looked under 16 too…!
  3. Was there really any need to treat away fans in that way, especially the young girls they dragged out? They wonder why there is little respect but they handled several situations badly. Continually stood in the way blocking views too, and they didn’t like being told - felt like we were the enemy today!
  4. So pleased to hear matters are progressing, sadly, C is becoming more and more common, and like many of us, when you face your own mortality for the first time in your life, it’s terrifying..
  5. Thought James made a massive difference today. To be fair Leicester should have been two or three ahead before we scored, but it’s about taking your chances. Pleased with the win but whatever the result I would have clapped them off, all we ask if that they put a shift in and do their best, and they did just that.
  6. I’ve been a ST holder for over 30 years and have seen some bad times, some worse that this - at the end of the day though whichever way I summarise this, us fans have been really treated badly over the last several months, and all things considered, it’s a results based game and we have been more than short changed. I haven’t looked forward to going to the Gate for ages, and being honest, expect tomorrow to be another defensive, boring game..
  7. Completely agree and I sincerely hope it ends up positive, on the opposite side though I can’t help feel a massive disconnect with the powers that be and I can’t wait to draw a line one way or another..
  8. Okay, I have just listened to the LM pre-Leicester press conference, and my first thought is, “and breathe…” Sincerely hope the tactics are right tomorrow and we can get behind something positive on the pitch, that said I can’t help feeling after listening to that, that all things considered, and put simply, all things considered, this is just a results based business. He just doesn’t take a breath and is full of analysis, analysis and analysis! So, tomorrow, we hope to be singing positively and watching a game with some sort of entertainment value, or it might just be that we will be reflecting recent performances and be destined for “Liam Manning, your football is shit”… Lets hope we get something positive to sign about and a result we feel leaving happy about!
  9. Here we go back to the LJ days again, box entries..?
  10. Think the emotions are related to box entries, there’s a right way and a wrong way..?
  11. Did we beat Southampton, not sure that’s been mentioned at all since
  12. Hi Jerry, are we also able to ask why those of us in the SS are facing such a hike when compared with all other stands? Seems unjust...
  13. Sorry, thought I would try to add a bit of much needed humour, was aimed at Liam being a Learner
  14. Thought I should add a sensible contribution for a change, perhaps we each take one of these along and hold it up when Leicester are giving us a right royal stuffing shortly?
  15. Rumour has it the Bears are interested, his accurate kicking out for line-out position is very accurate..
  16. Completely agree, the football today was once again awful, and I am sorry Liam, it’s down to you, he keeps on about “always improving” but put simply, we aren’t, a boring nil nil draw would have been a fair result today..
  17. It’s the Teflon style and attitude that is getting to me. I want Liam to succeed, but it was “great” four games ago, we had the odd decent performance but I, and many others, are just bored and not enjoying your football at all... Was not great sorry...
  18. I posted positively as I thought all of the players at least put a shift in last night and gave it their all. Okay they lost but in reality they gave a top side a good game. I have no doubt that another performance like that on Sunday will result in point/s. I’ve been a ST holder for other 30 years and seen some terrible times, far worse than this. I hoped we had turned a corner after the Southampton game but clearly not. The route cause of where we are is poor senior management of the club over several years and a lack of investment in the team, we have reduced overall wages but at the cost of quality I am afraid (I appreciate FFP played a part). I will forever appreciate Steve L for steadying the club financially, creating a great training facility and providing us with a Premier ready stadium, but his sell by date was two or three years ago - my fear is the tangled mess this club is legally which will put so many investors off - but there we go, I sincerely hope some form of buy out news arises one day soon and we get the required investment into the playing staff to take us that bit further. For Manning, happy to give him a chance, but the more I see and hear puts me off him sadly, all I can hear is LJ type tech speak and taking no responsibility.
  19. Okay, beaten in the end by a side who were better than us, but fair play, we gave it a real go. Along with most others, I’ve been really disappointed after the last three games but tonight felt different. Finally, well done to our fans who made the journey, horrible place to get to and it takes flipping ages.
  20. Levels is a guarantee but I expect box entries to start coming up..
  21. Frank Lampard anybody
  22. At least you’ve actually been into the Premier League and achieved something though, with Lansdown now wanting to run Bristol City as a business i.e. sell any asset ASAP to help balance the books, we will not get anywhere until our owners move on, but then, an investor will want to buy a football club and not rugby and basketball teams too!
  23. Like most on here I am gutted by today’s result (and the last three terrible games overall) and can’t help but feel down as I suspect Manning football is always going to be predictable and boring. That said I believe the importance for now is that we need at least 11 points from our final 11 games and can now see it being really close, sadly, we are looking down now out of necessity. I see it as follows... Tue, Mar 5th – Ipswich Town A LOSS Sat, Mar 9th – Swansea City H DRAW Sat, Mar 16 – West Bromwich Albion A LOSS Fri, Mar 29th – Leicester City H LOSS APRIL Mon, Apr 1st – Plymouth Argyle A LOSS or DRAW Sat, Apr 6th – Sunderland A LOSS Wed, Apr 10th – Blackburn Rovers H DRAW Sat, Apr 13th – Huddersfield Town H WIN Sat, Apr 20th – Norwich City A LOSS Sat, Apr 27th – Rotherham United H WIN MAY Sat, May 4th – Stoke City A DRAW I see us getting around 9 or 10 points more, bit concerning hey
  24. So, this Season is all but over, and it’s highly unlikely we will do anything other than finish mid-table. When I hear all this from Sid and Lansclown about having a Top-Six side and understanding recruitment needs, I just wonder how many players the fans feel are capable of being part of a side who could push for promotion next season? For me, players capable of being part of a promotion challenging season: Max O’Leary - yes, but needs competition. Ross McCrorie - yes, one of our own fighters with a strong will to win, also capable. Cameron Pring - yes, a player who regularly shows signs of quality and who could play higher if he could stay fit. Kal Naismith- yes, not sure what has happening but showed really quality when he did have a run in the team. Rob Atkinson - yes, but sadly I feel injuries will always play a part in his career. Matty James - yes, I would offer him one more season as we don’t heat have a player capable of replacing him. Joe Williams - no, has played well since “playing for a new contract” but whilst he looks special on times, lacks consistency. Harry Cornick - no, one of life’s friends but doesn’t offer enough in terms of end product. Andy King - no, coaching perhaps but that’s it, playing days are behind him. Anis Mehmeti - no, lacks an end product and doesn’t add sufficient quality overall. Jason Knight - yes, great engine and leaves nothing on the pitch, not sure he’s a number 10 though. Tommy Conway - yes, but he so needs an intelligent footballer alongside him. Rob Dickie - yes, POTS for me so far. Mark Sykes - yes, needs to play in an attacking role though. Ayman Benarous - no, was neck and neck with Scott when they started but injuries have prevented further development. George Tanner - no, suspect in both defence and going forward, sometimes special but often found wanting. Sam Bell - not sure on Sam as on times looks special, would be a yes if a Manager or Coach could breed confidence in him. Nahki Wells - no, has always been one of my favourite players, but hasn’t added sufficient value when recently given a chance. Stefan Bajic - no, hasn’t appeared as there must be concerns around his ability. Haydon Roberts - no, decent League 1 player for me. Zak Vyner - yes, often looks special but needs to be taught how to play out from the back. Scott Twine - yes, if we could get him fit, would love to see him here playing, set-plays and passing better than what we have. Liam Manning - no, another LJ for me with his box entries and technical comments that aren’t backed, coach but not to Manage. Lansdown Family - no, will always be grateful for everything they have done for the club, but a change at the top is well overdue, we need Bristol City back and investment into a competitive squad, the move to Bristol Sport hasn’t worked out well for anybody.
  25. I might be in the minority here but having enjoyed football in the 70’s and 80’s, I have to say this newer possession based football is just so bloody boring! I so miss players taking players on others and going in heavy, showing aggression, frustration and annoyance, like wearing the shirt actually meant something. It might help decent sides to win games (those like Man City who have the quality to deliver it competently) and dominate games but all the sideward and backwards football just lacks any form of entertainment, ours is often like in slow motion too sadly. I know that being a City fan probably doesn’t help as soon as we play some decent football with a degree of entertainment, we sell the players on that create it, but when I hear things like encouraging Manning / Keep-ball, it just fills me with dread. I can only see it getting worse as these so called “new thinking, younger managers and coaches” seem to be the preferred way forward. It was interesting to hear the QPR fans cheer today when they finally went more direct, after playing similar, boring football themselves. Unlike us though and on a different point, they could at least lump it forward to some big lads that could hold the ball up, the decision makers for us haven’t employed one of those for a few seasons which perhaps explains why we don’t have a Plan B - good job we are in safe hands at the top hey . On the positive side though, after such a crap afternoon, I was forced to open a nice bottle of red, happy days.
