  1. Well summed up. I was there too - a truly awful game of football. I too am astonished that I was watching professional footballers. Torquay’s two goals were out of character with the rest of the game. Thought their celebrations were OTT - you would have thought they’d won the Champions League!
  2. I assume you meant my reference to the away support ? My point is that Argyle took many more than City would take. We travel badly north of Birmingham. I’ve been to Rotherham six times and we never turn up. Even in 1990 when we pretty well secured promotion (super Bob) we only took around 300!
  3. good to see Plymouth win - as my local team - I Want them to do well but have lots of time for Rotherham. Friendly town which everyone unfairly derides and great memories of games at Millmoor - famously surrounded by a scrap yard on three sides. Great support tonight by Argyle btw - easily twice we took.
  4. I am. Going to Sunderland next week but can’t face tomorrow.
  5. tickets available online in the Lansdown.
  6. Wow. Perhaps get out more.
  7. Never underestimate the psychological boost of a win but that was a hard watch. i thought we were promised front foot attacking football but instead i see us slowing the game down at every opportunity. Max took an age over his goal kicks and when Pring was subbed he took an age to walk off (didn’t exit the pitch at the closest point) Talk about letting the opposition know you have zero confidence. We’re the bloody home team fgs!
  8. why is O’Leary taking so long over goal kicks? Front foot football or time wasting and hoping for a 0-0?
  9. Great band - very popular in Europe but never made it here. John Watts still touring but almost exclusively in Germany/Netherlands.
  10. Get Geoff to replace Manming? Solve two issues at once.
  11. Don’t give a sh*t about other team’s supporters views. Massive bit of BCFC heritage and very special memories for my family. I was too young to go but was astonished to hear my Dad being interviewed by Radio Bristol at Temple Meads on returning. He’s no longer with us but I will be thinking of him this afternoon. UTC.
  12. Smallest? Rotherham, QPR, Plymouth, Preston, Watford, Millwall. Swansea all smaller - have I misunderstood?
  13. I believe the picture of the goal was the first picture of a footballer on the front page of the Times. (It had no pictures at all on the front page until the 1970s). Given it’s the oldest and most famous newspaper in the world, some accolade). Also first item on the BBC 6 o’clock news. It was massive news.
  14. I think this is realistic but it doesn’t mean we don’t still dream/hope!
  15. Wonder if the ‘Boro fans know that he was in our books!
  16. you’re making me feel very old!
  17. If people are moaning about the performance after beating Boro away I’m quite pleased. Shows the progress we are making. i remember being at Ayresome Park when a Bob Taylor header secured our first win there in a lifetime!
  18. Twisted Lip on Baker Street in town is a great real ale pub, albeit a small one!
  19. But they take more away from home than us which is a bit disappointing imo.
  20. On the other hand, good to see him still going. I’m sure he has enough money to put his feet up. May well have lots to offer at that level.
