    VAR

The problem is that two of the decisions were so clear and obvious that the var not giving them you really do have to question the integrity of the decisions not to give them. Personally I think all of the first three should have been penalties by the rules of the game, not seen the fourth as didn't watch the rest of the game so can't comment on that at all. All of them are understandable for the on field referee to not be certain and not give them but being on the receiving end of not being awarded them then its impossible not to question whether something untoward has gone on. The statement from forest is taking things a bit far and is probably doing themselves no favours, but the fact that you are not allowed to question officials publicly despite consistant and quite flagrant incompetence, you might as well all out as the punishment is likely to be the same and at least it highlights it. Its been said before but if these types of decisions were happening in Italy or some south american country you would be fairly sure some brown envelopes had been passed along somewhere.
  2. Without the benefit of watching injury time back in full I think that less time was played than the 5 minutes shown and that full time could have actually been called early. I remember at the time on 95 minutes feeling like there had only been about a minute of play so far in stoppage time. I was also expecting to see at least 6 minutes from my general feel from all of the stoppages, injuries and time wasting during normal time. So i think time keeping was fine. In general I think the ref was fine is as much as I think that there were some soft fouls given but it was pretty consistant in what was a foul or not and the blatant dives and play acting were ignored. As always there were 1 or 2 head scratching moments, particularly the drop ball when we had possession. I didn't see what happened when she fell over just heard the whistle so no idea if that was poor or something that couldn't be avoided. Summary.... seen better, seen a lot lot worse. The reason Huddersfield didn't win was more because they only created one clear opportunity than the ref awarding us a 50:50 pen at the end.
  3. I just tried to forward a family members ticket to myself, was not able to do this at all, whereas when I did it earlier in the season (maybe Millwall) I was able to forward the ticket to me and get the pdf to use it. Instead I've had to get said family member to log on and forward the ticket to me so that I can add to my wallet. I assume the inability to do what I was previously able to do on the linked accounts is related to tye changes to the issuing of pdf's. There can't be any cost difference between receiving a pdf or receiving a digital ticket that you can still scan anyway. Having to phone up for a pdf when required just makes the whole process more expensive if anything. The queues are much longer and slower at the turnstyles since this season and all of the delays are from people not being able to swipe rather than scanning of qr or barcodes not working so this just seems like even more of a retrograde step. I'm struggling to see what the upside from all this is but there are definitely downsides even if relatively minor.
  4. My brother who I usually go with went travelling to oz then had a couple of things on recently so missed some recently. He has been to West Ham home, Southampton home and Leicester home (he may have been to a couple of early manning games but I can’t remember. It’s hard to square that off with every other game virtually where after 10 minutes I message him to say this is shit. he is in a very select number of people that have enjoyed manningball. on topic of the question though, 2 wins has not changed my outlook, I am still likely to renew at the latest moment
  5. Ipswich have a relatively poor defence and he is a big part of that. Quality going forwards, shortcomings defensively. But Ipswich are so Spawny. Morsi did enough to pick up two yellows 1st half, Southampton get an incredibly dubious red, and a scrambled winner. Not sure where they are right now with ffp but assume they need to go up now as they are punching above their quality and got to feel its a bit now or never for them.
  6. Don't think plymouth troubled us at all. After about 10 minutes when they'd blown out of puff we were just better than them without battering them. The plymouth commentary were clutching a bit during the first half saying a Plymouth goal was coming. I don't think Plymouth set up at all like the teams where we have struggled but they still really didn't look very good/we were better than them.
  7. It looks poor but I'm not sure how often there will be a number 44 playing for Germany.
  8. Surely the precedence from Bristol Rovers only being in the bottom 2 for 30 minutes of a season and still being relegated from the football league should stand here. It is a about as strong an argument to say they shouldn't be punished for a breach because they were only in a breach for a little while whilst benefitting for the whole of the breach period with the services of all the players they overspent on. Fact is they were in breach at the exact time that the rules say they shouldn't be in breach. Are Forest suggesting that the sale proceeds should be taken out of their 2023/24 numbers so 2 more years down the line they have an extra £xm of headroom so they can get double the benefit from the sale as well if they want the punishment gone for 22/23. There is a lot of mental gymnastics that seems to be going on from reporters, fans and clubs arguing against these punishments.
  9. Is it just me who hasn't received any communicatuon for season tickets renewals? I get most/all of the other e-mails but I haven't received anything and I know I have in the past. I am holding off for now, there are 6 games between now and the deadline so I definitely wont be renewing until after those games. I will probably renew but this is the first time in close to 30 years I feel like I'm just not that bothered. The only problem is that if Manning goes the four or five people involved in getting him here are still going to be around so it doesn't guarantee anything will change.

    When to do it

He's probably not the messiah but its not as ridiculous as sacking Pearson and replacing him with Manning.
  11. I watched the first 25 or so then only caught bits and pieces after that, so a bit of a caveated post but from what I saw i would say we've been worse under Manning and it was probably one of the better performances recently. However if this is one of the better performances it just reflects how bad we have been recently.
  12. Passing accuracy can't be the be all and end all of it as the passes being taken on need to be looked at too. E.g. there was one in the Swansea reel where he almost put someone through on goal from deep but was unsuccessful vs. 100 square passes across the back line, inaccuracy there can have very different consequences.
  13. First half was awful today. I can only assume that manning instructed everyone to stand off swansea all first half, even before the changes in the 2nd half we'd got slightly better by actually pressing and chasing in midfield rather than just the front 2 doing it. Roberts and sykes then added the quality that we'd been lacking. We still got cut open and swansea should have punished us before we actually created any openings in the 2nd half. At the moment that result is papering over the cracks. Its just so boring most of the time, that result has just slowed the decline rather being a turning point. In reality it was two poor sides playing it out today. We managed to edge it.
  14. Players haven't downed tools, I think it says a lot about their professionalism because they must know this is shut. Boos are squarely aimed at Manning and the bunch if ****s that appointed him. I can't see the players putting up with the boos and stick for much longer.
  15. Can you sack a manager at half time? Manning can't keep blaming the players, he keeps picking most of the same ones every week and this shit gets served up every week.
  16. Yeah that was my point, and why favourites was in quote marks.
  17. The other way to look at it is when two teams below us play each other then one of them at least is guaranteed to pick up points. Each in turn if we don't win a game before of the swansea, plymouth, blackburn, huddersfield & stoke games are 6 pointers. Those 5 games are in turn massive if we haven't picked up form. And losing all of them leaves only wednesday birmingham and qpr not within 3 points of us from those 5 games. West Brom, leicester and norwich all have high aspirations and likely will be a good team in need of 3 points still when we play them. At the moment its only the sunderland and rotherham games where likely the teams will only be playing for pride. Swansea game is massive as lose it and it will prove once again we can't beat teams in games we are favourites against and would take us a step closer to relegation. Win it and we probably would be one big step closer to gettinv the points to guarantee survival. I think I said on here somewhere pre the soton game I'd seen enough to think we'd get enough points to stay up, but at the moment I have turned to think I've seen enough to think we might not get enough points to stay up. Sunday is huge because it's another 5 games after that until we're going into a game where we are "favourites" currently.
  18. None of our chances came from periods of possession or breakimg them down, they were all from quick balls forwards in one form or another, probably 2, 3 max 4 touches by players from possession gained to chance. None of this addresses the massive issues under manning against the poorer sides of the division. Turning up against the better sides of the divvision and giving it a go but ultimately losing is great if you are picking up points elsewhere where you should but we aren't.
  19. Difference between manning and mckenna... mehmeti causing a lot of problems so Ipswich bring on a dedicated right back and we looked toothless from then on..... burns causing all manner of problems so we persist with a not fully fit and blowing pring to the bitter end. We looked dead on our feet with fresh legs needed, sykes didn't look close to fit. King, mebude would at least have offered us that even when 3.2 down to chase game for 10/15 minutes at the end. We do look a lot less fit as a team now.
  20. Positives and negatives from that. At no point having g9ne in front were we at any point in control, couldn't create even half a sniff ince behind. Nothing has changed from that perspective. We were good value to go 2.1 up though. Still Manning out. Pring had gone at the end, roberts should have come on. I think manning had the tools to win it or at least draw from where we were but we really did crumble at the end.
  21. Sykes made the 2nd but he really does not look fit at all. 2 goals really down to him. Gone to pot last 15 of this game.
  22. This is down to the ref. 2 massive decisions both wrong. Red now pen
  23. Should be a red all day long. Understand its hard for ref to spot it.
