  1. On trial at Derry & OOC here in Dec. Immense talent but could never stay fit. Shame but with the emergence of Bakinson, Evans & Morton looks like the Bedminster born lad will move on to pastures new. Good luck to him.
  2. Still injured but under contract.
  3. 18 months left of his contract, won’t sign a new deal as (allegedly) wants to move back to London. The loan to Newport was always in the hope he impresses thus drumming up as many interested clubs as possible. Chelsea have been aware of Antoine since Filton. This is the window of max value. We sell & reinvest - Good business! And if it is Chelsea, a club we have good relations with then even better. Cue AS signing for United....
  4. Mr Pop, Are you seriously considering Hegeler as an option? He hasn’t played any Chanpionship minutes since god knows when & barely plays for the U23’s. Fitness wise he would be miles behind the rest. I’m also led to believe he does more ‘coaching’ than ‘training’ during the week. He was available for transfer in the last window but their were no takers. If he isn’t gone in Jan then no doubt he’ll be released at the end of the season?!? A player like Hegeler would work in you’re 3 in CM but no chance it will be the man himself.
  5. Spot on JD. Jake has great technical ability but one paced & extremely slow. Not very tall but strong. He has a brain & can pick a pass so playing off a striker is where we will see him eventually or as you say maybe even deeper. We need to be patient with him (21 next month) as the boy has genuine quality.
  6. Still playing catch up after injury pre season along with settling in to a new club etc. This takes time. Having watched MW during his non league days (which wasn’t that long ago) & more recently at Inverness he makes things happen due to his warrior like style, work rate & desire as opposed to any real skill and/or technique. A nasty bugger at times as well, which I like & probably what we've needed. He is not like a skillfull Eliasson who will beat players & whip in immaculate crosses. Watkins is a physical nuisance can play wide or uptop & is a goal threat, as proved today & during his time at Barnsley at this level. You don’t get much for a million nowadays he’ll become a reliable solid squad member for me.
  7. Last time Wiemann played through the middle was at Villa in the Prem where he bagged himself 12 goals. If he stays fit & next to Fam he could reach 20....
  8. DC on radio last night said there financially stretched so it’s a case of one out and ‘maybe’ one in. He won’t be there much longer....
  9. Do you rate O’Dowda Dave? Needs to stay fit & find an end product for me. At the minute he seems to promise the world but deliver **** all. I wouldn’t be surprised if we make a loan bid for Connor Hourihane especially after they signed the impressive McGinn. CH was on the bench Sat, Recommend him when at Plymouth. Just what we need next to MP. Strong, can break up play, gets stuck in & can create & score goals.
  10. I would also play 433 given the amount of wide players we have but can’t see him changing from his preferred 442/4411 anytime soon.
  11. I loved Smudger growing up. He knew his limitations & stuck to what he was good at. Watkins fancies himself as a player but he’s far from that.
  12. I think Dave could be right. MW is not a winger who will get to the byline & whip in a cross but more likely to cut inside, over run the ball but have an effect due to his determination & desire. Plenty of grass to run in to for Hunt on the outside. I’ve never saw him play upfront but can understand why LJ did play him there Sat for his physical attributes alone. Again I’m not expecting him to be some world beater but for a mill he could be a shrewd buy. Dread to think what moneys he’s on though as was on 23k at Norwich.....
  13. What can I say Bob, once a scout always a scout. We done a background check on him years ago and ‘allegedly’ he (MW) from players who played with him at Bath, Hereford & more recently, Inverness all said he’s a complete dick of a person but guess were have trust LJ/MA on this one.
