  1. Pretty much what their manager said post match according to the BBC website.
  2. Obscurest City Players

    Phil Starbuck
  3. Loan watch.

Yep but the thing is PB we don't know what other clubs were interested (If any) in our lads. Football's a very clicky game, it's a mates game we have connections with Nam, WSM, Bath etc. and need to use them which is exactly what are doing. I got no doubts at all if a L1 club was interested in Taylor Moore (especially after his 30+ games for Bury last season) then he would of gone their not to 'daddy's team' in L2.
  4. Loan watch.

Our management & coaching team clearly think so mate. Of course playing in L2 would be far more beneficial than playing Academy football for all the obvious reasons, you know that! Doesn't matter if the club are top or bottom it's all about getting minutes in a competitive division & all three will get that at Nam. They need to earn their stripes! Morrell's gone there with one league game under his belt 3/4 yrs ago, trained with his new team mates for a matter of days and ran the game (when it was played on the floor) like seasoned veteran. It's a confidence game and he's set his level now, up to him to keep it up. Taylor Moore is a defender who doesn't want to get hurt. He'll have to at that level or he'll get found out quickly. Freddie is raw & needs games.
  5. Loan watch.

Watched our lads at Cheltenham today. MOTM performance from Morrell who looked head & shoulders above everyone on the pitch. On the ball was neat & tidy always looking for a forward pass. Excellent decision maker. Off the ball was tigerish & put a shift in. Good talker. At one stage dropped a shoulder breezed past two players before hitting a shot just over. Standing ovation when subbed with about 10 to go. We'll played young un. Anyone who thinks Taylor Moore is playing beyond his level should of seen his performance today. Technically good as we know but he's a centre back (today) who doesn't want to head the ball or put his body on the line. It was two poor teams on show with majority of the game played in the air but he'll come up against much better teams than Stevenage. Made one sloppy short back pass towards the end where the striker nipped in but poked it wide. If he can man up there's a player in there somewhere but he needs this loan at this level. Hinds come on early 2nd half & looked sharp but had zero service. A couple of times was on the shoulder of the last defender but got ignored. @GrahamC Your man Eisa was quiet as he was last game by all accounts. He didn't look as sharp as I was expecting but TBF he's been plucked from park football now training full time has played a lot of games this last month with pressure on him now to provide the goals to keep Nam up after his excellent early start. Needs a rest & this where hopefully Hinds will step in & shine. Overall two poor teams on display but our lads will get game time their in a tough no nonsense physical league which long term will do them the world of good & exactly what each player needs at this stage in their development IMO.
  6. Our scouting set up.

Yeah I noted you mentioned Eisa the other day Graham. From clips I've seen he looks razor sharp & full of pace, very exciting. I'm due to watch our 3 loan lads at some point & when I do ill give you a report on Eisa.
  7. Frank Fielding

Cant get them all right Dave . In fact I was only chatting to our mutual friend recently saying I'm surprised he hasn't tapped you up for scouting games..............do enjoy your analysis of players, Marley Watkins & Pickford's distribution aside .
  8. Dilemma ?

Go out & splash the cash on Jackson Irvine, our squad will be pretty much complete then.
  9. Cauley Woodrow (Merged)

Beat me to it Phileas, was just about to say the same. I heard last week he (Woodrow) was dead cert to go back to Burton?!? Happy with this if true.
  10. Barnsley's end of season form

Roberts will be a big loss. The influential Josh Scowen also departed this summer, likewise Kent (loan return). Yiadom could also be gone by Saturday if Swansea step up their interest. Rookie manager trying to mould his own squad, it'll be a long tough season for Barnsley I feel.
  11. McCoulsky to Newport (loan)

Considering he hardly featured for Torquay last season this is a excellent move for him, hope he does well.
  12. Engvall

Exactly Cynic. Mistakes happen in the transfer market. IF management believe Engvall is a dud then get rid & move on....
  13. Potential right backs?

He can get fit pre season with us Graham :-). I'd take a gamble on a season loan.
  14. Joe Bryan on the move

He was. He also played left centre mid at home to Huddersfield season before last. They couldn't deal with his bravery & quick direct running. I remember seeing the experienced Dean Whitehead shaking his head many a time during that match as Joe flew past him each time. I come away from that game thinking this is the only position JB will excel in at this level (IMO). Never been given a run their unfortunately. A victim of his versatility.
  15. Potential right backs?

If fit & available I'd go for the Hull RB who was at Brentford. A better & younger version of Litts.
