  1. Would anyone actually class Reid as a 9 though ? Maybe given that we were reported to be in for him in January that this was a target all along with another striker ? I’d be delighted to see him back for the record.
  2. It really was a strange one today. I couldn’t fathom how we were allowing Fam to be so isolated. The long balls up to him and him hoping to knock it down to someone like Palmer coming in from deep. It seems such a useless tactic that I honestly thought the players weren’t doing what they had been told pre match. I didn’t think we’d set up like that with Fam as history tells us (particularly at home) that it doesn’t work. I was fully expecting to see an early change maybe even at half time as LJ looked to make the point that he wasn’t happy. When the changes didn’t come I can only assume it’s because that was how he’s set us up and that was how he wanted us to play! The other big worry for me today was how we just couldn’t cope with the Leeds press, clearly factoring in the long ball we felt that by hitting it up top early we’d catch Leeds out of position as they’d be pressing us and we could create chances. When that doesn’t work then you have to trust your ability on the ball and quick passing, to say a lot of our players were found out would be an understatement. Today is on LJ for me, wrong shape, wrong players and he’s falling back into that habit of looking at the opposition players and giving them to much respect. Clearly didn’t think our wide men would hurt the Leeds full backs. Picking COD tucked in was ridiculous to be fair. Not the start we all wanted, see you all for the next one though !!

I’m a big Marlon fan as he keeps us ticking but I agree he’s struggled last month or so. The issue we have is no one else can play the game in the formation LJ wants to play that Marlon does. He seems tired and considering the minutes he’s played this season it’s no surprise. Just hope he’s got one more ninety minutes in those legs on Sunday !!
  4. Quality has been in and out for me. Awful camera work again as well

As good a full debut as I can remember. Outstanding performance and linked the play so well. What a player!

The case study thing is true, I won’t go into to much but a mate who coaches for West Brom was telling me that Lloyd is someone that has been used as a case study to do with physical growth. The case study revolves around how he was the best football in his age group over a number of years and then he had a massive growth spurt and his game went downhill to such an extent that he could have been let go. City stuck with him believing that his game needed to catch up with the growth spurt he’d been through and luckily he came through. I think other coaches in the game are looking at Lloyd’s example as almost a blue print of how to deal with players who go through such a sudden and dramatic growth spurt as certainly in the past teams have let players go thinking that they had peaked when actually a change in coaching etc could have been beneficial. I assume that’s the case study he’s referring to.
  7. Not actually the case, Live football is not covered so no chance of listening to the game if you’re outside of the region.
  8. Perhaps I’m bitter, didn’t agree with the advantage and then because it’s saved call it back. Third goal the keeper is outside the box when he throws It and the forth goal was a foul on Hunt ( I may be bitter however)
  9. I said at the time (at the game) I thought Hunt was pushed from behind for the forth. Not defending him though (The irony) as he had a shocker tonight. Ref was awful and gave us nothing
  10. Really good support tonight, a rousing rendition of “Red Flag” in the second half was the highlight for me. Put the home fans to shame considering the scoreline
  11. Absolutely, The second goal was a clear foul. Assombalonga climbs all over the defender, two arms on the shoulders to hold him down. Webster stands up arms out to the ref who gives nothing, the other players walk back towards the centre circle. What Id like to see is a few more players making the point to the ref that he's missed the foul, Yes he will still give the goal but if there is that little bit of doubt in the back of his mind then maybe we get something later in the game to make up for it which we wouldn't have. When you watch that goal back its really telling how bloody nice a team we are, why we cant be a bit more savvy about these things I don't know.

    Ball Boys

I noted that with JM as well and it infuriated me at the time. The absolute horror tactical show on the pitch and our management teams response was to get at a ball boy in regards to getting it into play quicker, don’t get me wrong I know the little things like that could matter in a game where it’s on a knife edge but when you’re playing Watkins up top on his own and it’s not working I’d suggest you have other things to think about !!

    BCFC app

Yep the app just crashes for me as well. I’ll be binning it off at full time. Useless
  14. As someone who has watched Mo on numerous occasions I can tell you he is ready now. He works hard and scored goals in a very poor Cheltenham side last year. He’s very quick and strong and is decent enough with his back to goal. He’s never been bullied by league two defenders and I honestly think he has every chance of making the step up. Really pleased, according to someone within the club it will be officially announced on Monday. Terms have already been sorted already apparently and it’s a done deal.
  15. GJ and his brother get a percentage of the profit made on his sale, wonder if this would put us off? Any deal where the son buys a player from his father who then gets a cut along with his uncle would surely attract scrutiny.
