  1. City 13/10 on bet 365 looks pretty generous on current form.
  2. Yes it was a dump, but I have mainly good memories of it compared to the crap that was going to Bath to watch the derby games ,when Nigel Martin usually ensured we had nothing to celebrate. At Eastville I can so easily remember that 1-4 victory ,the infamous 1-0 down 2-1 up cup game(possibly my favourite ever),and the many and varied shenanigans associated with derby day and the precarious walk back to near Stapleton road station where my dad usually parked the car. I liked going to Eastville and although we haven’t played them much since they left ,the mem i associate with watching Bristol(rugby),is nowhere near the same. Glad I saw those times ,happy days.
  3. Very reminiscent of the S’OD,days ,for those of a certain age Joe Burnell would look like an outrageous maverick in this side.
  4. Your memory is poor ,as he didn’t attempt to trip him ,he did actually trip him ! Paul Hartley wasn’t very impressed as I remember.
  5. Great night ,good performance,to be fair that West Ham team tonight wouldn’t survive in the prem, but you can only beat what they send. Looking forward to Forest in the next round .
  6. Saw wales v west Germany in Cardiff in 1976,the kaiser scored in a 2-0 victory. Just looked at the team sheet on internet,a good few of that great west German side we’re playing that night, surprised they didn’t win by more.
  7. Well that was disappointing, out a 50p bet on bet 365 for draw…..can see the match on their app .
  8. Err Mcindoe was teatotal when he was with us.
  9. If we had an astute attacking England manager what could we achieve??
  10. Did the double over Arsenal that year. Also vital wins home to Leeds and Liverpool in the last 5 or so games set up that classic at Coventry. So lucky to have been around to see those few seasons in the promised land.Disappointing to think so many on here have not had the opportunity.
  11. Xmas day games finished in England in 1965 and in Scotland in 1971 My dad tells me he always went and they were very popular. Different times I guess.
  12. I reckon I saw all all of the home goals and about a third of the away. So many on here don’t think a bit of height up front is useful……I think it’s essential. Gives the defence one more thing to think about and cover ,as long as the team doesn’t resort to lazy long ball lumping. Loved the Cheese ,what a gun forward he was.
  13. I hope we did,no actual confirmation of the exact fee.
  14. Now Max getting a chance to join in the mediocrity . So many parts of the team need improving if we want to do more than just stay up.
  15. The ref suits the teams ,they are all putting in a dreadful performance. This is likely to end 1-0 ,just not sure who to.
  16. I am struggling to remember a less physical City team in my time .Little height ,no nasty aggressive b***ger ,every team needs some feisty players. I wouldn’t mind if the skill level was top drawer, but this has been so poor. Time for Conway.
  17. On sky red button as well ,froze just before the goal!!! just seen that one though.
  18. No ,they are well paid professional athletes and will be fine by Tuesday.
  19. Cornick reminds me a lot of David Clarkson ,not fast ,not very good in the air and not particularly skilful. But every so often he does something good. David Clarkson was a disappointment overall unfortunately .I think I’ve seen enough now to suggest Cornick is likely to follow a similar trajectory . Be nice to be proved wrong, but not expecting it. The more worrying thing ,is with limited funds we really need our recruitment to be spot on,the scatter gun days are behind us.
  20. I have no idea how we’re going to do today. We seem a bit of a toothless mess at the moment and the Swansea win odds of 11/10 look like an easy way to more than double your money………..however away from home we can chuck in a Millwall like performance and look decent. Overall a lack of a cutting edge makes a draw probably our best outcome, although those Swansea odds look very tempting to ease the pain of another defeat should it happen!
  21. This is highly unlikely to be a straight forward infection . Post viral fatigue/long Covid/mental health issue. I guess if they don’t feel it appropriate to tell us and it may well not be ,then speculation will continue . As for the medicals at this level ,they rarely have enough time to cover everything thouroughly. In the premier league they often have a full day with scans as normal part of procedure .
