  1. Beg to differ. I had an umbilical hernia from working in landscape gardening in Porto and it took me some time after the op to be able to even discern the entry marks. Mind you my ex comes from a very well to do family and the surgeon was a distant cousin who slotted me in free of charge between patients in one of the best private hospitals in the country so UK NHS patients may not achieve a similar outcome I suppose
  2. Copyright @me on this forum* (With the pathetic caveat that Scottish fans had used it about 5 years earlier, but I didn't know that so my claim stands) Not that one ?
  3. I have checked the official archives, and we hold the records for consecutive relegations within a single season, most goals conceded without a single reply, and lowest points total for promotion and relegation in all four professional divisions. Yay.
  4. Thanks but tried that one, the chat box obscures the player and can't be removed
  5. Yeah, not on a Portuguese wage, same reason I'm not an OTIB supporter
  6. Pretty sure @Bcfcshags said they had both been told they should find alternative employment
  7. It certainly is. Porto is practically my favourite place on Earth. Lived there for 2 years. I sometimes even catch a cheap bus up on my days off just to stroll across the bridge and drink a super in the sun
  8. Let it stay, what's an OTIB thread without a Dave Fevs spreadsheet? In fact if you could plot one for my wildly varying mental health that would be educational.
  9. This Hot Air is quite possibly amongst the 5 most dull and boring posters in the great history of this forum. Mate. Everything about your club is f*cking sh*t. Not least, you.
  10. It's taken me a while to gather myself and to be able to come back and read this thread again. And I'm, not exactly overwhelmed, but more, so appreciative of all the comments and kindness and honesty that's been shown by all of you. What a wonderful community, and resource. To every single one who took the time to react, reply, reach out or even just read sympathetically, I LOVE YOU. And, I'm doing a lot better right now, thanks in no small part to you. Many took the time to message me personally and I will reply to all. There are a couple of posts here which I feel the need to reply to individually too, so I'll get round to those shortly, although my initial thought to reply to each comment very quickly became unviable! My problems are twofold, firstly in that I live a very isolated existence and can't really do anything to change that fact, and secondly in that my drinking which was originally a useful tool to combat feelings of loneliness has got out of control and nowadays provokes the issue more than deflects it. However, I live in a big house by myself in rural Portugal with mountain views and am just over an hour from Porto, so I would very much like to extend a warm offer to anyone who fancies free accommodation to pop over for a cheap getaway from it all, anytime. Genuine offer, and would actually help me somewhat! PS I absolutely love how even this thread has now degenerated into xG and spreadsheets ??
  11. You people should be proud of yourselves, you really got me through this evening of some kind of dark tea time of the soul, and each time I come back to catch up on the comments, I start blubbering again. Thank you each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart and soul, you made a difference to someone today.
  12. What is this doing in the transfer forum, please transfer me and my post to the psych ward, thanks again for all of you amazing people for giving me a laugh on top of my partial breakdown of this evening There's no heart emoji so consider this it
  13. There are a lot of really good people on here and a lot of replies that deserve my proper response, I will get round to when I can. Just went to say really and emotionally, thank you for being here for me, I know you would have done so for someone else who really needed it
  14. Sorry I ran out of likes, thank you each one of you who took the time to reply, I feel suitably embarrassed now because there are most people in life with better reasons to be messed up than mine, just all came to a head this evening but I'm ok really. You guys are heroes really. I'm going back in my shell now .
  15. You've been warned about going in the women's WC Breadcrumbs?
  16. I bet Mrs Oxo was fascinated. I can imagine her response: "That's nice, dear."
  17. Hello, good evening and welcome to nothing much A no holds barred half nelson and the loving touch
  18. Funny, I was thinking how our corners were unusually good today. Having said that, I'll forgive you anything due to your choice of cider. Nothing else comes close.
  19. Enjoyed watching that and thought we deserved the win, having been the better side especially second half of the first and after the subs came on. Hard to find fault with anyone although Tanner looks to have gone a little backwards since last season, and Sykes (who I'm a big fan of) didn't have his best game. Positives all over the pitch, Vyner outstanding again, suddenly his passing has become sumptuous, and Dickie next to him looking a colossus. Midfield composed and classy despite not having much space to manoeuvre in, attackers all looking a threat, Wells's running holding it all together. When the subs came on they all managed to look impressive, and Cornick had surely his best appearance for us to date. Other than the goal, the two best moments for me though were a first half City corner where Millwall cleared the ball up into the sky and both sets of players assumed it had gone out of play, only for it to drop (what seemed like) several minutes later to comical scenes of surprise, and Bell falling over running on to celebrate. I think I'll have a glass of wine.
  20. He didn't. Try writing what he wrote and see what happens!
