Yep, hernia op leaves a big scar and therefore the underlying wound could’ve got infected if it didn’t quite heal.  Sod antibiotics, get some Irn Bru on it lad!

Beg to differ. I had an umbilical hernia from working in landscape gardening in Porto and it took me some time after the op to be able to even discern the entry marks. Mind you my ex comes from a very well to do family and the surgeon was a distant cousin who slotted me in free of charge between patients in one of the best private hospitals in the country so UK NHS patients may not achieve a similar outcome I suppose

OP missed the opportunity to title the thread ‘What’s the story Ross McCrorie?’!

    Copyright @me on this forum*

(With the pathetic caveat that Scottish fans had used it about 5 years earlier, but I didn't know that so my claim stands)

Does make you wonder what the situation is with both Owura Edwards & Sam Pearson.

Neither has a squad number or like Kadji & Palmer-Houlden has gone out on loan, yet neither of them has featured in any U21 games.

Both have had numerous loan spells, in Owura’s case in the Scottish Prem & League Two, in Sam’s case Scottish League One, League Two & National League yet they are kicking their heels at present.

Guess we are looking to move them both on but nothing has materialised yet.

Pretty sure @Bcfcshags said they had both been told they should find alternative employment

  4. It's taken me a while to gather myself and to be able to come back and read this thread again. And I'm, not exactly overwhelmed, but more, so appreciative of all the comments and kindness and honesty that's been shown by all of you. What a wonderful community, and resource. To every single one who took the time to react, reply, reach out or even just read sympathetically, I LOVE YOU. And, I'm doing a lot better right now, thanks in no small part to you.

Many took the time to message me personally and I will reply to all. There are a couple of posts here which I feel the need to reply to individually too, so I'll get round to those shortly, although my initial thought to reply to each comment very quickly became unviable!

My problems are twofold, firstly in that I live a very isolated existence and can't really do anything to change that fact, and secondly in that my drinking which was originally a useful tool to combat feelings of loneliness has got out of control and nowadays provokes the issue more than deflects it. However, I live in a big house by myself in rural Portugal with mountain views and am just over an hour from Porto, so I would very much like to extend a warm offer to anyone who fancies free accommodation to pop over for a cheap getaway from it all, anytime. Genuine offer, and would actually help me somewhat!

PS I absolutely love how even this thread has now degenerated into xG and spreadsheets ??

In the games I've watched, it does seem that in the Women's WC the referees are looking at pitch side monitors to review a decision a lot more than we tend to see in domestic games.

You've been warned about going in the women's WC

One small negative, predictable, poorly executed near post corners

Apart from that absolutely buzzing- Weston Vintages in the chiller

Funny, I was thinking how our corners were unusually good today.

Having said that, I'll forgive you anything due to your choice of cider. Nothing else comes close.

  8. Enjoyed watching that and thought we deserved the win, having been the better side especially second half of the first and after the subs came on. Hard to find fault with anyone although Tanner looks to have gone a little backwards since last season, and Sykes (who I'm a big fan of) didn't have his best game. Positives all over the pitch, Vyner outstanding again, suddenly his passing has become sumptuous, and Dickie next to him looking a colossus. Midfield composed and classy despite not having much space to manoeuvre in, attackers all looking a threat, Wells's running holding it all together. When the subs came on they all managed to look impressive, and Cornick had surely his best appearance for us to date. Other than the goal, the two best moments for me though were a first half City corner where Millwall cleared the ball up into the sky and both sets of players assumed it had gone out of play, only for it to drop (what seemed like) several minutes later to comical scenes of  surprise, and Bell falling over running on to celebrate. I think I'll have a glass of wine.

You must have enjoyed the results tonight.     Rovers did try at times and had one or two chances themselves when it was still  1 - 0  but over the 90 minutes there can be no doubt the team that wanted it more got the victory.

All played out on a new pitch resurfaced during the summer and it wasn't too bad a crowd for a midweek first round League cup tie although only a few number of Gas fans made the long trip over.     All right it's a fair distance between places but thought they could have numbered a few more for the visit.

We played well at times, showed flair and creativity and now unbeaten in 'proper' competition for something near 20 games.    Didn't need a full strength team to get past these opponents but a number of familiar faces were present and correct all the same.       We won't win it,  never have and probably never will but the difference in hope and progress since Marcus Evans fuc, sorry, took off, is simply remarkable.       We haven't had such belief in our abilities for a long long time but after the promotion there is still so much to do.    Nothing further has been achieved as yet.

    That's all of them.
