This should be a cracking rematch

    20230802_201843.jpg

Just came here to comment on this. Personally although I'm delighted it's been made, because that's just how the sport should work, I can't see it being anything other than an even more one-sided contest, much as I love KT for her contribution to the women's game.

Haven't been here much but what a fight the Crawford Spence was, who predicted such a humiliating dismantling of one fighter's legacy. Looking forward to the rematch of course but can anyone see a different outcome?

Meanwhile as something of a dabbler, what's up next of note? Who is Tim Tszyu fighting next? When is Inoue finally going to be recognised as the pound for pound? Etc

This a forum Dave - place to express an opinion. Any poster who finds my contributions ‘nauseous’ can easily put me on ignore.

You know how to do it.

You don't have any opinions. Posting on a thread to say how much you ignore the subject matter of the thread is not an opinion. No one gives a ****. Bore off, as they say.

We arrived last Saturday at the tail end of the heatwave. I like the sun (my skin doesn’t it looks like I’ve a city home shirt on) but the first few days was uncomfortably hot.
I suspect you had that in Portugal as well.

Every other year I could say yes but this year Summer just refuses to properly get going somehow

Can everyone spare a thought for me, I’m currently sat by the pool in Zante and waiting on you lot to update me with goals.

By the way it’s only 29 degrees today.

    Jealous.

A mere 28 here in Portugal.

  5. I haven't read the ticketing thread but presumably that's f*cked going by the number of pages; the kit is f*cked, the website was f*cked on launch, Robins TV has always been f*cked and still is, and the open day was f*cked. Surely statistically it would be easier to get some of those right than all wrong

We do score a lot of goals from crosses though.  14/30 of our preseason goals have come from crosses.  It just depends where we hit them in from, the runs if our forwards, defenders marking etc.  if they’re hopeful once’s from the touchline, I agree it’s a poor option.  But the numbers we’ve scored from cutbacks and crosses from signing the boundary of the 18 yard box is pretty impressive.

Interesting stats, haven't we (at least more recently) historically been poor at converting from crosses despite being a crossing side ?

Typical reaction from people , was it a farce or was it I’ll discipline by some of the fans so there little Jonny could have a selfie with a player , bit like last season with the can I have your shirt placards and chasing players after the game again can I have your shirt . Sincerely hope we don’t see that crap again this season - pathetic

Probably a large helping of both, and one thing is certain, we're only going to see more of those behaviours from now on. If you read the comments on the City Facebook posts regarding today's event, you can see both that it was incredibly badly organised, and also that more and more of the moronic great British public are going full Karen as a career choice and unbelievably entitled communication style. It's a perfect storm.

He obviously hasn`t twigged that the afternoons in Portugal are about 120 degrees at the moment.

Maybe down South but not up here it's not. In fact it's been the weakest Summer I can recall. Not a single period of protracted 35°+ temperatures, endless blue skies and hot, sweaty, mosquito-ridden nights like we usually get. More like high 20s with some cloud cover and winds. I haven't even put the swimming pool up yet! Bloody global warming ?

I just don’t get what the club are up to here. Literally everything they are sharing on social media at the moment has the players wearing blue - whatever the setting.

    Training in blue t shirts.

Riding bikes in blue sleeveless tops.

Wandering around casually in blue polo shirts.

Black training tops with blue trim and the horrific splat Robin.

What the hell are the club thinking?! This is more than a one-off blue item now. It’s a complete rebrand across an entire range. And it’s NOT US. It doesn’t represent us. It doesn’t even say Bristol City on it.

Why do any of us buy City branded gear? It’s because we want to associate ourselves with our club, because we’re proud of it, and we want others to know we support them.

Who the hell is going to buy this stuff when it doesn’t in any way represent our club and leaves our own fans arguing about whether it looks like Man City or not? Well one thing’s certain, it sure as hell doesn’t look like Bristol City in any way. And it’s also a complete dilution of the club brand re-established only a couple of years ago with the new crest.

    Just so bizarre.

You're going to look pretty daft when we announce that we have bought out and dissolved R*vers, and that these commemorative shirts are available for this season only.

They`ve certainly been a thing for the thirty odd years I`ve lived down here - they play in Simmons Park.

Edit. Founded in 1929 according to Wiki

Wow. Simmonds Park. Scene of so many of my, er, formative experiences, if you know what I mean.
