He’s just uploaded a nice video about his time with the club and a goodbye message.
Some effort gone into that, I really liked it.

I can't help feel a 25 Million fee is overboard for a Viz Mr Logic lookalike (minus the glasses), or maybe it will add another 10 Million if the purchaser is a Viz fan
I really wish you hadn't said that.

They`ve certainly been a thing for the thirty odd years I`ve lived down here - they play in Simmons Park.
Edit. Founded in 1929 according to Wiki
Wow. Simmonds Park. Scene of so many of my, er, formative experiences, if you know what I mean.

Okehampton Argyle? Despite living there and going to school there I have never heard of them
Liskeard was always a bloody odd place too, where literally everyone drank chicory coffee, no idea why but it's totally true

I'm not particularly interested in it either, but there are plenty of topics that don't interest me much and this fact doesn't bother me in the slightest, I have no problem with @shahanshahan - or anyone else - posting about something he is passionate about.

Damn, only 5 years ago too. Huh.
I was still the first on this forum, no one can take that away from me

So he is a Bristol City supporter then ?
No idea and it's not really relevant, just get the impression he might be totally honest about his motivations in the company of someone similarly perspicacious ie Nige

Joe confidence is obviously low if your right mate
Not what I was getting at at all. I wondered if he felt that the all-star wage he can undoubtedly command wouldn't be better spent on the next big thing, sort of thing.

But where has anyone said that?
Worth a listen:
Just listened to this. Reading between the lines, although in fact it seems pretty clear to me, Joe expressed concerns that he would be a high earner at the twilight of his career and perhaps therefore not the best value for money signing for his hometown club, and he would rather take a last payday from someone else who he didn't feel the same emotional connection to. Just me who reads it like that?

I quite like him. He’s pretty transparent, and I like that.
My daughter, who was born in Bristol to an English father and a Portuguese mother and has grown up in Portugal since she was 6, pronounced this until very recently as "trans parent", which always raised the odd chuckle.

Permission rescinded. Sorry Joe.

Last couple of pages of this thread really slams it home how there is literally no other professional football club remotely like these inbred fucktards.

JFC, I actually feel like poor old Stevie Neville by decrying the inane pre-decimal drivel into which this thread has descended

At least it might get the thread back on course after a dozen posts discussing Maguires selection for England!
That's not set in stone.

How can we build a side if we keep selling our best players?
Took me a while but I knew there was a concrete pun in there somewhere.

So, as far as I can make out, they've done an "artists impression" of their new permanent structure but no detailed drawings. They haven’t submitted it to the council for planning approval. Presumably, therefore they also haven’t consulted the residents immediately behind this proposed structure for comment & how it could impact them.
They plan to open it in August 23 ready for the new season and are actively selling season tickets to their lemmings for it.
I hope there's a sag out there who can read this, they'll then understand why we laugh at them so much.
Unbelievably tinpot.
Big ask

Cracking post over on Gaschat....
>>Now the transfer rules have changed, I genuinely wonder if we will start to sign players from abroad? Some cracking players to be found in the lower leagues of Italy, France, Spain, Germany and elsewhere. Eddie Jennings may be able to utilise contacts from his time working for the Wasserman Group agency and Joey might have gained some contacts from his playing days in France.
A maximum of two players will be available to League One and League Two teams if a potential signing does not meet the points-based criteria to automatically qualify for the Governing Body Endorsement needed to play here.<<The posted appears to be oblivious that before we left the EU, they could have signed 'players from abroad/Europe' at any point, and they wouldn't have been limited to 2.
Quite apart from the points you make, what on earth do those deluded weirdos base their undying optimism on? It really is hard to fathom.

Ricky Hatton battered his dad in 2005!
Ferocious finish from Tim, I'm interested to see how he gets on in the unification v Charlo.
Recognised the surname of course, didn't know he has a son in the game.
Will be hoping that fight happens now.

Hadn't even heard of Tim before but I'll be following his career after this

I think our entire treatment of him as a player was negligible to say the least. Probably got a fair few long term issues because of it tbh.
I think you mean negligent, although, possibly, both are true!

I knew something wasn't making sense reading the last couple of pages until I realised that some people have confused the incident with an 80 year old man not renewing which happened now, with the old Henbury Gas story about the imaginary person who was (attacked?) at Ashton Gate and miraculously became a Rovers fan instead.
