  1. I think this is the first time I have ever posted in this section.

There is a project currently underway, that divides the world up into hexagons, called Smart Places. It will have an app very similar to Facebook, except your data is yours.  You will get tokenized for traffic that you post and the owner of the plot will get also get tokens.

To cut a very long story short, I have purchased Ashton Gate and the great unwashed "stadium" up the road.

Feel free to take a look no pressure of course.  If you would like me to add or amend my comments for Ashton Gate I would be happy to.  I have tried to be professional about that lot up the road, not easy hahaha, but you can post anything you like... santas grotto ?

I am not sure if this will be a thing of the future or not, but it seems a very good idea. This is not a sales pitch, so please do not interpret this as one.  Its merely highlighting something new.  I am a life long fan, even have my name on John Ayteo's statue.  But wouldn't it be nice, when/if this does get some traction that their home has already been defaced hahahaha

No chance we would have been challenging top 6

Exactly. We would be a comfortable mid table side. Now I fear we could be an uncomfortable mid table side with our eyes looking over our shoulder.

Hope I am wrong. But said it before this has set us back 12 - 18 months

  3. Well that was not a good start

If you are going to high press you have to high press as a unit.

If you are going to play a possession based game players have to be able to pass the ball 10 yards.

We did neither and looked at times completely clueless. Whilst we may not have played a "Manning" style game under Nige perfectly understandable, it was was too much of an ask for these players to change in 3 coaching sessions.

Personally I would sacked Nige today (well I would not have sacked him in the first place) and used the international break for multiple sessions with the players to get new messages across.

Timings all wrong on his sacking

This is why JL's statement is a joke. Who is better than NP to get promotion to the Premier League?

I doubt whoever they replace with won't have a CV like Pearson's.

I wasn't really looking at promotion as a realistic target. This squad is limited I think we can all agree. Midtable obscurity is what the budget they set would achieve. To think that this team would achieve more is madness.

It feels like they are just crossing their fingers for a run of unbelievable luck to sneak into the playoffs rather than having a finacial plan to back Nige adequately.

    Madness to suggest anything else.

  5. If promotion was really the ambition of the club, then why setup a budget for basic survival?

Its not as if there is any confidence that this board is capable of finding a replacement. I for one am not getting my hopes up. Track record of "exhaustive searches" is pretty shite with the exception of Nige.

I for one will really miss him.

Unless they like watching us be completely uncompetitive and embarrassed as other teams beat us with ease.

    It's getting better though ?.

Know one really wants to watch that. But as expats it's still in there. The need for that 90 minutes.

  7. Good morning all

2 questions if I may. Do we have a list of podcasts available (City related of course)

Secondly. Does anyone have a way of "capturing" full games and use a repository to upload them too?

In a digital age I am sure this possible. As an expat I miss lots of games due to obscene kick off times and work commitments. I would love to be able to download full games to watch back.

Notwithstanding (I try and use this word at least once a day ), the usual caveats of licensing etc please DM me if you have any info.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. I want to love Jay DS. But he is probably one of the most frustrating players in the squad.

He has quick feet..  I mean quick. It will get him out of trouble most of the time. But it's the very reason he needs them to be.

Picks the wrong pass in danger areas. Doesn't track back hard enough out of possession. Doesn't put body on the line to cut out crosses. You can see teams target that area of the pitch.

Is it awareness? I am not sure. He will get you out of your seat and at times is unplayable at this level. Then within 30 secs will undo all that hard work.

I don't think he applies himself enough to the task he has. Undoubtedly a talent.

Personally I don't see him as a full back, he is not a midfielder either. He is a puzzle to be worked out... Perhaps for another manager.

    Pure speculation of course.

Obviously the talented Mr Ashton was looking for someone to assist his project Holden.
He approached the FA about Simpson & Downing. With the intention of appointing ONE of them.

Ahh yes. "The recipe for disaster" called for one egg, but he added two. The shit cake was a massive disappointment. Like going to a KFC ordering some kind of bucket chicken for all of your mates .... And telling them it's Duck a'lorange.

We were never that foolish Mark.

These 2, along with Holden, should never have replaced LJ.

Agreed. This is the exact issue with MA in a nutshell.

He honestly thought that Downing and Simpson would be the answer.  Fans would be very impressed by these 2 coming in from high profile England youth teams.

Unfortunately they were the icing sugar on a pretty shit cake.

As much as I wanted them to succeed (naturally) it was setup for failure from day 1.

.... It took 2 months for him to make that shit pie. Glad he is gone.

  11. I really wanted to love Adam.  He is a good player.  He has quietly gone about 54 club appearances.  I think quietly is the key word.  The more he fell out of love with this club, the feelings started get reciprocated.

Intelligent player (you only had to see the job he did for Hungry, marking space in front of their defence), he will find a continental club and flourish with ease.

Best all round for a move.

PS Looking forward to seeing V England next month, where ever he lands.

Managers used to say they wanted to keep us quiet back when we were in the conference in league 2 and were always a bigger club for those leagues.

We are about average I would say in terms of noise and support. We have a well above average away support.

    ‘WELL ABOVE average away support’,

Peter, Peter, Peter.... You just don't get it do you. How many times do you, indeed all of you need to be told.

Its not the exact numbers they take away.  It's the percentage of morons that attend away matches in relation to the dwindling attendance at home games.

    Do try and keep up.
