  1. I never really understood that. He was brought in as a squad player. He has been a good squad player when called upon. Today he has put forward a case to the management for more minutes. Exactly what a squad player should do.
  2. Moron FC would do well in the SPL... But it's a league that is about irrelevant as they are. Basically who cares how good Rangers and Celtic are.
  3. No such thing as an irrelevant 3 points in this league.
  4. Hopefully earned the managers trust. Depending on his recovery I fully expect him to be a starter New year's Day.
  5. Bentley Taylor Kalas Baker Rowe Pereira Dasilva Brownhill Nagy/Massengo Weiman Diedhiou
  6. LJ is going through his yearly Xmas "trust issues" with players. On his list and not limited to the following: Palmer, Baker, Massengo, Pereira, Szmodics, Semenyo, CoD, Watkins, Eliasson (to play 90 mins)
  7. What about bringing Tommy Rowe as holding midfielder, now Jay DS is back? I think he would be excellent here, provide that midfield bite and provide protection for Nagy/Massengo to play with more freedom.
  8. Another example of Moron FC delusion. Thing is I would put us on par in the last 5 years with the likes of Preston, Brentford, QPR, Forest, Derby. Inexplicably so do they.
  9. This is in a nutshell why I think SL will stick with LJ. I said in an earlier post that part of the SL mantra is making this club profitable. SL will critique LJ in this area and say it's been a roaring success. Talent + Training = profit. LJ needs to be given huge kudos in this area. That's why there are 2 streams. The business of Bristol City is 2 fold. Player profit and League position. With MA at the helm for transfers regardless if what LJ says, the club is doing exceptionally well. SL is not going to risk this structure by bringing in and experienced manager like Sam A or Chris H, as more than likely they would want to tear up/remove/change operations. This system is working, whether we like it or not and we are a long way from the tipping point whereby SL will pull the trigger on LJ Stevo
  10. Have Cardiff got 15m??
  11. Tough one for sure. LJ has given us progression, stability and some really good times. However when it's bad.... It's really very bad. I think it's a lack of maturity on his part and a lack of managerial experience of how to turn it round. Does he shout and scream at them? Put his arm around them? The ethos of identifying young hungry players, training them, using them in order to make a significant investment on profit is clearly working. That's how I think SL will judge him. We will judge him on results and performance. I will stay in the fence. I think it should be noted that I think primarily Mark Ashton identifies these players. He would be a bigger loss. As someone else has suggested, perhaps Mark Ashton should now be identifing managerial options. Stevo
  12. And you Stick. I shall be in Dublin for round 16. Hoping it's England.
  13. Classic Moron FC post on asschat. I would put r****s on par with a club like Mansfield more than I would any club in the championship. Beyond deluded
  14. Mine just cut out "Currently not broadcasting"
  15. Not even. Many of these games are not broadcast on any channel in Canada. Unfortunately it's audio only. Stevo
  16. Don't mention bloody Nice. I retired from international football that night... But making a come back after 4 year hiatus. If England win group Dublin will be great. Defo meet up for a few jars Hope you are well fella
  17. We had a buying group from all over. 5 or 6 of us in Canada, lads from Australia and home. Most of us were unsuccessful. But we had lads hit 5 games on one app. Most got games but submitted multiple apps. Luck of the draw. We have tix all over the shop. Missus gave me a week away... So last game and rd16 in Budapest then over to Dublin for rnd 16. Short and Sweet but 3 games in week I will take everyday of every week. Stevo
  18. I did. I can't unsee it. This is good advice!!
  19. I am a super Fan ha ha. All whilst living on the other side of the world. I bought a brick and my name is on John's statue. Two tattoos. Bumper sticker on my truck. Missing mates every single game. I have been exiled 16 years now. Until 2 seasons ago it was tuning into every game on Radio. Getting up at 4 am some times. The service was dire, cut outs, long periods of the game missing... Sometimes you even got Moron FC's commentary. Now a days I pay $180 for BCtv... Which is great but midweek games are rarely on now because of the red button. So for those games it's back to the radio. Knowing the rest of you lot are watching in glorious HD. All down to Canadian Football rights...but that's another story. Once the game is over looking forward to the video highlights. Listening to all the pre/post interviews. Bring a member of Facebook's City Till I die. Bristol City Supporters Page and Bristol City Through The Years (Which is excellent!!). Reading OTIB almost daily. Organising family holidays where City play 3 times in a week or else it's not worth coming. Coming over twice for family events and city not playing and being thoroughly pissed off. Fan or supporter?? Both I guess. City is a massive part of my life and I am totally CAF. Stevo
  20. Why is this little sticker talking about change for Americans??
  21. It's important to note this is actually a club policy. Good scouting, combined with a structure of player progression and development is embedded into the club's business model. It's working. Yes it's hard to let our talent pool move on, but this is how you force yourself everyday to work hard. Scouting - identify talent Coaching - improve player Player - game time shop (window) Mark Ashton - negotiate best deal So the cycle continues. Expect CoD Webster Brownhill to move on for vastly more than we paid for them. You can't do that with journeyman players looking for final pay day. The club have got it right. Good topic OP Stevo
  22. In fairness to LJ since that losing run, he has grabbed this club by the scruff of its neck and dragged it forward, with season on season improvement. He has been backed in the past, but I think he has earned the right and trust of SL to back him even further. This is what LJ is after. The three or four blue chip players that need to come in. Think Barry Bannan type players. However, Bristol City recruitment is a double edged sword. Wages and desirability. Desirability. The last two seasons have given us fantastic moments. We are now a credible threat in this league and can now be considered a destination for players. We have come of age, mirrored by LJ's progress. Surely players want to be part of this journey of ours. Wages. Well this will truly be the measure of intent and define the pool of talent these 7 new players will come from. Stevo
  23. I thought he had a good game. Simply he followed the game plan. He was busy and a constant threat throughout. His free kick was excellent as was his interplay for the 2nd. He is carrying an injury and at this level it must be tough. If you aren't at the races you get found out quickly in this division. No room for passengers. He must be as frustrated with some of his performances as we are. He is a good player and very valuable for our team. LJ likes and trusts him. Well earned break in the summer get his issues fixed and a good preseason, get him back to 100%. Stevo
