I received 2 penalty charges and am expecting 2 more as I had no idea it had changed. Has anyone managed to contest a fine yet?  I think it’s criminal that this is allowed to happen.

The other Sunday heading to the galleries car park from old market roundabout  castle street was closed. So detoured accross bristol bridge which in the past when roads are shut they open the bridge to all traffic.

Received a ticket a week or two later which I have appealed and am waiting a response which due to back log etc could be quite awhile.

Went for Sunday lunch 3 weeks ago, was ok nothing spectacular. £26.00 for the beef and cauliflower cheese was a extra £6.00.

Yesterday tried the Ox for Sunday lunch, been a few times for evening meals but this was the first time for lunch. Would highly recommend £22.00 for the beef which included cauli cheese, leeks and greens and red cabbage, luckily we didn't order any extra sides as was plenty.

Maybe not as good as Pasture etc but no need to book months in advance, didn't book till Thursday and their was plenty of tables available.

  3. The hard truth podcast new episode out today with Darragh McAnthony giving his view on the transfer window and what went on the last day ?.

In a nutshell made a stupid offer on Wednesday and then on Thursday eventually agreed a fee on Friday in plenty of time. Peterborough filled in the transfer forms to help out(normally the buying club) kept reminding them about the extension etc and nothing forthcoming.

Expects to sell JCH in January for at least the same fee but their will be several clubs after him then.

Worth a listen, he was to professional to call then tinpot but reading between the lines think he was not a happy bunny.

Great bit of marketing, going to attract a lot of new fans from the USA considering how big Ted Lasso is over their.

On a footnote a bit corny at times but overall loved the programme, pity its all over but thought the last episode tied up all the loose ends etc very well.

    We,re Richmond till I die......

  5. Not a book I would read, but found this on Amazon about Harry the dog, made me.laugh reading the description?.

    Description

Harry the Dog is a legend amongst British football hooligans. As leader of Millwall’s notorious F-Troop during the 1970s, he was at the forefront of many of the fist fights, pitch battles and gang warfare that broke out between rival firms in that era, including at Eastville Stadium in Bristol where he single-handedly tore into Bristol Rovers firm, the Gas Hit Squad and began headbutting, kicking, punching and gouging the eyes out of every member of that pathetic little outfit who got in his way. Famous for his Awooooooooo howl, which could be heard every time he went into battle, Harry is perhaps best known for his 1977 appearance on the British documentary Panorama, where a startled nation witnessed Harry’s hooligan activities at first hand, and because of his notorious brawl with neo-Nazi hardman Mickey Crane, which many regard as the most violent and bloody fist fight of the century.

Many fans were against the signing, and tbf many Rovers fans were against Barton becoming manager. The main difference being that many players have been charged with many things over the years, and in my opinion it is certainly different than employing a convicted criminal to be your manager, who is basically the public face of your club. He had already been done multiple times for violence, banged up, fighting on a stag do on a beach wasn't it, stubbing a cigar in a younger players eye, and he also had the Barnsley manager case already hanging over him (pretty obvious what happened there to all), multiple red cards and bans for violence, just to name a few.

Yet after all of that your owner with (who must have had some sort of amnesia when he appointed him), then comes out with the beauty "we stand firmly against any form of violence" and anyone convicted of such offences "would be dismissed immediately".

Dont forget banned for 18 months for placing bets on football matches

I would point out btw, Rovers didn't just get promoted because of the win yesterday. They have been absolutely outstanding this year, quite possibly the best footballing Rovers team I have seen in my 49 seasons of watching. We are light years behind City in terms of infrastructure and probably a good distance behind you on the pitch-,although I seriously would give the team yesterday a good chance of beating anyone in a one off.

There was no conspiracy or untowardness yesterday, just a very good team getting a fully deserved promotion. Sometimes you just have to say 'fair play', although I get that many would just want to think it rather than say it out loud!

How do you see next season going, what with a lot of your team OOC and the loan players going back to their respective clubs etc.
