How can they(the EFL) organise a fixture list that involves both Bristol club being at home on the same saturday

and this weekend both of us are away from Bristol

Back in the day,it was always an alternating system of none of the Bristol clubs would play at home on the same day for league games.

This will never happen with the Manchester or Sheffield clubs

Just wondering who the bonehead is....

A few weeks ago I did think Tanner had lost a bit of confidence but today I thought he looked more confident and sharper on the ball than he has for a while so long may that continue.

Except for his perpetual backwards passing. As soon as he gets the ball he turns and knocks it back. Orders perhaps or lack of confidence. I'd like to see a breakdown of his passing direction yesterday.

Talking about views from a non City viewpoint , I saw this , and to be brutally honest expected a ranting Oxford fan , with a full on tirade aimed at Manning

Well worth a watch , the young man is incredibly articulate and intelligent

He’ gutted , he questions Manning loyalty / morality in an intelligent explanation , but explains what Manning did at Oxford and the job he did there and is extremely complimentary about his work

A highly impressive lad and another , very interesting , thought provoking,  listen

Very articulate, but too much repeating the same things. What he had to say could have been done in half the time.

Also, how do they paint that on the pitch? Is there a special stencil that gets sent to our ground staff along with the correct branding colour paints? or does the RFU send a specialist team along to paint it?

It appeared to be almost gone on TV yesterday.

My understanding of this based on a conversation with someone ITK (Admitabley about 10 years ago) is that 1. Managers often want a wetter surface so the ball moves faster for passing etc. and 2. (main reason) Drying out has to be slow. If someone slides heavily, and the surface is dry but the roots wet the turf tears the roots and damages them - it's then much harder to repair and get the repair to knit back to the rest of the surface. If everything is moist then the turf comes up as one piece and roots tend to be pulled up but intact and can be placed back in and/or repaired. Not sure I explained that well 😂

To my mind, and I'm obviously wrong, that's the wrong way round. I would have thought that there would be water resistance on a soaking wet surface as opposed to being dry.

I think he is trying to resolve the issue by getting as close to the mic as possible which does nothing for clarity.

My thinking is they cant get the volume up in the Lansdown because he stands in the tunnel area and it feeds back when they try to raise it, meaning that to get it louder he has to raise his voice which isnt working and is distorting. It could also be that they are stretching the limits of the wireless mic which can also result in bad sound.

They need a high pass filter at 90-100k as we dont need to hear the low end of his voice, they also need a compresser to catch his vocal when it exceeds a set volume so that clarity and quality is preserved. (They may have an EQ on the mic but whoever has done it needs re training)

Do we gain much from having him on a wireless mic, walking around? A static mic in a controlled area like a box would be much easier to control in terms of clarity and he could be given any information about subs etc, its not like hes walking round the stadium like they used to.

I dont have much faith in them to resolve the issue, theyve struggled to get the PA in the Lansdown hospitality right since it opened, and thats just a simple powered speaker set up (Because the speakers in the ceiling presumably feed back when they try to use them for guest speakers). Theyve resorted to having the guest walking between the tables being followed by a dinner trolly with a speaker on it so that section can hear, its embarrassing to watch every week and this is in an areas where the club should be trying to excel and upsell.

They must have engaged a company to organise and resolve the issues regarding sound in all areas of the stadium but I wonder who is resposible for the audio around the stadium and in the hospitality areas on a day to day basis? Do they actually have a trained technician or is this somebody from hospitality moonlighting?

Ive done sound and lighting for indoor and outdoor events for 15 years and if anyone from the club wants some free help im more than happy to offer it.

    Sorry for the essay :)

If they take you up on your offer, don't forget the Dolman Stand. As has been stated many times, the PA and Downsey are inaudible, and for some reason, the club are unwilling to put it right.
