  1. Can't be a rail strike at the moment, they are in talks till the 17th if it don't go well it's likely they will need to re ballot so the next 4 weekends should be safe,
  2. Middlesbrough should have scored 3 , Max is having a worldie in goal, we have no one at the back to defend, it's like school boy football when everyone wants to be a striker
  3. You made some good points until you got to the goalkeepers, Bentley is not the great keeper you make him out to be , he is nailed on to make at least one mistake a game that leads to a goal often more, He's just a shot stopper, Max is someone who actually controls his box and comes for crosses , you can see how much more happy the defence are with Max behind them as they know he will actually come and help not just say on his line, no for me Max is an upgrade on Bentley,
  4. That's exactly the issue there will not be the capacity on the line for more than one train a hour, The line is being reopened to the most simple spec possible, Pill will only have one platform reopened so trains will not be able to pass there means the train will need to able to get from temple meads to Portishead and back in a hour, Opening a station at Ashton gate would add 3 minutes in each direction which they don't want to do, The station at Ashton gate can't be reopened on it past site as you can't build a new station on a curve so it would need to be somewhere near the level crossing but it's unclear if there is the land here to do it , Also the line would need to be double from parson st to a new Ashton gate station adding a lot of cost also as having Ashton gate open would see the need for 2 units on the line increasing the cost, plus the line between temple meads and parson st would need to be put back to 4 track more extra cost, So at the moment there is zero chance of a station at Ashton gate,
  5. That was so much better, we dominant a very disciplined Preston side and gave nothing from open play, everyone of our players looked up for it tonight, they all worked hard and we looked good, fair play to the management for turning the players around after the weekend, On another note that set a new standard tonight for the worst display from a ref I have ever seen at the gate, how is he still a league ref
  6. Preston are always our bogey team in recent years, think it's going to be a hard match tonight, fingers are definitely crossed we can turn this around, got a feeling of they score first it done as they are so good a defence, hopefully city will prove me wrong and get a hat full

  8. We are really bad today, we seam to have forgotten how to do all the stuff that was working a month ago, Bentley looks like a yts kid who's not played professional football before, So many others making the wrong choices, I think the 5 subs have not helped as we now have no shape , All a bit of a mess today sadly
  9. Yes the officials where very poor but really we let ourselves down silly mistakes leading to the goal and non existent midfield in first half offering no protection to the defence in the middle, we had enough good chances as well to have scored at least 3 need to be clinical like QPR were in front of goal, I liked the start good tempo for the first 15 mins before the goal knocked the stuffing out of us and we finished well after the changes were made, so not all bad but some stuff to work on before Tuesday,
  10. Hungerford community center in BS4 7pm
  11. Good to see the England cricket fans being given there chance to show respect this morning, if only us football fans had been given the same chance
  12. Going to watch the wrestling in Bristol this evening
  13. But it will be much harder and more expensive, Making the stations on the line 5 coaches from the off and with the ability to pass trains at Pill so 30 minutes service could be attached when busy is what they should be aiming for, A good comparison would be borders rail in Scotland a line they reopened to Tweedbank they did it as cheep as possible and it's proved to be mush more popular than expected so now the basic way it was built is not up to the level needed, so they are going to have to spend a lot of money to run longer and more frequent trains, it's like these politicians don't learn,
  14. Agree the whole point of waiting was so that funding could be sorted out, now that's all sorted they should just green light it,
  15. Latest on the Portishead rail link, North Somerset council are saying they hope to have the line open by the end of 2026 after North Somerset council and west of England combined authority both agreed to put in 10 million extra each to cover extra costs after the DFT agreed to put an extra 15 million in and agreed to cover any extra costs as a result of inflation, This brings the current cost of reopening the line to 159 million, The DFT have now said they are considering the business case for the line and hope to announce the go ahead on 19/2/23 The latest cost savings have seen capacity reduced on the line, the new station at Portishead will now only be 3 coaches long not the 5 previous planed, a 140 seats less per train in the peak And also there will be no building on the station not even a bus shelter to give cover when waiting for a train, The plan for Pill to be the only intermittent station in the line is unchanged So some good and some bad news
  16. Watching Bridgwater win easily 4-0 today against Bitton, Bridgwater looked class easy to see why they are top of the table , they hit the bar and post it could have easily been another 6 or 7 goal game for them, it's so refreshing watching a side playing such attacking football, in Jack Taylor they have a quality striker who I think could easily play at a much higher level, Looking forward to watching the derby match against Street this Friday,
  17. Going to watch Bridgwater United on Saturday , they have won there first 5 league games for the season sitting top of the league, scoring lots of goals 7 in one match 8 in another, they been playing some lovely attacking football so looking forward to them playing and hopefully beating Bitton this weekend,
  18. Total class, he's what we have been missing at the back for ages, he's getting better with each game

No he didn't get us promoted to the championship so clearly you have proved you don't have a clue what u are talking about ?
  20. I thought we played well for most of the game yesterday, is some players had there scoring boots on we could have very easily put 3 past them, This is why I am not as worried as some seam to be as I think as long as the very good attacking build up play keeps progressing like it is the goals will come and we will be winning, The defence dose look better than last season but still a little weak at times, I think some at the back seam to switch off in games and get caught out most of the play at the back is good it's just individual avoidable errors that are letting us down at the moment hopefully something we can cut out soon, I do think we are progressing well and would be very surprised if we didn't finish the season safely in mid table,

NO he was talking us on a one way ride to league 1
  22. I think the point he was trying to get those around him into better position and marking better is a big positive, we have been lacking someone with a voice at the back for a few seasons he could be one of our missing peace's
  23. Disagree thought he improved as the game went along think once he's got a few games under his belt Naismith will be very good for us, sadly Zak has had a lot of changes and never took then , I just feel he's not improving
