  1. That's a shame for them. With eight first team players out of action for Stanley, the blue few might have had a chance of a draw.
  2. The Gap will be 21 in October next year I think? 21 years.
  3. It's more the incessant stroking themselves. PS whoever put "Walking" in the swear filter, please undo it or just swap it for a starred version.
  4. Good first half, funny what happens when you have some balance and players largely in their comfortable positions. Lets see if we can keep this up.
  5. The ozone layer has been getting better since CFCs were banned ~30 years ago hasn't it?
  6. Tonic water originally was used for malaria protection, had far, far more quinine in and tasted far worse. The quinine type drugs touted as helping limit coronavirus symptoms are (I read somewhere) the equivalent of about 200 modern gin and tonics per dose, so probably more harm than good done there! Unfortunately the initial evidence for these drugs was anecdotal and the first controlled test results don't look great.
  7. As long as it doesn't inconvenience you too much eh?
  8. You have no understanding of proportion. "Can't" to me means that there is no possible way to do something, for you it means being unwilling to eat beans on toast for a few weeks to save a life. Nobody's suggested the self employed should get shafted, just that selfish people should not put a couple of red letters ahead of actual human lives.
  9. I'm perfectly fine with not earning a penny for the next six months if it's necessary to save lives. It'll be difficult but a couple of years from now it won't have made any difference to me. It will have made a lot of difference to the people not ******* dead though.
  10. You are so one eyed you can't see. You're equating your inability to cope for a few weeks without cash with people dying and you're idiotic enough to talk about selfishness... Don't pay your bills for a couple of months, save some lives. Nothing will really change for you - suffering my hairy ass.
  11. Really? Who's going to die if you miss a couple of mortgage payments? You will get over it, those who die won't. That's unbelievable selfishness. Stay at home.
  12. I am looking at not paying bills or a mortgage, I booked a payment holiday and took a lump on a credit card to prepare. What the **** are you on about thinking of others? Take a look in the mirror pal, you are the people causing this crisis. You're choosing to put a bit of inconvenience above other people's safety, unbelievable selfishness.
  13. I really can't believe some people think going to work for three weeks is more important than not helping to spread a deadly virus to people who might die from it. If you really can't cope with that what were you planning on doing when the recession kicked in?
  14. The job retention scheme is only for businesses with employees, most people on sites are self employed I'd have thought?
  15. The virus survives on surfaces for several days and in aerosol form for more than three hours. I would suggest steering clear of others for a couple of weeks. You might have the virus and get no symptoms. It's not like anyone else will be out having the time of their lives!
  16. What else would you do other than self isolate? Why would you take the chance?
  17. In the UK you can have private healthcare and get access to things quickly if you have the money, just the same as the US. The difference is that if you don't have the money you aren't given a choice limited to death or bankruptcy, you can actually get treated for free without having to ruin your entire family's future. You get emergency care immediately with no bill.
  18. I think it's a bit premature to give bojo a pass yet. So far he's announced £300bn of loans to be made by banks with the government only underwriting them (so only on the hook for those not repaid), and about another £10bn of direct aid. The £30bn of cash injected by VAT is only costing about £1-2bn because it's only a deferral. There is a lot of smoke and mirrors here, it sounds like a lot but the annual UK budget is about a trillion and I'd estimate they're busting that by about 10-12% and they're spreading that out. Significant yes but not historic. What we should just the government on I think are two things: 1) How many lives are saved compared to other countries 2) How well the average family recovers from this compared to the millionaires. If we save more people and the recovery pain is felt evenly then I am happy to say well done.
  19. Enjoyed all of those. Narcos and Narcos Mexico in the same vein. Also I quite liked Queen of the South although it's a bit more of a soap opera.
  20. I think if your business is limited liability now is the time to borrow to the hilt and delay any payments to HMRC, worry about it if you get through this intact. It's about survival not profits at this point. Investors I deal with are basically advising hunker down hard now and string it out for as long as you can.
  21. Altered Carbon on Netflix and The Expanse on Amazon for anybody into sci-fi.
  22. Drives me mad that - why do quacks still give out anti-biotics for symptoms of a virus? They do nothing for viruses and over prescribing them makes them ineffective against serious bacterial infections.
  23. You're interested in facts now?! It was meant to be ironic.
  24. I think it varies a fair bit every year as they have to guess what the strains are and cook up a vaccine that covers the most likely suspects in pretty short order to get it manufactured in time.
