  1. OK performance, good result. Some lovely stuff in bits and pieces in the first half in particular, but lost the fluidity in the second and relied too much on Forest being shite. I thought Pack had a good game as did Flint, honourable mentions for Reid and Patterson. For a squad with 8 or so injuries we did very well. Roll on the big distraction!
  2. Very good result, well done City. LJ got that team selection and approach spot on.
  3. Good result and a good performance all round, all the more pleasing because it was against Colin's long ball cheats. I don't think they offered much, we outfought and out-thought them and we'd have won 11 vs 11 anyway. For me Joe Bryan, Callum O'Dowda and Aden Flint stood out. Brownhill and Smith also played well overall as did Reid who nearly scored the goal of the season taking the piss out of Cardiff's defence but not getting enough trickery into the final shot. Baker looked a little off the pace but was playing with an injury and Magnússon has to come on a long way if he's to stay, he lacked confidence and control too often though his throw for the winner was superb. Djuric worked hard and won a lot in the air, but needs to find a little bit of match sharpness as he made the wrong choice a little too often. Looks like he's gained a lot of strength whilst out injured as he's much harder to push around now than he was when he first arrived. Fielding didn't have a right lot to do but with the ball at his feet he's a continual worry. Why can't we coach him through how to use those things on the end of his legs? Pack was silly to lunge in on Bamba when already on a yellow but there was nowhere near as much contact as Bamba pretended. Bogle's was a straight red all day long. Taking off Pack was a very smart move by LJ as I'm certain Cardiff would have found a way to earn him a second yellow. It was great to see O'Dowda's first league goal, he has come on leaps and bounds in the last 6 weeks (Eire call up helped him?) and now looks like he's going to win the ball every time he goes for it. Well done City and LJ - more of the same after another annoying international break please.
  4. Great result, well done City. Looks like LJ's selection paid off massively.
  5. Only if it was Bristol Rugby that ended up owning the ground the sags stole.
  6. I'd have had Djuric in for Pack myself and pushed Patterson wide right. I imagine this side is being picked to overload the midfield when not in possession, not sure that's a good idea but let's hope it works.
  7. I think he was definitely too heavy, not moving anywhere near as quickly as previous fights. Bulking up is ok but he wasn't exactly short on power or unable to take a hit. I think he'll come quite a bit lighter next time.
  8. Bit weak that. Cuts often lead to refs jumping in early though.
  9. What is that thick padded girdle Sanchez is wearing? How do you get away with that?
  10. I went for sodaplayer which plays the acestream links. Looks great.
  11. /r/boxing bans them. http://cricfree.sc/watch/live/sky-box-office-fight-night-live-streaming is working at the mo.
  12. Aren't they the only team in history to have been knocked out of the league cup in the preliminary round?
  13. He's also fluent in utter horseshit.
  14. Looking forward to tonight's highlights. Did the dog whisperer have any good excuses or was it just 100% cliche again?
  15. He would have drunk himself into an earlier grave if he'd had to watch that.
  16. Nigel Clough's old man must be spinning in his grave after that 12 men behind the ball shite his boy just served up. They wasted time from the first few minutes, faked injuries, failed to return the ball after faking injuries and basically never ventured out of their first third. I remember a few away sides parking the bus under Wilson but I've never seen anything like that, to put only three or four players ahead of the ball when they have a free kick 10 yards inside our half says it all. I hope Burton get relegated with extreme prejudice, twice if possible. The referee should be taken to the nearest glue factory and recycled as PVA. He was without a shadow of a doubt the worst official I can remember seeing at Ashton Gate. Not only was he hugely over fussy about where free kicks were taken from he was entirely inconsistent in his decisions, failed to use a stopwatch properly, got conned for the entire game, bottled out of a clear red card, bottled out of a clear yellow for delaying the restart and forgot basics like making a player receiving treatment leave the field. He was atrocious to the point where I would investigate betting patterns. As for us, we contrived to **** up just about every final ball. Aside from that we were good. There's little else to say, it was very frustrating.
  17. Six defeats in five is special even by their standards.
  18. A scrappy game with a few nice bits of play, fairly frustrating to watch and two ugly goals. We never looked in any danger and the stats show an exceptionally one sided game - you might think the sending off had some bearing but it really didn't seem to be any different before that. The second yellow was definitely a yellow, can't recall the first but it's not that relevant really if you know you've been booked you don't go in late. I thought there were some good individual performances in particular Bryan, O'Dowda even if he did overplay a little and Reid. Diedhiou worked hard and is getting there on the ball but still needs to be a bit stronger and aware. Pack wasn't at the races and Patterson a bit anonymous in the first half. IMO we missed Brownhill in the middle. Pleased to see that Eliasson didn't look out of place when he came on and does look to be strong with both feet - some crosses that caused real problems even when they didn't look perfectly struck - he is definitely learning the positional side. Bolton had little quality, I thought they were worse than Millwall but not quite as utterly hopeless as Barnsley however they certainly have their work cut out for them staying up. 3 points and a clean sheet was a good result, but I do expect pretty much every home game to be harder than that. Well done City.
