  1. “And we got him cheap” ??
  2. I remember they were furious at Bell going for a paltry tribunal-set fee ? (remember those?!)
  3. Barton and the blue few were always a perfect match.
  4. 10 points off the play offs…though 10 points off the drop zone. Based on their sudden combustion you’d wager they’ll be sinking pretty ******* fast ??
  5. I’ve always backed him until the Boxing Day shitshow v WBA, when I felt he’d lost the dressing room. Since then he’s made me eat my words, and for that he deserves the axe ??
  6. Brilliant result. About time we got something more than a point from Deepdale ?
  7. That match was fantastic. The team were unshackled, Thorpe back in from the cold and a 3-2 win. I nearly toppled off the back wall of the terrace trying to stand on it at full time, in celebration ?
  8. Have the gasheads popped up on their forum yet?!
  9. Bet their forum is positively seething right now. Spanked at Morecambe, then have to see the ‘gert teds/82ers/whatever nickname they create for us’ drawing Man City in the cup. The absolute mental gymnastics their puny minds must be going through to justify their worldview that somehow, some way, they’re the bigger club ?
  10. The more I look back on those days the more I shudder. For every decent but there were about twenty others who clogged up our wage bill.
  11. A Blackburn supporting mate got a bit of verbal from me for the audacity of us being mixed up with a team in blue and white ?
  12. As someone who suffers with depression may I say following City never helps In all seriousness, I’m glad it’s made her feel better, and, in my experience, watching City has brought me more pleasure than despair over the past 28 years since my first match. Even when the football is rubbish the sheer joy of seeing the ground as you walk towards it on matchday is the perfect tonic, the post match chat, and then listening to Radio Bristol on the way home still makes me smile
  13. In fairness to them, they lack the basic critical reasoning to see beyond magic beans….
  14. Reading the City Facebook page comments indicates a number of our fans don’t understand FFP ?
  15. Could be appearance fee related (probably on a decent wedge for that, despite our finances @Davefevs happy for you to correct me on that), along with injury concerns, Zak playing well with Atkinson etc.
  16. Christ, that’s some link. Guessing he stepped out of the 1980s school of football policing…
  17. Hasn’t done Brentford any harm…
  18. They probably claim it’s ‘fan culture’ or some other label to justify it…?
  19. Sold!!!!! Though not too sure about leaving my car parked round there….:D
  20. Definitely. He’s still young so plenty of time to develop.
  21. He was fantastic. Looked composed and comfortable at RB, a really solid performance.
  22. I sit in B block, so here’s what I saw. Positives: good atmosphere, they made some noise so there’s that. Negatives: the newbies to A block treated it as if it were unreserved seating. There were a number standing on the stairwells….and you could see the regulars looking peeved at not being able to get to their seats. If it’s to continue then there needs to be some give and take in order for the club to allow it, the trouble with some fans is if they’re given an inch they’ll take a yard.
  23. The morning of the match, the walk to the ground, grabbing a cuppa, and enjoying the build up still gets me even now. Even when the team’s on a poor run, that pre-match buzz is always a joy. The 90 minutes spoils it but I’m back again a week later. Suppose that’s what makes football so great-it’s that the highs are fleeting, but when they come God do they feel good.
  24. Bet whoever takes it will do that stupid shuffle run-up, then sky it.
  25. I reckon Ashton put a hex on us when he left.
