  1. The commentary on ESPN was really poor, with lots of gushing over "premier league quality" and this "this we surely be LM biggest result yet as manger". Although he did say something JL would like - "Bristol City are the ones really playing front-foot football now!"
  2. Something we developed under NP that was huge today was defending set pieces. We were terrible when NP arrived and now even against Ward-Prowse you feel a confidence we can defend them well. Really strong defensive performance today. Great game! Bell much improved, Tommy with a goal, Pring looking awesome, and Max MOTM performance - wonderful stuff! COYR
  3. Judging by today (don't watch a lot of Prem), Bowen would be a huge miss, thought he was fantastic, off the ball to - amazing movement.
  4. Think I read something about the international broadcasting only being aloud 10 mins before kick off - unless it's picked as a main game. That is certainly always the case for these types of games here in California.
  5. I do live in the US and had a family member try and order from them. They first tried to get it delivered to the UK, but it never arrived. It took them 6 months to get the company to refund. They contacted me to have it delivered here and never delivered + tried to claim it had been signed for. Also looking on trutpilot will highlight these are not isolated experiences. Are two reviews on the first page. They definitely have some sool looking stuff, but I would avoid them.
  6. This is what Pearson said about BT stepping into the role - NP is the one person recently involved with the club whose football opinion I would really trust. He is also the one person I would expect to be honest about his feelings on something like this or abstain from commenting.
  7. I wonder if we could use any (potential) Brownhill clauses as part of the negotiation.
  8. Millwall forums view - Good shape so far Watching some good stuff Tell you what, if their keeper does that thing where he puts his foot on the ball like a ponce one more time, I hope someone cleans his ******* clock. - what an odd thing to get wound up about. Good solid half. Gave them very little. Not exactly blessed with much action, but after the last two results I would have expected a display like this come along, solid and under no real pressure from the home side. We are doing the right thing in being very hard to break down and staying in the game. Good half again...... .....If we press them a bit higher, we’ll win this.
  9. I'd say measured, maybe. Certainly not entertaining, but wouldn't say we've played badly - However, you want to see us take it to the opposition more at home, up the tempo a bit. We're maybe a little to concerned with preventing them springing their counter attack.
  10. Two fantastic balls out from Vyner. Breaking the lines with one pass
  11. Obviously, I'm not saying this is why he is starting, but looking at the Millwallfans forums and social - they were hoping we wouldn't bring Weimann on early to see him as a boggy player and seem to loathe him in general for some reason. I remember the hat trick against them a couple of years ago (another New Year's game I think!?), but other than that I'm not sure why he seems to feature in their thoughts so much.
  12. Pretty dull game, but a point away 4 unbeaten. Not too bad. Think we'll see a little more quality at home against Millwall.
  13. Well, I'd say controlled, but a bit dull. Not helped by a pretty terrible atmosphere. We've had some okay chances mostly through crosses from Sykes. A few lazy passes here and there would like us to sharpen up a bit. Side note - interesting to see the difference between Wells and TC. To me, Wells seems to occupy defenders/make space by sitting a little deeper and pressing hard. Where as TC seems to occupy defenders more with his positioning, and moving them around.
  14. From what I can see Birmingham fans are excited about Donovan starting (might be his first start), Just 17, one to keep an eye on maybe.
  15. found this on youtube assume this is it:
  16. When they are passing at the back and even into midfield there is no threat, so yes, think you can let them have the ball in those positions. They have possession but it is controled. The impetus is on them to do something with it not for us to win it back.
  17. I think the possession stat is thrown because for nearly the entire 2nd half we were 2 up and didn't need to chase the game. So we were able to let them have the ball and almost say see if you can play through us. It's part of what I thought made a confident performance. The press was great and disciplined, we weren't in a hurry to get it back. We were confident the opportunity to do so would come.
  18. I think LM pretty much said that's what it would be like - having a general style of play, but also coaching the players with different options and letting them problem-solve to work out what is working and not working once on the pitch.
  19. - this post made me think - I loved Annis today (I mentioned elsewhere more so for his defensive performance!). I was commenting just a few weeks ago we need someone for the left forward position and that it should be a priority in Jan - I'm not saying we shouldn't be looking or that Twine wouldn't be a great signing, but in just a few performances from Annis it already feels a less pressing concern. I think the most exciting thing about it is it still feels like he can improve from where he is.
  20. Top, top, top post! Wish we could all acknowledge that without the back-and-forth point scoring. Great performance today, no way we play like that without having both Manning and Pearson having been at the club. Let's enjoy it!
  21. Good post. I think the key is to get to the point where we can change the tenses in your sentence - "Everyone knows their role. We move forward with purpose." then we know we're onto something. They actually start of by praising our Match Day thread and praise it for having info they didn't even know about Watford! Once again great stuff @Jerseybean quote - "Damn, we need to up our game!" Their comments on the game are below: Looks like Manning has done a number on us, we can't seem to find any space at all, yet they seem to have bags of it, especially down our right. 2-0 is a fair scoreline... All too easy for Bristol City. A stroll in the park for them. Bristol have just been sharper than us all game. Frustrating. Wow, this has been absolutely atrocious, how disappointing after a decent few games. Thought Bristol City looked decent, could be in the play offs come the end of the season. Smith on comms is saying it hasn't been a 1-4 game, but let's just say it's been far more a 1-4 game than Preston was a 5-1 game! All too easy for City. They didn't need to break a sweat. They were confident of a victory and it was simple for them, a Christmas gift. Can they get 5 . We could have lost at Preston and Blackburn by the same score. We concede chances and are a liability at the back sometimes. When you go 2 down you have no choice but to leave spaces chasing the game. Lovely of the lads to be full of christmas spirit and give Bristol City so many gifts, so proud of them for such a selfless act. Normal service will be resumed next game. Bristol City played with the confidence of a side with a new manager bounce, and the energy of a side who had an extra day's rest. Fair play to Bristol City as they approached the game with the correct attitude and hunger and made us look like we were a group of hungover Sunday league players. Fair play to Manning, Bristol could spring a surprise on the league for the remainder of the season. Bristol left a forward between our CBs when out of possession and then pressed us high and we simply couldn’t build out from the back at all. At one point in the 2nd half they were 3-1 up away from home and holding their defensive line on the half way line - no pace in behind, no plan B from us - completely suffocated (Don't normally comment directly on the quotes, but this is where Conway is excellent - a lot of his work is ard to notice. Do like the Watford fans some good self reflection and insights). Before the rant, well done Bristol City and Manning. Setup correctly, attacked us down right where we are weakest, made Hoedt score another own goal then make him play their striker onside for their third goal. Fourth goal I didn't see because I turned it off near the end. As bad as we were, credit has to go to BC today and take nothing away from them, they battered us all game and forced us into errors and took their chances. They could have scored more goals by then though, we were lucky to get 1 today! Too many errors - gifted them 3 goals. Shame we scored then let one in straight away . We looked leggy and lazy really BC pressed us well and very dangerous on the break and down their left . We've been awesome since my decision to stop going to games. Today I decided to go for the first time since we have been good. This result is on me. I promise I will stay away. This result has been in the cards for some time. I’ve felt we’ve ridden our luck in a lot of recent performances. Today the luck ran out and the real Watford were revealed. Bristol City were excellent. That number 11 was an absolute nuisance.
  22. To be fair if you aren't making a point why start a whole thread about this? I think if someone starts a thread and then just posts a short sentence, it's pretty fair to ask what they are getting at.
  23. What are you talking about !- LM is either the Manager that destroyed the club!! Or the messiah that will lead us to world domination!!! Are yo seriously suggesting there is anything in between those to options!
