  1. This thread just goes to prove how awful football forums are - a decent question met with idiocy.
  2. I thank him for nothing. He was a poor appointment I never wanted as he had ( and still has ) not achieved anything as a manager - nothing. I am sure his heart was in it and he worked hard and loved the club but anyone earning what he did would do the same for heavens sake. I am glad to see the back of him and wish it had happened sooner. All this rubbish about season on season improvement - think on - appoint a manager when you are in 20th position and ten years later you are in 9th position with the same manager - you have had season on season improvement but come on - rubbish comment .
  3. Brentford have the joint best defensive record in the division - that is why they are odds on favourites !
  4. All this finishing higher is for the birds sadly. You appoint a manager / coach and he finishes 16th. Six tears later he finishes 10th - still way outside the play offs. He is a star because he has improved year on year ?? Get real for Gods sake - going nowhere !!
  5. What are the odds ? Somewhere between 10 and 12 million pounds worth of signings on the bench because they are LJ players for the future ! Sad that the eleven selected will probably lose the match. The guy is a nonsense - always has been and always will be - hopeless signings, hopeless tactics, hopeless selections and hopeless subs. One of these seasons he will get found out big time but will SL care - past caring personally - BCFC going nowhere, ever with this man as head coach.
  6. Idiot decision in my view - what football manager ever deserved a four year contract - or rugby/cricket/NFL et al for that matter. Just a hope and a prayer but not good for the club !
  7. Totally agree with that and LJ signings, subs and tactics d not fill me with confidence - I think he will be gone by Christmas.
  8. As Stan Mortenson once said to me when we both played for Bath City decades ago - nothing else is relevant if you do not score goals ! We have a record striker signing who has scored how many ?? Add to that the utterly clueless selection and tactics at home by our super duper manager and we got what we deserved - never mind - we might finish one place above last season so Colin will have it right and LJ is on the best ever job - I doubt we will be fighting off offers to recruit him. Going nowhere with LJ but how many care any more - note that Mids beat Reading at home but LJ thought we got a
  9. Not many LJ lovers around on this thread are there !!
  10. Please explain why we should be. I recently returned from visiting friends in Huddersfield. They have a football ground about the same size as ours and equally appalling parking. They are owned by a rich man but he is not even close to SL in terms of wealth. The have a smaller population by far and have to compete with other top clubs who are within easy travelling distance - both the Manchester clubs just for starters. They are in their second season in the Prem. So why should we be content with mid table mediocrity in the Championship. Please explain !!
  11. Lots of stats on this thread and I know stats can be twisted but I looked it up and was a bit surprised.......to me the only stat that really matters is the managers win percentage during his time at the club. Of our fairly recent managers ( not counting the short term incumbents ) top dog is Wilson with 47.35% then Cotterill with 45.69% then LJ with 40.34% then his Dad with 40.17% - my surprise was that as at now LJ is ahead of GJ. As for the other figures Wilson has been there and done it but sadly not with us ! Make of it what you will but in a managerial career of over 150 matches a diffe
  12. That's alright then it doesn't matter if you haven't improved over nearly three years as long as you haven't played the same number of games - idiot - we could be in the division below but that would be OK as we haven't played the same number of games - God save us !
  13. Just something for everyone to consider. When LJ was appointed in Feb 2016 we were in position 20 with 32 points. Over 33 months later we are in position 14 with 22 points. If that is progress and progression then ...........?
  14. Sorry gang but I told you so - come back happy clappers and make your excuses !
  15. As Clint Eastwood once famously said = what's deserve got to do with anything !
