  1. what's really impressive is our energy and desire across the pitch to a man. We seem keener and leaner and yet a team that has predominantly been built by others and that has had to develop and learn . If Manning and the rest of the coaching staff has got this out of the existing group it bodes well when you recruit in specific players to play this system.
  2. Yep the signs are good and it is no fluke that over the 4 games (and nearly 400 minutes of football) against premier league opposition we have matched or bettered what's in front of us and played some good football in the process. Just look at the comments from pundits and commentators during those games, commending our approach with only the finishing department the difference. Keep the faith!

  4. Heard a discussion on Talk sport earlier about the most profitable academies in the world (based on total sales 2014 to 2023) and thought it would be interesting if we feature after the recent sales of Scott and Semenyo and sure enough City are in the top 100 in the world. Yes I know ...only more money for the nest egg! ...but the discussion earlier on the radio was very much this is the only way forward with FFP. https://football-observatory.com/WeeklyPost446
  5. I have a feeling it will be more never the Twine shall meet
  6. Visiting Oxford fan quote.....? The experience i thought for the home fans before the match was pretty impressive especially for a 1st round cup match albeit it was a nice warm evening which of course helps. But, to me it showed a complete disparity to the Eileen gaggle some 5.4 miles away in how/why this cider gang are so much further ahead in stadia/status than the 15 stand pirate malarkey's located in Horfield. It must be gutting at times seeing your city neighbours whooping it up in a higher league, a three quarter finished modern 27k stadium especially when most of the gas's stands could easily be blown away in a single gale force wind .
  7. and as a side bet, Skybet offering 28-1 to win the playoffs (oddschecker)
  8. Made the EFL short list though https://www.efl.com/contentassets/f3b2d9d8c2d042ccaef24e834db57a5f/top5goals-13mar.mp4
  9. seems to have deteriorated quite rapidly since drawing Man City in the cup - just saying like?
  10. A fag packet estimate at an average of £35 a ticket x 26500 (maxed out cup capacity) that's receipts of around £925K. Take out costs and then 45%per club would leave around 350-400K for us. I thought I read somewhere that TV money is more like £125k per club which means around £1/2 million take home from this round alone(or £3/4 million if we were to get through?). A useful injection to the club's bank balance but not a game changer. Alex Scott playing in front of a live terrestrial audience .......now that's a game changer!
  11. Really cant bemoan a player when they get a chance to move to the PL. Huge thanks to one of the most exciting players we have a had in a long time. Also to Tinnion and the club for nurturing a rough diamond in to a real gem and who knows where he could go if he nails down the consistency bit.
  12. Whilst Pearson alluded to the fact that half the team were saying wtf with the wurzel music - is that supposed to wind them up or us.??? .. meanwhile Local boy Sam Bell ran out with the wurzels ringing in his ears to the slightly modified tune of "black SWAN I'll ave eee"
  13. Answering my own question but after a bit of google research it turns out it was called Big League (by Chad Valley) - clearly very niche compared to Subbuteo
  14. I didn't have subbuteo but had a version of a football game...dont know what the game was called (and dont think it was the super striker game mentioned above) where you would pull back the spring loaded leg of the player and get some pretty good kicks. Any ideas? All I remember is that if you tried to get too much out of the spring leg it would pop out the hip socket. I remember always gluing players back together as well.
  15. Hillingdon Tube stop just of the M40. Cheap tube in and out and ample parking at station + reasonable rate(at least on Sunday when I last used it). Only negative is that it can be a bit of bun fight getting out of the car park.
  16. Honestly if you really need to find something to moan about tonight maybe question Sykes decision making in lunging on Freeman after getting frustrated seconds before. And even then and to be fair to Sykes how was he to know the ref even had a whistle in his pocket let alone a red card! We were well on top at that stage due to our pressing system and there is no way you can press effectively with only 10 on the pitch. Seriously Pearson made the right calls and is fully vindicated by the result, and the result alone.
  17. betting fix? because if not that has to go down as one of the most clown arse sending offs ever!
  18. Could be aimed at the City women's team/supporters as they play in the same league as Lewes? I suspect a bored gashead however training in digital manipulation
  19. As much as I like the Colin Murray Quest show, this is at long last a chance to see the EFL in HD rather than that grainy standard definition old school stuff
  20. "Robin' a Living Stadium" with Callum O'Dowda the patron
  21. Southern Premier which is next league down (3rd tier). They along with Ipswich are very good teams at this level and vying for promotion to the women's Championship.
  22. Looks like our horse punching friends have a rival village idiot??? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-49823006
  23. yeah well done all the numpties who called for mags to be subbed - luckily LJ know better than you!!!
