  1. Such sad news. RIP Norman x
  2. Not enough box entries today
  3. Some pretty good points made in your post Badger. I think it’s worthwhile taking a step back and appreciating the good work LJ has done in his tenure & for that of course he deserves respect. Some of the vitriol directed at him is ridiculous & way over the top to say the least. As you quite rightly state, in the modern game there is far more to management than just selecting 11 players. Under LJ we have at times played good football, experienced some unbelievable highs....(beating Man U an obvious one) seen sizeable progression as a club & I think what we can agree on is we are in a far better position as a club, as a whole now than when he first took over. However I’m not convinced we can all agree we wouldn’t be in this position if it wasn’t for LJ & his staff. There are so many over factors involved. SL has obviously played a huge role, O’Driscoll & Cotterill also to an extent in laying the foundations to name a few. He has also been backed massively and in the transfer market. Yes we don’t have the backing some clubs do but it’s hardly as if he’s working with one hand tied behind his back? Plenty of managers & clubs higher than us past & present haven’t had that type of investment. Given the resources he has had to work with surely the bare minimum would of been to have established us as a top half champ club!? Those before him could only of dreamt of those foundations to build from. The Championship is of course an extremely competitive league & even the most unrealistic of City fans can’t expect LJ or anyone to deliver promotion as a given. It doesn’t mean LJ hasn’t done a good job, of course he has but I don’t see how what he has done with the backing he has had means we wouldn’t be where we are without him? Grateful & respectful of what he’s done but let’s not kid ourselves. We can’t honestly say that another manager & his back room team given the same backing wouldn’t have done as good a job surely? Whilst we can’t dispute the good work LJ & co have done to date, it definitely doesn’t mean we wouldn’t be where we are without him. I do feel even his biggest detractors have to appreciate all the good but for me he has taken us as far as he can now. It’s time for a change. I appreciate he has had to sell players during his time but he has also signed over 50 players during his reign. We still have no style, no system, no identity and for me we have become stale. We don’t need to supplement this with more random signings. He deserves respect but not another window. The football this season has been poor & I just think we need someone else with a fresh approach now. Respect the good he has done but there can be no sentiment. He has taken us as far as he can.
  4. One of his better games today. He wasn’t at fault at all.

Absolutely superb. I would be absolutely amazed if he doesn’t forge a career in the prem. I would not swap him & Kalas for any other pairing in the division.
  6. Why persist then if after 2 & a half seasons he’s STILL not 100% fit? I can’t actuslly recall a game he’s started in & been effective in for 90 minutes.
  7. Nail on head fella. he is also taking up the place of anyone from the youth/development squad that could offer exactly what he does.
  8. Does he? Based on what? Weimann has scored more league goals for us in one month than Taylor has in 2 and a half seasons. Neither will ever score enough goals at this level but at least Weimann has performed at this level over a number of seasons. Taylor hasn’t. I am far from Weimann’s biggest fan & he is woefully out of form at the moment. He is of course very limited but to say Taylor offers more is wide of the mark for me.
  9. Surely people can’t be serious about offering him a new deal? Apart from the odd decent 15 minute cameo what has he done since signing for us? On the rare occasion he starts he doesn’t make the most of it & is largely ineffective. The blokes 29 in March & has a very poor goal record for us. Clearly never going to be good enough at this level. He works hard granted but if we want to kick on we need to be looking to improve on old no goals. Risk free at the price we paid but it hasn’t worked out.
  10. After Webster went off I thought it would be a turning point in the game. Thankfully it wasn’t as Wright was solid. Really good performance, even more impressive considering it was his first game back in ages.
  11. Get him signed on a 2 year deal. The bloke is a physical beast. I didn’t expect him to be this good. He was immense today & is a real top quality keeper. Not many better in the division for me. Great bit of business!
  12. I remember our mini bus being sandwiched between a load of coaches full of Stoke fans after our LDV final defeat to them at Wembley all those years ago. Took some serious abuse that day, so today was a bit of long over due pay back after seeing the melt down from their fans. They can give Rowett stick as he clearly isn’t doing a great job but the problem doesn’t rest with just him surely? They have a squad full of massive time prima donnas. They money being paid to some of those ‘footballers’ is frightening.
  13. Not sure on the circumstances why he went but since he left we haven’t got in anyone even close to how good he was.

I agree on moving him on but realistically who would be interested in a player with his wages & injury record? I don’t believe he holds much value at all and I struggle to see much potential interest. I agree on Taylor & Fielding also. Take whatever we can get for those two.

If we could get anything for him or find a club that would pay his wages I would get rid now. No point having a player you can’t rely on.
  16. He’s always been welcome? Not sure how we can fully welcome him? Pretty obvious very early on he was easily better than FF. very good addition! Not sure what no emotional attachment has to do with it though!?
  17. I would actually respect SL more if he holds firm and doesn’t give the dwarf any more money to waste on a striker. Granted goal scorers are not easy to come by & in fairness we have a limited budget but LJ himself has signed and spent good money on every single striker we currently have at the club.... Fammy, Taylor, Weimann, Eisa & considering he keeps playing Paterson just off a striker we can class him in that bracket as well...yet all because of LJ’s tactical incompetence & his & MA’s consistent failure in the transfer market we now need another striker!? Honestly SL you are being taken the piss out of by MA & your midget mate or shall we now refer to him as bob the builder....as he likes ‘to build’ apparently.
  18. Well said mate but sadly LJ has a job for as long as he wants it. I am a realistic City fan, mid table & progress is more than enough for me. However it would actually be nice to watch some good football with a forward thinking manager. We have no identity what so ever & a manager who is simply clueless. I miss the passion & desire that used to run through me when going to watch City. With LJ I am just completely drained of any interest or excitement watching us. He has taken all that away for me. I will still always go but I honestly can’t remember a time where I have had such a lack of motivation to go. We as fans have had some serious ups & downs following City & always will but I honestly can’t recall a time where there was such a lack of enthusiasm amongst the fans as there is now.

Ah yes....the road runner.... just because someone works hard does not mean they have a footballing brain. He’s a great pro no question, work rate is phenomenal but sadly that’s all he offers. As some have stated not helped by the constant tinkering with the side but I’m interested to know what people see in him that suggests he has a ‘footballing brain’!? I really do admire the blokes work rate and commitment but that’s not always enough when you need to score or create chances.
  20. This!!!!!! Weimann works hard but what else does he offer? You could train a dog to do what he does at the moment. Granted maybe he’s not an out and out striker but he just seems to have no quality or goal threat. Fammy can be so frustrating but I do find it amazing that Weimann is excused for poor performances based in work rate. I also don’t think it suits Fammy when we seem to play more direct when he starts. Certainly not beneficial when he’s up there on his own, or without anyone running in behind or playing close enough to him. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Fammy got more goals come the end of the season than Weimann & Taylor put together. Our quality (or lack of) strikers is a real concern. Fammy might to be the best but he’s far more likely to score than anyone else. Pretty desperate at the moment.
  21. Bring back the jock! He was amazing
  22. In all seriousness why would anyone want to give DM another chance? Absolutely not from me. DM makes LJ look like Guardiola.
  23. Agree with this. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but booing your own players is idiotic.
  24. I’m glad someone started a thread on this. I thought he was superb. Granted he’s been poor this season but for me some of the criticism has been over the top. He’s still by a country mile the best finisher we have. I also think he can bring the best out of Paterson in the no.10 role. Weimann is not a lone striker and although he works tirelessly he is not going to score the goals to get us out of trouble.
