  1. I would agree when referring to genuine fans WR, but as my post eluded to I was referring to the day tripping dullards, not the genuine fans. Like you I have done a lot of ground hopping over the years & we have a lot of idiots acting under the guise of being a Bristol city or football fan for that matter.
  2. The majority of the younger ‘followers’ look up to the older stone island knock off wearing Neanderthals & aspire to be like them though that’s what’s worrying. You make some good points @RedMbut in my experiences the age is mixed and the 25ish age group are equally as culpable. I label them followers as whilst this conversation about these morons has been had before, these idiots are most definitely not fans & it does a great disservice to our actual fans. These brainless cretins use City as an excuse to have a day out, act like bell ends & get hammered. They don’t care about the football. If they aren’t turning up late & spending an afternoon abusing home & away fans like at bmouth they will only be spending the rest of the time in the concourse throwing bins around or something well thought out like that. Every club has them but we unfortunately have more than most. Embarrassing. I do always have a chuckle to myself though when I see the old ‘top boys’ decked out in stone island gear trying to re live ‘the glory years’.
  3. Agreed. Scott can deliver a decent ball whereas James literally just clips it in with no pace or whip whatsoever. His passes have absolutely zero pace on them as well.
  4. As others have eluded to, James looked a decent acquisition at the start of the season but overall he has been pretty average. I struggle to see what his main attributes are? He tends to drop deep to get the ball off the centre half’s to ponderously play it side ways to the full backs. I wouldn’t mind if he could dictate the tempo like Williams can do on his good days but he can’t. Games seem to pass him by & I have absolutely no idea why he’s on corners & free kicks when his delivery is poor. Agree with the OP as I genuinely don’t think I could describe what type of midfielder he is.
  5. Good honest pro but we really couldn’t have. Miles behind JD & Pring & never a champ level player sadly.
  6. Can we include the free drink & scarf as a positive? Also the Dove inn pub is well worth a visit. As for the match I agree with the OP
  7. I’ve missed these type of over reactions for all of a few days ? This isn’t a great City side but we’ve seen much worse in half that time. Scott & Semenyo offer a bit of hope at least.
  8. Would love a trip to Goodison next season but for as poor as they were tonight, I can’t see them going down. I think they have too much fire power in comparison to the other teams around them.
  9. You won’t ever win anything with a dodgy Kepa ?
  10. Tiger Tansley. What a man. I miss him on here!!
  11. Good riddance. Blokes a bellend. In fairness he’s done a very good job at posh across his multiple spells with them. Interesting to see if he gets back in the game elsewhere. LJ in waiting!?
  12. I am going tomorrow but have a spare senior ticket, going for a drastically reduced rate if anyone wants it. PM me if interested.
  13. Embarrassing for sure. Still at least it gave the knuckle draggers something else to sing other than that god awful O’Dowda one they haven’t quite managed to evolve ?
  14. I thought he struggled to influence the game against the immaculate Alex Scott & the energetic HNM. I struggle to see how anyone could boo or abuse ex players like Pack or Flint, especially given their contributions to the club. I wished them well when they left and nothing has changed, just thankful both were on the losing side today.
  15. Very mature performance from him today. 18 years old….wow. Let that sink in a minute. What a talent.
  16. Certainly no stressing on my part….generally on a forum these things are said to engage debate, hence why I commented. It was an interesting comparison so I don’t get why you are getting so defensive about it why people respond to it. Relax fella ?
  17. Kevin Betsy is a bizarre comparison. Plus Antoine is currently playing as a striker not a winger. It’s clear that he has all the attributes to be a top player at this level. If he can improve his finishing then who knows how far he can go.
  18. His return has been a turning point for us this season and is also why we don’t need a striker this window. Amazing how so many wrote him off and claimed he couldn’t score goals. Not all strikers need to score 20+ a season to be effective. I think it’s worth remembering as well that until this season he’s not had a run of games as a striker for us. Yes his finishing needs to improve but he’s still young and will get better. He contributes so much when he plays though. He’s decent back to goal, has pace and power and creates chances. We are a different side when he plays and far more fluid going forward.
  19. Don’t worry Ian will already know the team and would of kept changing it on Twitter until he gets it right ??
  20. Are you ok? How do you know if any of the above were available or not? Man C named 2 keepers fri night so maybe even they struggle to name 9 subs during a time of the season where injuries are common & you can add Covid into that mix of course.
  21. No they couldn’t of. Man City didn’t even get out of first gear and were very wasteful. If they needed to up it they could of I feel.
  22. Good news. He’s still got a lot to learn but has already come on really well this season. Improving and growing in confidence all the time.
  23. For those who keep saying stuff like ‘this is by far the worst football/side etc we have had in some time’….they clearly don’t remember the McInnes era. Del wasn’t helped by the club and lack of any solid foundations. It was all a bit of a mess in truth but he didn’t help himself at all. He had a difficult job it must be said, but some of his signings defied belief and his use (or lack) of certain players was really poor. That said he was a likeable guy and I wish him well, in all honesty I completely forgot he got the chop at Aberdeen. His record in Scotland though is decent and I’ve no doubt he will do a good job at Kilmarnock.
  24. AW definitely divides opinion and can frustrate but if he was more technically gifted he wouldn’t be with us, as many have already eluded to. Regardless of his good and bad points, we have to understand where we are currently at and he is a valuable player to us. Time to focus more on what he can do rather than what he can’t. I would gladly take plenty of indifferent moments throughout games if he can score a few more doubles (that usually lead to us getting all 3 points) or a day like yesterday where he scored 3 superbly taken goals. What can’t be overlooked though is that after the injury he suffered, to come back and return a career best goals return, only half way through the season is really quite something. His desire and professionalism is exemplary.
