Give Matty James another 2 year deal which someone of his age and experience would demand and expect. He might not play every minute of every game, but he's class and experience is invaluable for the team. I feel like City run the risk of losing him, should they prehaps only offer him a 1 year deal, and sure MJ could easily get offers of 2 years elsewhere. Maybe even Derby to replace Bird.
