  1. Is this what you meant? Damning words from the former Head of Catering at Bristol Rovers and now Head of Matchday & Hospitality at Forest Green. Iain Paterson @IainPat1883 I could write a book mate. Working at The Mem was a real eye opener on how not to run a club. I've been a Rovers fan for 35 years and like you all, just want the best for the mighty blues. Unfortunately the club is currently being run by incompetent charlatans, so we're ****ed! Ah, I see that @bcfc01 has already replied.
  2. I read that the referee collided with a couple of players and the lengthy delay was because they had to find a qualified referee in the crowd to act as the fourth official.
  3. That's interesting. Did you never drive yourself?
  4. Well, be that as it may, I prefer my version .
  5. My wife and daughters went out for an Indian dinner on Christmas Day, would you believe, and I had the same or, at least, similar - Nalli Nihari. Not in Urban Tandoor, but in a very nice Indian restaurant.
  6. My wife and I hold the same view about Valentines Day. We haven't eaten out on February 14 for years, but usually have a very nice romantic dinner (dressed up, candles etc.) and a nice bottle of wine. Far nicer all round.
  7. Ooh. I am most certainly no expert, but I thought Jonas had lost that.
  8. You should have also asked about Crackers Corner in the East End, just to confuse matters further. Hopefully, someone will provide a detailed answer, but East End is a bit of a misnomer. Does that answer your question?
  9. Whilst life frequently seems to be unfair, I find there is always something extremely poignant when someone in the emergency services or, in this case, the RNLI, volunteers no less, dies so young. They frequently put their lives at risk to save others, and disappear so soon. Very sad.
  10. OK, I understand, there is no need to rub it in . Unfortunately, my wife doesn’t really like monkfish, Poor Man’s Lobster, so we rarely eat it at home, although I do often make myself a tasty lunch of monkfish cheeks with chorizo. I shall make sure to try the chilli monkfish dish next time I am across, probably next month or March.
  11. And, according to Joey, not very good at them either .
  12. I see this one quoted quite frequently, but, for some reason, I can never seem to get it - there is always a message (along with what looks like the old testcard) saying they are experiencing technical difficulties.
  13. I didn't know it was an unusual surname, but I used to work with a very nice girl many years ago (late 1970s) whose surname was Torrington. From Portishead, if I remember correctly.
  14. GJ's son, Lee, also called out Taylor Moore after one game, when, in my opinion, he was not even at fault for the defeat in question. Totally out of order and unjustified.
  15. I share your views entirely concerning Eastern Europeans. Your comment about Zambians brought back some fond memories. Many years ago I used to visit construction sites in the Middle East, and would often look somewhat disdainfully at the labourers (Indian, Pakistani, Yemeni and the like), lazy and trying their damnedest to avoid working - Yes, I understood that external manual work in extreme temperatures is tiring. The Zambians, however, were a totally different case, throwing themselves in to quite physical work, and always with a smile on their face.
  16. I have been there a few times and agree it is better than OK. I think a lot depends, however, on what dishes you order. I found that the 'traditional' standard dishes, Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala and the like, (ordered by my wife and daughters) were nothing special, but the more specialised dishes were pretty impressive. Unfortunately, I have never tried the chilli monkfish dish, but have read from several posters on here that it is very nice.
  17. Mickey Mouse is having a nasty divorce with Minnie Mouse. Mickey spoke to the judge about the separation. "I'm sorry Mickey, but I can't legally separate you two on the grounds that Minnie is mentally insane..." Mickey replied, "I didn't say she was mentally insane, I said that she's F****** Goofy!"
  18. But, apparently, not a fan of their former manager, Joey Barton....
  19. KSA is and always has been a dictatorship: a brutal, hypocritical, sexist and misogynistic regime, unforgiving to those who don't or won't toe the line, even to fellow Muslims who follow the 'wrong' type of Islam. But, having lived and worked there for several years, unlike many who criticise the Kingdom without ever having set foot in it, I can assure you that it is not boring. I had some really wonderful times there and, as I am sure fellow forum members who have knowledge of the Kingdom, not least our own @BigTone, will attest, it is very much what you make of it, much like any country. I have met people who worked in the Caribbean, who had to leave after just a few months because it was so boring. Venture outside of your protected and sterile compound; embrace the native culture, learn at least the basics of the language (Hello and Thank You is always a good start) and try to respect and engage with the locals; visit the beaches, the surrounding villages and souks. Eat in a local restaurant and try their food. No, you won't be able to accompany your meal with a glass of wine (or even Coca Cola), but their lamb, goat and, on either coast, fresh shrimps and fish is absolutely wonderful. Even camel is fine, although hte hump can be quite tough.
  20. Richard O'Donnell on for Blackpool, who have pulled a goal back against Forest 1-2.
  21. I have seen his name mentioned on numerous threads, but who exactly is Ian Gay?
