  1. That chance where he hit the post was similar to a lot of the goals he scored for Wycombe. I think with the a run in the team he will start putting those away. With Sykes, Mehmeti, TGH and Knight we have the makings of a goalscoring midfield here for the first time in a long time (apologies for the positivity).

Dean Smith. No nonsense British name! Easy, decision made, not sure why the process is taking so long.

Lived in Austria for a bit. His surname is Lieberknecht pronounced a bit like “Lee-burr-k-nekt”. The last bit “knecht” can be quite hard to pronounce for English speakers as we don’t really have words where we pronounce a k next to n, nor do we generally have the “ch” sound (which is a bit like the “ch” in “Loch”).

Maybe ask Andi Weimann to say it, next time you see him. 😉

Saying connect very quickly gets the gist of it. So I'd suggest "Lee-burr-c(o)nnect"

Just noticed the OP has the i and the e mixed up hence the confusion about that part of the pronunciation. It should be Lieberknecht, i before e hence the 'ee' sound.

Also funny to note that a rough translation of his name would be "preferred servant" or "dear servant". Exactly what the Landsdowns are looking for for? 🤔

I was merely pointing out what I’ve pointed out consistently - that this isn’t fisticuffs between like minded people (as your first note said it was), but mindless thuggery disregarding anyone who got in the way (as regrettably happened to you in the second note).

Your second note disproves the first theory, as do a lot of recollections on here. Nobody denies CSF protected you. But if you’d have been Walsall fans and the CSF emerged from a pub, at that time the self same would have happened unless - again, by some miracle - CSF were the only “firm” in the country who didn’t go after any other fans.

How are people still not getting this?

I think you’re underestimating how much extra the Roker roar is worth to them. Not many expected them to beat Leeds in the final and it certainly seems to have given them some real momentum to take into this season.

Things definitely seem to be on the up there since King Ecgfrith of Northumbria granted the land to Benedict Biscop to found a monastery
