  1. Oh dear, I would mind having their problems. Typical overreaction from a Premier league spoilt entitled fan base. ORIB would be in meltdown if the roles were reversed and Conway missed the numerous sitters Vardy missed yesterday.
  2. Pleasantly surprised today! He set up well AND was coaching through the match! We competed well. Played Knight in his best position also which reaped rewards. You can't underestimate the importance of Matty James, just plays it nice and simple. I thought George Tanner had his best game for us as well. That's the marker for Monday and now on. It's now up to Manning to replicate and improve on that performance. I am still not convinced by him but credit where credit's due today.
  3. For what its worth, I'd go with; Max Tanner, Vyner, Dickie & Pring Williams, James Sykes, Knight & Twine Wells
  4. Yes it is a worry. We have got some good players but come the end of the season they will be binned off as too old and expensive to be replaced by younger versions without the nous. If King, Williams & James go at the end of the season as is likely they are effectively being replaced by Stokes, Murphy and Bird. These are great prospects in their own right but you'll all see today the true value of James and Williams in that midfield if they start. There's an inescapable feeling that the lack of experience at head coach level coupled with the perceived ignorance at management level is leading to a meltdown and relegation next season.
  5. Paradoxically I am looking forward to the match! It would give a clear indication of how far we have to go to get anywhere near the aspirations of a club like Leicester. Will we see any improvement on and off the pitch? Especially as he's had more coaching time to get his "behaviours" into the players? Sadly, I don't think so. But I am prepared to be surprised. Sadly, for him, this could be a chastening experience for which will take him a long time to recover from. This could be the start of the catalyst that ends his short reign here.
  6. Surprised there wasn't a pair of jogging bottoms minus the arse in the range. As a defender he is prone to leaving the back door open at times.
  7. he's pinning all his hopes for Friday on "Twiney" So, in reality he should be buying his one way ticket back to Oxford then.
  8. He goes on about behaviours [I think he's mentioned it once or twice] yet his is so bland and predictable. I think I'd rather watch a tin of gloss dry.
  9. Where's that spinny metal thingy that Joe 90's meant to sit in
  10. I noah foootball very well, I learn it from a boook. Great, you've got the job, cheers Jon.
  11. Whoever comes up won't be cannon fodder next season. Pompey, Derby & Bolton. All will build on the momentum of a promotion success. Which means we're in trouble unless the powers that be galvanise our club by getting rid of Joe 90 now and replacing him with Andy King until the end of the season.
  12. Graham, as usual you've hit the nail on the head. Weimann & and Conway, for that matter, posted similar messages which is compelling to say the least. Its personal but also a feeling of incredulity, a bit like the rest of us. This is my club that I've supported since I was a boy but I really don't like the people who run it. They all come across as cozy backstabbers. Heaven knows what other players, agents & clubs think of us. Will Conway stay? In this atmosphere? I doubt it very much & who can blame him.
  13. To me it just shows what a mess we are in. Time will tell with the permanent signing of TGH but you can understand how his performances have picked up without having the contractual issues. But let's also not forget that at 32 he was never going to be the same player he once was for us. It also kind of underlines that we are NOT fully utilising the talent we have in our squad and that's down to the inexperienced coach we currently have and the inexperienced technical director or whatever the title he's awarded himself this week. We will lose a lot of experience come the end of the season in King, James, Wells and Williams as these players are deemed not good enough or too old and need to be binned off by people who frankly are not fit to tie their own boot laces. We are in big trouble under this current set up.
  14. Yep, looks like him and with that same inane grin.
  15. I looked at that match and thought what a load of boring sideways 5hite. If that's the FA coaching manual, its everything that is wrong with football. Coaches like Joe 90 must be lapping this rot up. Hardly any real chances and what chances there were were borne out of opposition mistakes. Not sure how Maguire starts and Chilwell was lamentably just dreadfully poor, mind you not having much game time recently for your club yet still start is mind boggling.

    TC - Scotland

We don't play to his strengths, or any of our strikers' strengths for that matter. Mannings misguided philosophy seems to be one dimensional and geared to a "big centre forward" Its his holy grail. Never mind in working with the talent that you already have at your disposal. A good coach should be able to adapt and develope. What happens if the "big centre forward" picks up an injury, what then? All I see is that we have a pretty miserable strike force feeding off minimal chances per match and all getting blamed indirectly for not converting those minimal chances. You'd have to be a David Villa or Gerd Muller to succeed here.
  17. I think where we have performed under Manning I think its more to do with the players belief rather than anything Manning has implemented. Whilst there is a lot of criticism aimed above him, and that will need addressing, it won't change how the club operates. We will still have targets for players whether its Manning, Andy King or A.N.Other as head coach. I just don't think there has been enough of an influence made by him to make a difference and to suggest we will improve in the short time he has been with us. A pre season or ten games into next season won't make a difference. I am sure he will be a success at some point in the future but its just not working out here. Getting a drubbing at home to Leicester will be extremely dispiriting for him as well as the rest of us, but if Andy King is put in temporary charge it will have the opposite affect. Best to part ways now.
  18. Well, the good thing this week is that we don't have to put up with yet another thought provoking, entertaining and interesting press conference, observing how he fences with the journos and being captivated by his warm and endearing manner. I shall miss that this week.
  19. Not this old chestnut again! NO. You need to up your medication as you're starting to hallucinate and behave irrationally.
  20. Whilst I understand there are issues with JL & BT's inexperienced handling of club affairs, at this moment in time replacing C3PO with Andy King now would bring the club back together short term and sell more season tickets which is ultimately what the club are always aiming for. I except that I, & many other fans are far from happy with how we are being run but in the immediate future it simply isn't working out for the current coach. The player recruitment will go ahead whoever is in charge as that's part of BT's remit. It would be foolhardy to think a preseason will change our fortunes dramatically, it won't. Yes we are under invested but there is nothing to suggest that the current coach can step up and affect and improve our current standing as a football club. Its as simple as that.
  21. Er . . . You would've thought so wouldn't you. Look no further than Pearson, Alexander, Rennie, Fleming & Euell we had it in place. SL even appointed Pearson, so what's gone wrong that we end up with C3PO as someone aptly named him and some bloke with a laptop.
  22. I understand your sentiment but broadly speaking we continually change direction just like a listing ship. We go from an experienced manager and coaching team to a Number two then a head coach arrangement then back to an experienced manager and coaching team then a Number two only to go back to a head coach arrangement again and that's after yet another experienced manager. Its as if our owner and board of directors don't know what they're doing. You can only rinse and repeat so many times before finally realising you keep making the same mistakes and people lose interest. A major overhaul is needed. Something has to change.
  23. Manning's in way over his head. The signs of unrest with the players are there. I've said before, Andy King will transform the club and get everyone pulling together. BT & JL will still be in charge of player pathway & recruitment. Nothing would change there. In fact their ideas would work better. King is intelligent, articulate and has done most things in the game. The most important attribute he has is respect. I just don't see the experienced James or Wells for example, being told what to do by someone who's done nothing in the game. The worrying signs are there for all to see. Sporadic performances, mixed messages, the hardly inspiring jibberish gobbledegook. He has to go.
  24. I watched it all through . . . Well, most of it, I think. I did doze off three times. He is just so uninspiring. He's a cross between Keith Millen and a library book attendant.
