  1. Whoever comes up won't be cannon fodder next season. Pompey, Derby & Bolton. All will build on the momentum of a promotion success. Which means we're in trouble unless the powers that be galvanise our club by getting rid of Joe 90 now and replacing him with Andy King until the end of the season.
  2. Graham, as usual you've hit the nail on the head. Weimann & and Conway, for that matter, posted similar messages which is compelling to say the least. Its personal but also a feeling of incredulity, a bit like the rest of us. This is my club that I've supported since I was a boy but I really don't like the people who run it. They all come across as cozy backstabbers. Heaven knows what other players, agents & clubs think of us. Will Conway stay? In this atmosphere? I doubt it very much & who can blame him.
  3. To me it just shows what a mess we are in. Time will tell with the permanent signing of TGH but you can understand how his performances have picked up without having the contractual issues. But let's also not forget that at 32 he was never going to be the same player he once was for us. It also kind of underlines that we are NOT fully utilising the talent we have in our squad and that's down to the inexperienced coach we currently have and the inexperienced technical director or whatever the title he's awarded himself this week. We will lose a lot of experience come the end of the season in King, James, Wells and Williams as these players are deemed not good enough or too old and need to be binned off by people who frankly are not fit to tie their own boot laces. We are in big trouble under this current set up.
  4. Yep, looks like him and with that same inane grin.
  5. I looked at that match and thought what a load of boring sideways 5hite. If that's the FA coaching manual, its everything that is wrong with football. Coaches like Joe 90 must be lapping this rot up. Hardly any real chances and what chances there were were borne out of opposition mistakes. Not sure how Maguire starts and Chilwell was lamentably just dreadfully poor, mind you not having much game time recently for your club yet still start is mind boggling.

    TC - Scotland

We don't play to his strengths, or any of our strikers' strengths for that matter. Mannings misguided philosophy seems to be one dimensional and geared to a "big centre forward" Its his holy grail. Never mind in working with the talent that you already have at your disposal. A good coach should be able to adapt and develope. What happens if the "big centre forward" picks up an injury, what then? All I see is that we have a pretty miserable strike force feeding off minimal chances per match and all getting blamed indirectly for not converting those minimal chances. You'd have to be a David Villa or Gerd Muller to succeed here.
  7. I think where we have performed under Manning I think its more to do with the players belief rather than anything Manning has implemented. Whilst there is a lot of criticism aimed above him, and that will need addressing, it won't change how the club operates. We will still have targets for players whether its Manning, Andy King or A.N.Other as head coach. I just don't think there has been enough of an influence made by him to make a difference and to suggest we will improve in the short time he has been with us. A pre season or ten games into next season won't make a difference. I am sure he will be a success at some point in the future but its just not working out here. Getting a drubbing at home to Leicester will be extremely dispiriting for him as well as the rest of us, but if Andy King is put in temporary charge it will have the opposite affect. Best to part ways now.
  8. Well, the good thing this week is that we don't have to put up with yet another thought provoking, entertaining and interesting press conference, observing how he fences with the journos and being captivated by his warm and endearing manner. I shall miss that this week.
  9. Not this old chestnut again! NO. You need to up your medication as you're starting to hallucinate and behave irrationally.
  10. Whilst I understand there are issues with JL & BT's inexperienced handling of club affairs, at this moment in time replacing C3PO with Andy King now would bring the club back together short term and sell more season tickets which is ultimately what the club are always aiming for. I except that I, & many other fans are far from happy with how we are being run but in the immediate future it simply isn't working out for the current coach. The player recruitment will go ahead whoever is in charge as that's part of BT's remit. It would be foolhardy to think a preseason will change our fortunes dramatically, it won't. Yes we are under invested but there is nothing to suggest that the current coach can step up and affect and improve our current standing as a football club. Its as simple as that.
  11. Er . . . You would've thought so wouldn't you. Look no further than Pearson, Alexander, Rennie, Fleming & Euell we had it in place. SL even appointed Pearson, so what's gone wrong that we end up with C3PO as someone aptly named him and some bloke with a laptop.
  12. I understand your sentiment but broadly speaking we continually change direction just like a listing ship. We go from an experienced manager and coaching team to a Number two then a head coach arrangement then back to an experienced manager and coaching team then a Number two only to go back to a head coach arrangement again and that's after yet another experienced manager. Its as if our owner and board of directors don't know what they're doing. You can only rinse and repeat so many times before finally realising you keep making the same mistakes and people lose interest. A major overhaul is needed. Something has to change.
  13. Manning's in way over his head. The signs of unrest with the players are there. I've said before, Andy King will transform the club and get everyone pulling together. BT & JL will still be in charge of player pathway & recruitment. Nothing would change there. In fact their ideas would work better. King is intelligent, articulate and has done most things in the game. The most important attribute he has is respect. I just don't see the experienced James or Wells for example, being told what to do by someone who's done nothing in the game. The worrying signs are there for all to see. Sporadic performances, mixed messages, the hardly inspiring jibberish gobbledegook. He has to go.
  14. I watched it all through . . . Well, most of it, I think. I did doze off three times. He is just so uninspiring. He's a cross between Keith Millen and a library book attendant.
  15. I would imagine no one thought of that. Its not on the back of the fag packet which is why its not there. Of course they could use that 36 inch ex rental Granada TV set that's stuck on Babestation. Because of its size seeing any tit action might just have to be what's currently on view on the pitch.
  16. It IS a real concern. Everybody has their own viewpoint, mine is I think he is in way over his head and he knows it. Football isn't a game of chess, its a game of passion, skill and determination, its an entertainment business. Ultimately, those are the ingredients that will bring supporters together, increase attendances and matchday revenue. I really didn't see much of that yesterday. Some of that was due to the dreadful way swansea have in sucking the life out of every game with their possession at all costs borefest mantra. Ask their fans about 70% possession but no shots on target and how satisfied they were. These so called "modern" methodology favoured by all these new up and coming coaches is really flawed without the correct players to play it. I am coming to the conclusion that on the occasion where we play well it is in spite of his tactics rather than the proper application of them. I just cannot see how he can inspire the players. Where is his passion? Others on here that are far more knowledgeable than me can see it, so why can't the club? We now meander to the end of the season, yet another reboot or "he needs a pre season" or "he needs to get his own players in" I just can't buy into it.
  17. With him still in charge it has the feel of the tiny penis era, nondescript. At least with "triffic tone" you could smell gas, this guys so bland you can't smell anything. If you want a reduction on attendances then this possession based borefest swansea style that he alludes to will do it quickly.
  18. A win is a win, to stop the rot. Front foot football? Nope. Something positive in that I did see some influence and in game management from Manning in getting us to be a bit more aggressive in the 2nd half. Lack of any penetration and creativity in the forward areas is a continual theme though. However swansea's continual posession bore fest really doesn't fill me with any enthusiasm for what is instore for us if Manning gets his way. Sykes and Roberts made a difference when they came on. Mehmeti continues to frustrate though. Ball watching and a liability first half & not releasing early enough, to having a big influence 2nd half. There is a player in there.
  19. Not filling the subs bench does limit your opportunities. I am astonished that this goes on. I thought this was basic coaching. There are plenty of good players out there that could do a better job in the short term than some of the youngsters, and you have to include Mebude in that list who seems unable to free himself from nerves.
  20. Only time I saw Ashton Gate La Bombonera style was when Roberts scored in the last minute in the playoffs and the Dolman visibly moved.
  21. Has to be a much improved front foot performance and a win to halt the slide. Nothing less. I am asking a lot but having put up with so much 5hite with top six squad bull from the top, behaviours and being turned over by by dross. Yet again I will be looking at his in game management. I am looking for passion, purpose and motivation. All words that you wouldn't associate (currently) with our head coach, but if he reads this on OTIB, I hope he has a word with himself.
  22. Surprised Colin resigned. Panto season doesn't start for another 8 months or so.
  23. Exactly the point Dave & others far more knowledgeable than me like Silvio Dante & Spudski have come to the same conclusion. He's just not the right fit. The performance last night was probably more down to the players will to succeed rather than his coaching credentials and when he had the opportunity to apply them, he didn't or couldn't. A summer transfer window won't make any difference, it will just make it worse.
  24. It all points to poor in game management yet again. He may blame the players for not making the right decisions on the pitch at certain times but not deploying Roberts to help Pring or use the experienced of Andy King is mind boggling and niave. Again to set up yet again with two subs short is also crazy even if it was a couple of U21's the squad experience would be immeasurable. It is yet another indication that he is way out of his depth at this level. I remember Cotts doing it to spite the owners for being rebuffed on signings before shortly getting the Spanish archer. One can hope.
  25. I glazed over with an umpteenth "behaviours" several months ago. I find his press conferences as inspiring as the players listening to his prematch team talk. He would be far more interesting if he was talking about 2 - 6 -0 bogies and getting the latest numbers from Didcot railway station.
