  1. I am convinced that you are actually an automated bot that the mods have scripted as a joke to appear and post some randomly-generated pessimistic rubbish whenever we lose a game.
  2. Call it the Bas Savage Stand and as a tribute have some mascots kick footballs into the back of it every ten minutes
  3. The issue with the Olympic Stadium is that it should have been constructed with the intent that it was going to have a very short period of its life as an athletics stadium, and then the rest as a football ground. It was instead built with pretty much nothing but the Olympics in mind and while that’s great in the short term, it has led to the issues that we see now.
  4. Been a really boring FA Cup this year. No upsets to get excited about either
  5. Bobby is the departure that has affected us the most over the last five years at least; perhaps even the last decade. We have never replaced him. Weimann plays an important role in this team but is not the answer. Bobby didn’t just score the goals; he made the whole team tick. He is the one striker we have ever had that has managed to bring the best out of Diedhiou. I don’t have confidence that the current recruitment system can find somebody that brings what Bobby did to our team. He was the glue that held it all together. Those saying that this thread is stupid are being very harsh. Bringing him back was unrealistic even before he made his Fulham stay permanent but it is not unreasonable to say that we have never recovered from his departure.
  6. How dare you? I’ll have you know I was a damn good stay at home right back. Ask any winger in the Cornwall Sportivate Youth League from five years ago
  7. Cross ‘Diedhiou misses a sitter’ off your bingo cards
  8. Probably an optimistic request but I want to find a pub/bar/casino/whatever in Bristol that would be likely to show the hockey tonight; ideally Calgary v Montreal. Would such a thing exist?
  9. Got my ticket! Hoping if I keep the stub the club prioritise those who attended this game IF we get past them and get Liverpool at AG next.
  10. Not to mention wrapping his arms around Nuhiu as if they were playing rugby or a particularly robust game of kiss chase!
  11. Completely true. 50:50s are 90:10s when O’Dowda is involved. Hesitates and jumps out of challenges constantly.
  12. Really at a loss now to what he brings. Starting to remind me of Martyn Woolford to be honest. Poor football intelligence, doesn’t link up well with the others and no end product. Let’s hope that Eliasson doesn’t end up like Bolasie; leaving for first team football and then becoming a Premier League player... He was signed under the pretense that he was a raw player and one for the future. Yet, he seems to just get into the team despite doing very little of note. Run up the wing a bit, turn around, make a short pass which sometimes doesn’t even go right. Is certainly not a natural finisher but even his crossing leaves a lot to be desired most of the time. As to why Johnson keeps trying getting to shoehorn him at left wing back to play this turgid 3-5-2, God knows. Actually I think even she would struggle to comprehend why. Please please please please someone enlighten me as the fact that he got a new contract is beyond me. Ask yourself; when he gets the ball, do you get up off your seat in anticipation or do you resign yourself to what is inevitably going to happen next?
  13. I don’t hold this opinion at all and find the ‘sleeping giant’ narrative that is spread about us to be cliched and untrue. We are still a relatively small club in this league without a doubt. Our current status is a club punching above their weight and this has been due to our coaching staff and improved infrastructure around the club; I find it a shame that some bash LJ despite all of this. My aspired status for us is to be a club that builds on this and sneaks up, beating bigger, richer and more established clubs along the way.
