  1. I’m not confident either. Would actually be a very decent game to get a win out of, but sneaking past Wycombe doesn’t bode well against what looks to be a markedly better side. Keep it tight and pray for a Fammy winner off the bench looks like our best strategy again.
  2. I’ve done similar myself before as for the sling and arrows it sometimes gets, Robins TV has done a pretty decent job in my eyes. Plus, you forget how crucial the capacity for replays is when not watching in person; the early stages of plays, or movement away from the ball that lead to goals/incident that you cannot choose to focus on yourself like you would if in the ground adds a lot when watching on TV.
  3. Sky pay for the rights to show championship football and so those of us who subscribe to it having access to the red button games aren’t fleecing the club, just enjoying a benefit of the service we pay for that in turn results in money to the clubs. As someone who stumps up for Sky, my team plays a minimal number of games on their service, so I enjoy it when I have a chance to catch even the Billy basics Red button games as well, and have even paid for a good number of Robin’s TV matches too. So I don’t think it’s a crime to hope that the midweek Sky games are on the red button, as i
  4. Appalling performance. Rotherham happy to mix it up, press hard, and get bodies up to support the players knocking it down in order to profit from the chaos. We look totally shell shocked by them not wanting to give us possession and let us play round them, and absolutely terrible passing most of the time. I’m not sure we’re getting anything here unless we completely change how we’re playing; they still look the most dangerous team.
  5. “We’ve got Sammy Bell...” Rooting for the kid to do well; his dad was a phenomenal player for us. Like the consistency; hope we can play a little more expansive than recently. COYR
  6. Agreed. He has no track record or history there and they aren’t shy about booting gaffers who don’t get results, so he’ll rise and fall on how good he actually is. Don’t get those still aiming shots at him; like others have said, did his best, wasn’t good enough so he went. Sunderland will want to go up ASAP so will either be the making or breaking of him.
  7. Hmmm. While the Morrell one was interesting but made sense, as we can’t be sure he’ll work out at this level, and at least got coin for him, I’m a little surprised at this one. Bolstering what could be a direct rival (and local-ish one too) with a player who I definitely think is able to play at this level, and just needed to find a niche to do so. Yes; one less central midfielder to compete for space but I’m not sure if this is the smartest move. Just hope I’m proven very wrong.
  8. I’m sorry, but I have to call you up on this as being unfair; That’s nearly ten whole games that this manager didn’t lose! Given enough time I’m sure he can hit that crucial miles stone of a cool two digits of matches they’ve not got done over in...
  9. May be he no longer has the legs for it but Brunt has played as a wide midfielder a fair bit, so maybe an option at wing back under certain circumstances. We do have a large number of central midfielders, so imagine something may have to give somewhere. I liked what I saw from Bakinson and seems DH is also a fan, but depending on how much time he’s likely to get, wouldn’t be adverse to him spending three months are a league one side - would give us a chance to assess the fitness/long term future of some of the others who have done similar in recent years. Kind of a ‘good problem
  10. It’s a fair point. I like him, don’t get me wrong, and would like him to stay (be interesting seeing him up top with Martin after seeing his play today), but he seemed off the boil, so my hope is he might be given a bit of time to get up to speed, possibly coming in off the bench for a bit.
  11. It sounds harsh, but if he’s not fit or on form and there is a possibility he’ll move; don’t play him - mainly as if he is off the pace like today might lower his value! Love the lad, but he’s not ready just now, and if he might be going; let’s have him do it with thanks for the great end to last season and both sides move on.
  12. Thanks both. Guess I may have to take my chances later with it! Just didn’t fancy watching it on my phone but I’ll see what works. Will report back if I discover anything more for future reference.
  13. Pre-flurry of signings; was hoping we tread water and don’t get embroiled in a relegation scrap while Holden found his feet and some youngsters got valuable experience. Post-signings; seem to be getting in higher end Championship players, so maybe a push for the playoffs wouldn’t be out of the question. But I’m not expecting great things, and Holden has the time to show what he’s about - would like to avoid the lower half of the table but would settle finishing there if we played a bit more expansive football and developed a ‘youth movement’.
  14. Question on Robins TV as not used it before. Can I cast it to Google Home? Not used the app for anything other than radio and not got a desktop PC so was going to project it on to a wall, so wanted to see if that was possible.
  15. Good luck to the young man. Great shame he didn’t get much of a chance here but boy needs to play, and so long as we got some money for him and a chunky sell-on.
  16. I was underwhelmed by his appointment but that wasn’t really based on him but where I felt we were and what we needed. But I absolutely, positively want Holden to smash it with us. Speaking from experience, he gives me a sense from what I’ve seen and heard from him that he is a real ‘leader’; someone people will play for. Thought it telling he spoke of his experience with Dean Smith were he saw how you can bring people together without belittling them or breaking them down; this is the type of approach you see from a lot of more successful coaches currently - the ‘old skool’ sty
  17. Point one: enough of you’re responses (intentionally or otherwise) are confrontational - the pod posed the question regards thoughts on them taking sponsorship, you then added the factor regards OSIB being able to post (“advertise” as you put it, in the first of a number of pointedly provocative posts) on here, and then called a OSIB contributor of being “political” when you got an incomplete answer to a question you posed - that you choose to be confrontational when it’s not required is notable. Second point; these Masion Bet competitions haven’t even been announced yet - if you were as
  18. Hear, hear. More eloquently put than I would manage but fully agree and speaks to the root of my own annoyance with the discussion.
  19. He isn’t; you’re just looking for a fight/attention. You’re about one more pointless provocation from me muting you - further proof that if you don’t like what’s being said, you don’t have to listen in action. As I said before; for a place which has so many absolutely thrash takes on all things BCFC, I’m grateful OTIB played a small part in producing something as thoughtful as OSIB.
  20. Okay pal, no drama. But for the record; I don’t think saying “don’t like it, don’t listen” is a reductive position - it’s the truth. I respect that someone can hold the view they don’t like OSIB for whatever reason (sponsorship, conflict of interest etc.) but doesn’t mean anyone who disagrees has to listen to their take on it, so saying “don’t like it, don’t listen” is a completely fine take if that’s as far as they want to take that debate. Holding an opinion doesn’t mean you’re owed a response.
  21. So anyone who has an issue with the commentary is either stupid or Machiavellian - pretty gross take tbh with you. Thanks for being the one enlightened person who points out how dumb we all are; what would be do without you?
  22. I’ve enjoyed OSIB without having had to spend a penny, and am mindful of the effort and time it takes a to create content like that. I’ve never felt the content or contributions have been mediated or dampened down based on fear of upset, other than often openly acknowledged avoidance of being flat-out rude. The self-awareness of the opportunities and access they have had is refreshing, and not avoided in discussion. The issue of sponsorship is for the creators; unless you are part of that crew or underwriting it, you can hold a view of course, but they have to spend the time and effo
