It’s the best way to watch City.

One of my Grandkids will be at his first game Sunday.

Will he hooked for life or never again? City win could be back. Defeat against Swansea toxic atmosphere who knows.

Imagine if we ever snuck in via the the playoff's.

Doesn't bare thinking about. Gives me shivers thinking about who would be responsible for recruiting and dealing with the money.

Spud if we ever made it would always be about the journey and the joy of promotion.

The season in the Premier would be shite.

Having lived in South Devon for 35+ years, I think you will find Newton Abbot is very much a Torquay Utd town.

Genuinely feel for their supporters as they are amongst the most passionate about their Club as any fans I’ve met. Hope they can find a way back to regain Football League status sooner rather than later.

In the late 60s Torquay had crowds of 10,000 on a lot of occasions in the third tier, went to a lot of there Saturday night gams, they were nearly promoted a couple of times.

The big Derby at the time was Torquay v Argyle, Exeter were not in the equation as they spent at least 10 years in the bottom tier.

South Devon was very much Torquay you had to reach Totnes,Ashburton Buckfastleigh before Argyle support became prominent.

We’d have bitten several hands off for this…

    ….Saturday lunchtime, wouldn’t we?

Boro was a bit of a must not lose for me.  I know nothing would’ve been decided last Saturday, but even a draw would’ve been 7 league games without a win.  Defeat would obviously kick Boro in the opposite direction.

To get the win was fantastic…and of course it changed the mood for last night too.

Don’t get me wrong, I still think there is a lot of work to do, but…we have momentum.

That's the thing momentum. Really is on the QPR game win that and it doesn't matter if were not any closer to the top 6 , the belief will be there.

Yesterday a Southampton win would have won me £140.

Today a Sunderland win would have won me £170.

    The sacrifices I make

I know your pain. However never put the City in any acacs  to win or lose

Here is some context for you. I don't know your age but for Leeds in 74, think Man City at their best, full of internationals. Some great photos in this report.

Remember that day like yesterday. i was on my way home from Torquay Tech  at the bus station in Newton Abbot, bought the Herald Express and their it was in the Stop Press (ask your grandad)

Result. Leeds 0-1 Bristol City. Went mental, most there must have thought i needed an Ambulance.

That run is pretty unlikely to push us into the top 6.

15 gives us 59 points. You're therefore relying on each of the teams above us picking up no more than 11 (1.57 ppg) in the case of Norwich and Hull, or 12 (1.71 ppg) in the case of Coventry and Sunderland. If any one of them managed to achieve that then they'd inevitably have a better GD than us and we'd stay 7th or maybe even 8th.

Coventry and Norwich are both currently on 13 points from their last 6 (2.16 ppg). Sunderland are on 10 from 6 (1.66 ppg) and Hull on 9 from 6 (1.5 ppg).

So even if we do what you say and go at 2.14 ppg over the next few games, you need all 4 of those teams in that play off chasing pack to drop form if we were to move into the top 6.

That's why it's so unlikely to happen even if we go on an incredible unbeaten run.

    Here's the current table.

  8. Not one of ours but from the early 70s Everton fans

We hate Bill Shankly and we hate St John and most of all we hate big Ron ,and  wele hang the Kopites one by on

the on the banks of the royal blue Mersey.

    Probably not appropiate today.

Weird how cultish OTIB is about regularly having pops at posters across a period of time. More like a pub than a forum at times.

I would say it's the total opposite of a Pub, if people behaved in a Pub like they do on here there would be total carnage !!!

  10. I know that you keep saying Dave that you like Manning and will give him time, but quite frankly that's not how it comes across.

Great win today, brilliant first half, dug in 2nd and got a proper result.

For most of us what's not to like?

Can't wait to see the magnificent seven in action this season. Tinnion has a cracking eye for a player, in Tins we trust!

Grant Smith, Marcus Stewart, Matt Heywood, Alex Russell, Micheal Bridges, Richard Keogh, Dave Partridge

Now now, Alex Russell was a player.

Same year for me mate but took myself and a couple of mates, love my club but hate what they have done to it.

Must have been a good year. City 2/0 Leyton Orient. April 66 my first game.

Amazing that the crowd was 10,000 at the level we are playing now.
