  1. how anybody would think it was anything but a wind up amazes me. Bloody good though.
  2. Red Light Spells Danger... Billy Ocean.
  3. Echo Beach... Martha and the Muffins.
  4. Grates a bit. how about having a second team that are below City? Mine this week will be Plymouth Parkway.
  5. You see the more I read on this thread the more I think I have no ideal what football is about today. Thought I had some understanding but I don't. Not a dig at anyone a few on here have in depth on the workings of the modern game. Just glad of the time when football was a simple game for people like me!!! Anyway lads keep posting I'll try to keep up.
  6. Breaking down the Walls of Heartache... Jonny Johnson and the Bandwagon.
  7. Quite incredible what Eliasson produces when you consider how few times in a game when we get the ball to him in that wide advanced position. When he has the fullback faced up he needs so little space to make an angle for a cross, then his delivery is a joy to watch. Weather he makes the step up remains to be seen, but I haven't seen a player in the premier league that can better him in that skill.
  8. Cum on City 62 was all so different back then. For a start apart from fans around you in the ground and friends how would you know what the division was? In the late days of Ford and early days of Dicks things were not all sweetness and light down the gate. We still moaned when we lost another Tuesday night game at home 0-1. I think the main difference today most are to needy, they see fantastic football every week on the TV every night if you want it, then come to the Gate and watch that today and think this is shit. Back then the only thing you compared City's performance with was against the next team we played. Can remember in the early 70s teams such as Hull, Sheff Utd coming down and thinking wow this is how football should be played.
  9. Never been an admirer of Pato, lightweight doesn't tackle hides at times. Today in a line up so lacking in players with technical ability he stood out, had a great game worked his arse off and looked like apart from Elliason the only one capable of opening Barnsley up. Smith and Brownhill solid but don't have that spark for me. Baker had a sound game, D,silva getting up to speed and Fammy had one of his Barn door games. So hat's off to Pato deserves his place in the side one of only four players that I would be disappointed about if they didn't start the next game. (not that I think 7 of todays side should be left out!!)
  10. Get behind him and the team? Although it was a pretty turgid performance I thought the fans stuck with it, no boos or even many groans at h/t. We just about deserved that win imo not a great deal to get excited about , but the crowd stuck with it right till the goal.
  11. Well it's more like despite of him.
  12. Agree. Should now be given until the end of the season. No more signings wasted enough. Let's see what you can do with the 35 players you already have. If we finish half way in this league then time should be up, after four years of trying.
  13. Hay Bob where you been? Just to get you back on track in case you've been on a long long holiday or something. Don't believe everything you read. everything is going sweet.
  14. **** me you so like a reaction. Tell me this, after 3 years in charge do you think the line up tonight looked like a side that was on the verge of promotion? Second thoughts don't reply. I have no interest in any Shite you may come out with.
  15. To me the team selection showed Lee's true colours. Against a team lower half of the league below us he picked a side to match them up. He picked what he thought was a side that could battle away to a 1_0 win. He doesn't have the courage of his conviction to pick a side to go for the throat. Saturday no excuses, not so much a must win game more a team that really has a go. If we start against Barnsley on the back foot it's time for us to rise as fans and show our true feelings.
  16. More chances? I would have had him out two years ago.
  17. Without of a doubt the biggest game we will have this season Saturday. No extra time tonite no excuses Saturday. MUST WIN GAME.
  18. Don't know about that. Pats is such a lightweight player, no doubt has technical ability but would his skill set carry him in the top league? Can't see it myself. Anyway it's about can he come back and influence our season, one Swallow and all that. Has moments of skill and vision for sure, the goal at Sheff Utd and the bit of magic home to Derby stand out. My fear is he just aint tough enough. Hope he proves me wrong and fires us into those playoffs.
  19. Tell me it's just a rumour baby....The Isley Brothers
  20. 120 miles just to get to our place.!!! In the scheme of things Plymouth are a big club. Capable of getting similar crowds to us. How that lot down the road think there on a par beggars belief.
  21. Don't think he feels he's been in a game unless he puts in a real tackle. Proper old fashioned center half is Baker not many left now at this level.
  22. Just walk in my shoes..Gladys Knight & the Pips
  23. Yeah BS4 as you know was in a replay after a 1/1 draw at the Gate. Tuesday afternoon KO. 3 day working weeks for some. Leeds were indeed then the best side in the country, infact if memory servers me right were unbeaten in any competition at the time we played them. Think there was a 44.000 crowd at Ellend Road for the game. Wasn't there myself was at Torquay Tech that day and found out the result in the Stop Press of the Hearld Express at Newton Abbot bus station. Imagine that today!!!!!
