  1. Not controversial at all, there have been many threads on here denigrating the abilities of someone who has been a developing teenager for most of his career here. You are not alone. I would say that if he was Bristolian and had come through the whole of the academy, most of those who castigate him would be excited about how he has done.
  2. Sam Pearson not involved for Yeovil, an injury maybe but both they andB ath City play again today, so maybe some squad rotation?
  3. We have an 1 year option which will take him until June 2024,, so no real panic yet.
  4. Nik Sheppard and Danny Swann joined from the Cortinas. They both went to Ashton Park school.
  5. Not quite sure I agree having given it a recent reappraisal, there are a couple of tracks that sound better now I am older. Now the Sandinista triple album definitely needed a good editor. I remember Joe Strummer saying once, when asked about side b of the 3rd disc. "Oh only the very brave go there".
  6. I don't think any of of our front 3 have set positions, it depends on how the play breaks, which markers they feel they can be most effective against and how their partners are placed. I am just watching Forest Spurs and although Forest have a similar front 3 and they look quite effective, they are much less fluid positionally which is allowing Spurs to cope reasonably well with them.
  7. City Corner which goes across the face of the goal and is cleared. The throw in is given and Andi Wiemann goes running to the referee to plead with him that it should be our throw in. The referee seemed to wait patiently for him to have his say before pointing out that he had already given it to us. Wiemann's sheepish smile and wave of apology did little to cover his blushing face. The referee seemed to find it funny too, I just thought it was a nice moment in the heat of the game.
  8. Would it be any different to when we sold Chris Garland to invest the money across the squad? At that time I seem to remember people complaining about it, but it was a good thing long term.
  9. Weird because the stats don't back that up at all.
  10. Two clean sheets one with only 10 men, that's already an improvement. Yesterday was disappointing in that we not only had the game won, we looked confident and relaxed until one pass was made. In previous games, especially last season the equaliser/winner seemed inevitable, but it has only looked unlikely this time.
  11. I can only assume you completely failed your English Comprehension exam then. That quote starts with a line that says the licence was given to BCFC, but concludes with "produce home grown talent for professional clubs (plural) to use in their teams. That's more than one club then, isn't it? Unless of course you would like to use 1984 Newspeak talent to show that my contradiction to you inaccurate assessment, is actually me giving you top marks.
  12. I have no idea what 3rd goal you are describing, but I wouldn't recognise ours from yesterday from that description. Naismith caught the goalkeeper out with a direct shot that he wasn't expecting, and he could only direct it at Wells. The ball bounced off Wells hit the bar and was already going in when it hit the defender. That's why Wells looked slightly disappointed because he knew he wasn't going to get the credit. I think Wiemann looked only about 80% fit, so should get more credit for playing in both positions during the game. Scott's mark is a joke, he provided an assist and the only reason he wasn't more effective is because Lavery kept fouling him. The marking overall for the attacking players in a team that scored 3 goals and were a constant threat is less than generous. Other than that, I agree with your report.
  13. Well Conway has already provided the assist for two Semenyo goals, which is a good sign. Having said that it doesn't look like he was credited with an assist yesterday for some reason?
  14. But is he an academy product, according to Bristol Boy jr. probably not.
  15. I was right the first time then. Cardiff's finishing though............

  17. I'd say it's about 50 50. Some condemn it but with caveats. Example below. Ignoring the shocking use of the English language, this idiot and others like him on that thread, think that timewasting is worthy of a death threat. Members of the Taliban are probably reading that and thinking that's a bit reactionary.
  18. Ok so you have now confirmed you a wind up merchant. You have read a statement of intent from the club's official website, and deliberately decided to misinterpret it and twist it to match your agenda. And don't ******* quote me as if I am some kind of disciple. You need some of this to sort you out.
  19. So last week the opposition coaches had no experience and don't understand the modern game, this week the coach is too experienced to understand the modern game? I wonder what will happen if they meet a team with a Manager in that sweet spot in between?
  20. "Bristol City Football Club (in the Third Division at the time) was given a F.A. ‘Centre of Excellence’ licence. The idea behind these centres was to develop young local footballers and produce home-grown talent for professional clubs to use for their first teams."
