  1. I did a thread the other day about last Saturday as a general day out, I forgot to mention that the band were very good at what they did. Covers band, picking some good "rabble rousing" tunes including the ubiquitous "Sweet Caroline" but they did it really well and generated plenty of response from the crowd. Good musicians with a charismatic lead singer and guitarist.
  2. And Conway only scored his 2nd goal because he scuffed his shot. Perhaps we should just count scruffy goals as .5 of a goal?
  3. Perfect for the role, one could say. I had nothing against it.....
  4. I'll bet that all this focus on Zak is appreciated by Bents who was nutmegged by a straightforward toe poke.
  5. Obviously splits opinion on here but I will remember him fondly, not just because he made the game looks so ridiculously easy at times, but because his partnership with Matt Smith kept our great season on track when Wilbs and Agard were injured.
  6. I have no idea who any of these teams are, I have never had it on in my house. The only time I have seen it was at my father in laws place. (He has no interest in cricket, but likes the 100). I didn't really watch the game as I couldn't see anything past those God awful graphics. I am afraid this is going to be a big blind spot for me at future pub quizzes...
  7. Presumably, as a 6 off the last ball would have won it for them, that must have been the highest chasing total as well? Terrific day for fans of good batting then.
  8. El Condor Pasa - Simon and Garfunkel (not MOR)
  9. Well the parking is on council property so I am guessing they get something from that. The pitches for the stall have to be rented.. Then there is knock on effect to surrounding reas, hotels, b&bs etc, it's no different to any other event in that respect.
  10. They went up this morning. Why would it be scrapped, it's a huge money spinner for the area whether they fly or not.
  11. Glos doing their best to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory I see.
  12. I remember reading that Luke Steele was a Judge at the Mr Gay Uk competition in the past, which I thought was very forward thinking of him at the time. This was back in 2012. "The celebrity judging panel included this year’s Dancing on Ice winner, and Emmerdale star, Matthew Wolfenden, professional footballer Luke Steele formerly of Manchester United and now the Barnsley goal keeper. Bafta award winning TV Writer, Daran Little known for his work in Coronation Street, Eastenders and Made in Chelsea, completed the panel."
  13. Why does this make you sad @swanker?
  14. It will be because of the balloon festival half way across town or the Tour De France or something. Actually, we have a food festival here in Portishead so maybe that is a draw.
  15. I remember there being a picture of Engvall when he signed, with about 4 "agents/liggers" with him and thinking this doesn't look right at all. I would love to know what Ashton was getting out of these deals with people no one had ever heard of
  16. The Pride marches are always good fun, my wife and I have attended a couple one here in Bristol and one in Norwich when we were over that way. So colourful and a sense of freedom you don't often see. I am glad Luke had a good time and I hope others will feel they can follow suit.
  17. I suppose it depends on whether your ROI target is to get back the cost of the system. In my case it's money from my SIPP, part of my 25% I can liberate tax free, now it could sit there and the markets could go through the roof and I will 10/12% on my investment, but it's very volatile currently and that seems unlikely. The way I see it, what I will save on my bills monthly is likely to be equal to or greater than the interest I might accrue, I can either have 9k + interest or 9k worth of system saving me x a month. Regarding the battery, I do see it as something I will see it from as I already have an ev, at the moment I rarely charge it at home, I either use the free chargers which are conveniently placed for me or I can use one of the local rapid chargers that only costs me 5p per KWH more than at home. I am not silly enough to think this situation will last for ever though, so any savings I can make on home charging will help future proof me.
  18. @Curr Avon has just screwed up my phone with that. Cheers mate.?
  19. Quite surprised it's 3 years and not 3 matches these days.
