  1. Still on the train on the way home, same as most Saturdays under Manning, good day out ruined by boring football. The back four can defend, but haven’t got anything else going for us!! Lots of Manning out chants today, and the odd “we want our Pearson back”. I stayed until the end, boos rang out, followed by more boos and abuse when the players came over to applied us (a few clapped back). Don’t know where we go from here, crap under Manning, but wouldn’t trust the board to get the right man if he was sacked… would probably end up with BT until the end of the season!!!
  2. Tickets can be collected in Birmingham if need, next to the away stand entrance. I’ve checked this with Jerry .
  3. Just over 1,000 sold as far, would think the other 1,800 would get snapped up in the morning.
  4. Yeah, fair comment, something I didn’t really think of when I looked up the figures. I stick by what I said about moving the away fans though. City fans should be behind both goals.
  5. Since the start of last season, including cup games and Norwich last night, we've conceded 34 goals at home... 12 of which were conceded in front of the South Stand, and 22 in front of the away fans (64%). Would this be any different if we had home fans behind each goal? I think so, it seems far to easy and common for away teams to score at that end of the ground. I noticed Friday night that even clubs like Hull get this right, home fans behind each goal and away fans tucked away in the corner - the proper way of doing things (unlike Ashton Gate, where its the reverse)... Interestingly, Hull conceded 32 goals at home over the same period (two less than City), 17 at one end, 15 at the other! A much more even split. Move the away fans to the bottom right of the Lansdown, top right as well when its a large away following, and have City fans behind both goals.
  6. In my opinion, the solution to this is to put the away fans bottom right of the Lansdown (imagine a much bigger version of Bournemouth’s ground), then if there’s a big away following, give them the top right of the Lansdown too. Minimal disruption to season ticket holders, as there aren’t too many currently in that section of the ground to rehome. Home fans could then be behind both goals, S82 moving to the Atyeo. I appreciate this isn’t an overnight job, but should be our long term goal for next season to improve the atmosphere.
  7. Got an email from the club yesterday saying that due to a technical issue the dd wouldn’t be taken until Friday.
  8. Thomas - The best January signing so far!! Enjoyable listen as always ?
  9. Thats not true mate, plenty of grounds with really good atmospheres still. Take Burnley for example, the noisy / singing section (call it what you want), are right next to the away fans, they make loads of noise and get the whole ground going... throw a drum in the mix and it also stifles the away fans. Swansea, Hull, West Brom, Coventry, Derby, even Reading last weekend had a better atmosphere than Ashton Gate - All have noisy home fans next to the away fans. Things need to change, I’m all for moving to block A of the dolman.
  10. My payment hasn't come out either, I'm sure it will over the next couple of days.
  11. Yeah fair enough, a singing selection does sound a bit tinpot, but you get the general idea ?
  12. My son and I stand in s82 and this is often the topic of conversation. A singing section next to the away end makes all the difference, like someone else said, look no further than Coventry and Swansea, both have created a great atmosphere at their grounds. The solution would be, City fans back in the Atyeo, away fans to the right in the last quarter of the Lansdown. Small away following and they get the bottom half, large away following and they get the bottom and top tier. Away fans would still enter and leave the ground through the same entrance as they do now. Home fans enter and leave the Atyeo via the dolman side. Can’t see it happening though.??
