30 years is pocket change compared to some of the fans we have.

This is what happens when you fire two competent and disciplined CEOs, plus one competent and disciplined manager, and split their overarching duties of oversight between three people who with the best intentions will lose track of things and drop the ball.

What I really want to know is, when will we have a match shirt and commemorative pre match ritual celebrating those 30 years?! Seems to be all the rage these days.

Apart from our two centre backs “not good enough for a top six team” could equally apply to everyone else.

It certainly could, doesn't change that Williams isnt. I think the other players around the more defensively minded midfielders can work to Mannings playstyle. The James/Williams effect is it slows the game down. When we need to be more dynamic. Interchanging in positions. Formations should be fluid in the modern game, especially in a playstyle like Manning wants to play.

    Very unpopular 🤣🤣🤣

Would like to see his stats, ball retention rates, pass succession over 20 yards. I bet its not very good. For me, not good enough for a "top 6" team.

  4. Maybe an unpopular opinion. But, he's a passion merchant, glosses over his various inabilities because he punches the air/puts in an angry challenge every now and again. For me he and James are the reason Manning is unable to play his style of play and why we're looking to bring in some more mobile CMs. Would be happy to see none of them renew their contracts tbh.

His passing range is generally poor, accuracy poor, positioning poor, shooting god awful. For example, in the Cardiff game he spent the majority hiding behind the 15 not wanting the pass.

  5. My main issue with Max is for all of the excellent saves he makes. He makes some equally questionable passes/mistakes.

For example, on Tuesday. A brilliant save with his legs, to then follow up with a simple collection which he nearly parried out to an opponent.

in short, is fine for what we need in the mid-championship level. Not a top champ team keeper for me.

  6. Manningball will never work with James and Williams in there, hence the pooling of CM talent to take over next year. We need mobile, box to box types that get us moving quickly. Not James who labours around the pitch and a slow Williams (who puts in a hard tackle every now and again and maybe pulls off a pass once in 10 attempts). Its crap that we're once again rebuilding but its required. I was a staunch advocate of Pearson and dont think he should have been sacked, but Manning is here, we can all see the way he "wants" to play. We just dont have the players to achieve it... Yet.

It's not even true - our average attendance then was around 12-13k, so a 120% increase would give us an average of around 27k now??

Seems like Gaslighting runs from the top down.

  8. As others have probably said (I cba to read through 8 pages), the only way I can see why the Lansdown's are taking this stance is that they have investment or a buyer lined up for the club at the end of the season, of which the sale/investment depends on there not being a manager (so they can bring in their own) and a healthy FFP status for them to take on (for transfers etc). Its just weird how the investment talk has all but dried up which coincides with the lack of reinvestment / contract situation for our Nige.

I for one want Nige to stay. He's doing a brilliant job and if it is the case that the above is true, then anyone coming into the club should be able to see that too.

Add to this that Nige's back problems must be taking an effect on his mood and overall mental state, I know when I had my back issues (and again when they flair up) my mood goes down the pan, all of this culminating in the comments from NP.

I couldn't agree more......even with a lack of confidence, he came across as absolutely useless. So many basics wrong. How did he ever get a contract before...just wait until the end of episode 6. You'll find out where he ends up.

I also thought the ex Birmingham keeper was useless as well.

    Haha! found his level then!

Yep the only thing worse than that GKs ability was his attitude. Wont get anywhere.

  10. Just on Episode 6.

That Charlie looked like he'd won a competition to play there. Didn't even run like a footballer. Was still adamant he was good enough though.  The bloke couldn't even pass the ball and receive it to the same foot, even i could do that from 5 yards away.

Firstly, I know this isn’t going to happen. NP has seemingly put all his eggs in the 433 basket. Secondly, some people say formations don’t matter, well, 3 shots on target says otherwise.

This formation enables us to get our best players on the pitch and offers more support to our forward players. We do not have a forward who can play upfront by himself, and we don’t have wingers who can cross a ball, our best delivery players are our full backs who can’t get up the pitch….this formation enables them to.

Pring has no relationship with Bell or Mehmeti, and Tanner has no relationship with Cornick and is scared to cross the half way line…..wingbacks enables us to get our full backs up the pitch…..Pring/Roberts on the left….Sykes on the right.

Bell/Cornick/Wells need support, a partner, someone who they can work with, someone who can occupy defenders….they aren’t physical enough, clever enough to play up top by themselves……this isn’t the QPR side where Wells did so well with 2 creative wingers and 2 classy CMs putting him in.

Dickie has played in a 3 at QPR, Vyner and Naismith are proven at this level…..it takes time to coach, surely it’s worth considering? Does this lineup look any worse than what we’ve seen so far this season?

    O’Leary

    Vyner Naismith Dickie

    Sykes James Knight Pring

    Weimann/Mehmeti

    Wells Cornick

    Thoughts?

You seem to have Cornick still on the pitch...

Good to see Manchester fans gracious in their defeat to ‘Bristol’. One day, people, they will address us correctly ?

Fair play to them actually, some nice stuff there

I see it as a term of endearment, clearly they recognize there is only one team in Bristol.

Perusing the BRs forum and the various opinions about where they are, which players they rate or don’t rate, the managers decisions getting questioned is just like any other club forum, including positive and negative views on the opposition - just as otib is………Football supporters are pretty much all the same regardless of which club they support.

Thanks Michael Owen, back to BT sport now
