Can you expand on the first paragraph about day to day running and his mates being involved? Appreciate you may not be able too.

He has personal friends who are employed by Bristol Sport who have worked there a long time.

That’s me too…it’s what he says in relation to what he’s seeing versus what I’m seeing (and you too by the seems of it).  Nige wasn’t much beyond monotone either, but what he said was insightful, and imho resonated with what I was seeing on the pitch.  Manning appears to be watching a slightly different game, somewhat through rose-tinted specs.  I think he struggles with levelling off what a good performance is, and then what level of performance is needed to win games.  Saying “we’ve been in every game” or stuff like that, is a bit misleading.  We are playing a low-scoring sport.  Leeds (h) was a game where we were in it, purely because they only scored once, but that doesn’t level out to mean it was a good performance.  I know he said we weren’t “at it” that game, just using it to make a general point.

Yeah good point re: Leeds, yeah we 'only' lost 0-1 but we were never 'in it'.

Lot's of struggling managers like to use scoreline differential to project the 'fine margins', but we were never close to getting anything out of that game, we had 1 shot.

We were arguably closer in the recent WBA game but 2-0 is harder to defend than 0-1

Same technical speak that hardly anyone understands

You flatter him. It's not as if he's trying to to explain quantum physics or the theory of relativity to a bunch of plebs.

We can all understand what he's saying.

The problem is Liam is trying to fill a two minute interview with complete arse gas to disguise the fact he doesn't know what he's doing.

Phil Mitchell would be a better choice than Manning. At least he would have some passion!

At this point Sonya Jacksons trumpet or Robbie Fowlers dog would be an upgrade.

He must know his time here is coming to an end, he has no respect from the fan base and is now just an object of ridicule. It's becoming hard to watch in all honesty.

In fact this whole situation reminds me when Leeds, when they were at the height of their disfunction, sacked experienced manager Brian McDermmot and hired Forest Green Manager, David Hockaday ... a hugely dissapointing appointment in the eyes of the supporters, he became an object of ridicule, was completely out of his depth, sacked after 6 games and is now genuinely a P.E Teacher at Stroud College.

  5. So unless you have a season ticket already in the SS, you'll never be able to buy one again? Or have I misunderstood this?

The empty seats in the SS where season ticket holders don't turn up are just going to be replaced by empty seats of unsold potd tickets.

We have 2 "ends", neither ever full of City fans. What a mess.

I got heat for saying I'd renew a few days back but I will be. The only reason is that I have friends I go/sit with and more I see after the game. Football is a valued part of my social life (even though the game itself offers almost nothing of late). I'm not sure i would otherwise, instead opting for a membership.

The difference now, is that I'll rarely be declining invites for other things this coming season, should they clash with a game. In the past the match would come first.

You don't have to justify yourself if you choose to renew. If City is something you enjoy and you get value our of it then it's no body else's business what you spend your money on.

I think what grates some is that there are people who talk a big one on here, make a lot of noise, but end up renewing anyway 😂

    Exactly what I'm doing.

Good for you. Make sure you do it, a lot of people feign distain, but slap another 500 quid into Lamsdowns pocket when push comes to shove.

The only thing these people care about is money, cut the cord. 👍

Atmospheres at nearly every ground surface n the country is shite compared to years ago , it’s just how it is , don’t think Ashton gate is any worse or better than anywhere else , it will have good days and bad days ,results and performances will go along way to creating the atmosphere and I’m afraid our home performances haven’t been up to much for a while now ,

Proof is in the pudding = Southampton decent performance decent atmosphere

Man Utd = superb performance superb atmosphere and so on

I'm sorry but I disagree with that. We're not even a top 40 fan base. There are loads of British teams still making a din. We've become to entitled, to comfortable... dare I say it, to middle class.

  9. They need to do something atmosphere is shite and has been for years.

Personally I'd put standing in the whole of the SS and have the whole lot unreserved.

You'd upset some but it might drive more back.

Fair play to you. I've seen your posts on OTIB for a while about staying away and you were ahead of the curve I have to say..

I won't be renewing for 2024/25, not because of the money but out of protest to how the club is being run.

I preferred the old Ashton Gate too and find the overall matchday experience now very watered down and dull. I think this is what the fat cats wanted and have no ambition for us to really kick on.

Hopefully they sell up soon and things change.

If anything I was a few seasons late. Dean Holden should have been my exit route, but I hung on thinking they'd not do anything like that again ... (they ******* did 😂)

I gave my season ticket up last year after 13 on the bounce and I can say for a fact that it's been a weight off my shoulders.

I drink less, my heads in a better place, I'm genuinely happier and it's so easy to watch City from home it's almost pointless going to the ground anymore.

Yes I miss the limbs, the banter, but actually I haven't rated the atmosphere at the club for a long time and actually a lot of it is just East End nostalgia that no longer exists.

It's hard to let go, I understand, and a lot of people renew out of habit but my advice is vote with your feet guys, demand better.

Also just thinking about it. City have not made a single attempt to regain my business. I can't go a day after cancelling one of the millions of subscriptions I have without someone calling or emailing me offering me allsorts of discounts/incentives to come back (and I often do).

City just just don't ******* care I swear.

Any seats that aren't renewed won't be made available to buy as Season Tickets and will be made available on a game by game basis.

Will this include S24/S25? ... there's are never POTD options for this corner

  14. It saddens me to hear talk of giving Manning money in the summer, but what is even more depressing is that it'll be for "one or two" signings ...

There's absolutely no way in living hell Manning has the talent to turn this squad into a top6 outfit with only 2 signings.

That's not going to get bums on seats is it Brian ... IS IT BRIAN.
