Indeed, thought I was on the wrong forum for a moment.😳

All this movie star talk too. Our friends daughter works in TV and films, reckons Anthony Hopkins is a real gent.

Big Tone started it, he showing off that he's worked with the Hollywood elite and had a "dalliance" with Cate Blanchett 😃

He was Ok and friendly enough.  Joel Schumacher was the Director and a nicer guy you couldn't meet. Admit to being quite upset when he passed away. Jerry Bruckheimer was the Producer but apart from a few hello's had little to do with him.

Sorry Tone, because i don't mix with the Hollywood elite (Unlike you) l've no idea who these German sounding guys are (excuse my ignorance) 🤣

Had a part in a film with Cate Blanchett (and Colin Farrell) a few years back and she is a very nice lady.  Sorry but just had to throw that in !!!

Big Tone mixing with the Hollywood elite, whatever next, what was Colin Farrell like ? He was a bit wild in his younger days

Helena Bonham-Carter, Julianne Moore, Michelle Pfieffer would all be more than welcome!  But truth told I'm more than happy with Mrs Robbo. Just in case you're reading Otib for the first time in your life, you're fab! 😍

I forgot about Michelle Pfieffer, that will do me (only joking Mrs Tom)

She's an American actress and I have to be honest I googled "attractive actresses" to find her. The ones I used to fancy are now too old or too odd for the average board member.

Too old ? someone like Gwyneth or Cate Blanchett would do for me despite being in their 50s (slightly less likely than Rovers finishing in the top 2)

Some of it was, Google was my friend for others! 🤣🤣🤣

I think the financial stuff was overplayed.  E.g. is it really a surprise that they couldn’t re-contract Andre Ayew on £80k p.w, now they’d lost PPs.  I think it was just returning to being sensible, rather than being anything like us, Brum, Reading, etc.

    👌

Really?  Just finished 4th, missing out in playoffs under Cooper.  They lost £80k p.w. Andre Ayew, and Connor Roberts and Jamal Lowe, but that was it, bringing in Downes, Obafemi, Piroe, Pato, Christie.  Under no threat of FFP. In fact the year before they turned in a profit (final £15m PP).

Haha did all that come off the top of your head Dave ? 🤣

I seem to remember Swansea were heading for some financial difficulty which was why Cooper left them after the play-offs, i probably have got that totally wrong

Neither of those managers would have agreed to inherit what Pearson agreed to inherit (in terms of the UPCOMING FFFP problem that everybody inside the club and many on here knew was on the horizon but a section of the fanbase seem to be in total denial about). That's why it took them nearly three years to fire him. The first question a manager of high stock at the time you are looking to appoint will ask is "how much have I got to spend?". When you come back with "very little" it's "thanks for your interest in me now kindly **** off".....

I think Swansea were in a worse shape than us when Martin took over them not that it really matters now

Of course it’s not the same. Pub league standard is being kind. But it’s still football, as was working for Crawley and Portsmouth.

He's never stayed in a job for more than a year since he left us, i agree with what someone else said that i think he just fell out of love with football after Reading, i even forgot that he left Man City after four weeks

I can remember a few moaning re: James as it happens (not me) and they were shouted down. If you go over the head of the manager and buy a Goalkeeper as the focal point of your recruitment and he doesn't win you 8-10 points that season then you get judged in hindsight end of story and you deserve the flak that comes your way too. In terms of hindsight, nobody was moaning when Pearson was appointed blah blah blah..................it was only when Danny Simpson arrived that a few decided he was finished for good. No criticism of the Owner who was happy to pay said player's wages though.

I moaned when Pearson was appointed and i was shouting from the roof-tops for Cooper or Martin by the summer of '21. (Tin-hat on)

Guess who decided to bring David James in? Clue....it wasn't Steve Coppell.

Can't remember anyone moaning at the time, an ex-England keeper and a manager that won the Championship with a record points total that still stands today, hindsight is a wonderful thing

Do what? What would have impressed you in any manager having to take over a Pearson (basket) case 6 months ago? The summer will go well because the club (ie owners & senior, respected managers will back Liam) so you have no reason to have a bad feeling. And what the hell do you mean by regression? Since when, since Cotts or since Johnson? There has been zero regression since Pearson lef; the players are happier, the cup run, we beat or draw with top teams, we smash poor teams etc etc - sometimes the negativity of you (and others) posts is simply baffling. What regression can you possibly mean?

Now i wasn't Pearson's biggest fan and was one of the few who wasn't upset when he was sacked but i do appreciate he took over a very difficult situation and steadied the club with limited resources, you are being very very harsh

There doesn’t appear to be much wrong with your football club other than a few quality addictions in the summer. The owner has delivered a first class stadium and training facilities and appointed a young manager who needs to be given time to develop the younger players and implement his style and looking at recent results he appears to be slowly changing things.
Football fans at all clubs are fickle and demand success instantly and as we all know it’s not that easy at any level.

The problem with Swindon is that despite always staring the season well they always think the season finishes in November

Yes. But if you have a mix of physical and digital tickets there might be an issue if one person wants to renew linked tickets and they might need to be renewed separately by the person issued the ticket. But if they are all physical you'll just have to tick a box.

(I couldn't renew my brothers physical ticket - I have a digital one - as it would only give me the option of getting him a digital ticket.

When my brother went to renew himself later, he had a 'physical' ticket option.)

Cheers, two physical tickets for me

I think Blackburn stay up. I don't see 3 teams getting to 49 and with better GD. Birmingham playing Huddersfield gives the teams already clear a big advantage.

Possibly right but if Brum beat Hudd’ Plymouth get 1 point and Weds’ get one victory they” ll go above Blackburn !!!!
Plymouth to be relegated is 8/1 with the bookies, I might have a bit of that, they could drop into the bottom three next weekend

  18. If the management think he’s not good enough then fine and I don’t have a problem with that because they see him every day, my problem is that the critics on here have been judging a 19 year old ever since seeing him play for 30 minutes
